My guess is a ‘CR-78 + TR-808 Clone on Roids’ as the 909 would require samples for authenticity.
Multi-Out support, typical per-sound effects and a built-in sequencer could be nice bonuses?

Because it’s not an app. It’s desktop only so it doesn’t belong here in the General App Discussion thread - it would be more appropriate to have it in the Desktop category.

Well I hope it’s not anything like the Yamaha RX7, that was my first drumcomputer in the 90s and it had that ‘get funky‘ voice sample that still haunts me.

The RX5 has really good editing facilities and samples such as “waow”, “ooo”, gunshots etc. were very useful pitched as much as +2/-3 octaves, reversed, enveloped, pitch bent, etc. It is the king of the RX series!
How do you know? I got the email from them and there's no indication if it'll be desktop only or if it'll be for both desktop and iPadOS.
@robosardine - I didn't move the thread yet because as @NeuM mentioned, there's no indication of whether will be released for iOS or not.
That’s fine it’s not a problem. I am perhaps making an assumption here. I was basing it on my sense that when anyone mentions along the lines of ‘available for your DAW’ that it is referring to desktop unless otherwise stated. It would not be unprecedented for them to release on Desktop first. To me all the indicators are pointing that way.
What we can say for certain I think at the moment is that - there is no app, nor has there been an announcement about an app release 😀
