Your best track of 2025
With a few weeks to go before the end of the year I thought I would carry on the long tradition (well it started in 2022) of having a thread for your ‘best’ track of the year…. Just one each please 🙏
Not necessarily the one that gathered the most listens, comments, likes or money 💰 but the one that, overall, you were happiest with irrespective of what anybody else thought.
After some thought I chose this one… it’s not the most successful in terms of listens or comments but it has my favourite little riff + it’s a fairly complicated track I.e. it broke me out of my standard backing / lead type tracks.
I also like it because I find it very uplifting ( always an advantage in this day and age) + I think Himalayan Mule farmers are much under appreciated in the idiom of modern rock music 😊
All done in AUM btw which as everybody knows is not DAW 🤔

Good Lord. I released 7 albums in 2025 and you want me to pick one song? Okay, I guess it would have to be this country duet that I wrote. The singers made this one work. I'll post it and then I'll listen to your track and comment on it. I'm sure it'll be great.
Tony, I don't even know where to begin. First of all, it's such a pleasant track to listen to. Really made me smile. Second, I love the guitar work on this. I assume they're guitars. At least that's what they sound like to me. The mix is great. The arrangement is perfect. What's not to like?
Thanks for sharing this. I needed a cheer up tune to listen to.
I think I missed this track of yours. Nice use of those sounds at the beginning and those are beautiful melodies. It transports you to a pastoral setting.
Man, this is a great tune. It’s an Elton John, Styx, Queen and GNR quality ballad, imo. “No cap”, as the young people would say.

This is the only one I got close to a finished state in 2025.
Made of Ice (A Little Courage)

Here’s to hoping everyone gets to do more music in the coming 2026!
Shades of Mike Oldfield. A really lovely listen.
Cant post anything myself as changed what I do - trying to write songs now and have many half finished tracks a2aiting lyrics when i finally buy a micophone. So, im back to making lots of music with not a finished track in site lol. I do enjoy the journey though! Thanks for sharing yours!
For once, my current most popular track also happens to be my absolute favorite.
I remember a couple years ago when I released some throwaway low-effort Lofi track, and it took off like crazy. It wasn't my favorite track at all. This time however, this slowed-down sensual synthwave track is my favorite. I'll catch up on others' tracks soon.
I must've appeased Youtube algorithm gods somehow, coz this one became my most liked track in a week
The effect was very short lived though, and now I'm back to usual levels. I like this track very much, but I wonder what exactly happened. Probably just a random glitch in the Matrix?
Absolutely beautiful, as always!
Great track @wagtunes , really catchy chorus. 7 albums as well… blimey 👍
Thanks for the nice comments… all my playing is via GeoShred, no real guitars are harmed in the making of my music !
Cheers @alexy, your track really catches a mood and those little bell like melodies are lovely 👌
Thanks @Fruitbat1919 … I’m sure your half finished tracks are worth listening to but I’m happy to wait 😊
Probably this one, though mostly for sentimental reasons. The violin sounded especially good in this one.
It was improvised on two MIDI keyboards connected to Bitwig Studio on a desktop PC. There the MIDI was routed to Intimate Violin for the violin, Noire for the piano, Vital Series: Mallets for the vibraphone and glockenspiel, and Continua for the background instrument.
Thank you all for the kind words. I will try to get to everyone's tracks ASAP. I am swamped with work here. LOL
@AlexY
Love it! She has a nice voice whoever she is. Really nice tune. Enjoyed every second of it.
I knew this was gonna be great before I even started it. I was not disappointed. What a production. I'll have to be reincarnated 100 times over to do stuff like this.
Man, that is one cool app. How do you get all those sounds out of just moving a few sliders?
The opening immediately reminded me of Star Trek for some reason. Very nice piece. Relaxing and peaceful. Just what I needed today. Thanks for sharing this.
This is for me one of best things i ever made :-) Absolutely love those melodies :-)
Really cool sounds. May I ask what synth was used on this? It sounds great whatever it is.
My favourite track of mine for 2025 was a cover version I recorded - some may be familiar with I Walk Beside You, which was the theme song for the BBC series Strike.
I will catch up with everyone else’s tracks in the next few days
Thanks so kindly mate. I'm currently listening to all the tracks here and taking notes. 🤣 I like what I hear so far.
The secret sauce here is Ableton Move, it's a great addition to AUM - as a sequencer and a drum machine and an additional synth and.... Well, I quite like it, is what I'm saying
Great track!
I think my favorite is this little short tiki song, Enjoyed making it and pretending I was on a happy island somewhere for a while.

This year I found my sound a hybrid of synthwave / darksynth / Metal. I started the year with this track that was exactly were I was trying to go.
Great playing Tony. The melody reminds me of something , maybe Queen.
This is a truly old style song from when people knew how to write great music. Very enjoyable.
What a great voice! Who is she ? The tune and the voice were great.
Notes so far...
@GeoTony I'm a sucker for saxophone, and this piece is very delightful. ❤️
@wagtunes Heard this one already, and I still love it. Reminds me of those "singer-songwriter" songs of the 70s like Bob Seger and people like him.
@AlexY Who's the female vocalist? She sings very well.
I really like this piece of music. If you didn't say "close to being finished", I would've sworn it was a final product. It's like 80s Synthwave with a touch of Fleetwood Mac's softer music.
@kyrillik Still a great jam with many creative sound choices.
@DavidEnglish This piece still makes me feel peaceful with a pinch of melancholy. But that's a compliment. I really love it.
@dendy I don't know if I'd classify this as Psytrance per se, because it reminds me more of early to mid 2000s Trance. But regardless of what genre we think of it as, it's a really damn great piece of music. Not sure how this flew under my radar, but then again back in May I wasn't as active in listening to others' creations, which was dumb of me. Lol.
@BillS Very emotional song. Really amazing production from start to finish.
@Dav Ah, yes, I remember this song! It's the one that reminds me of "Quiet Village" by Martin Denny. I love it.
@ecou This one is phenomenal! I really love the choices made and the melodies.
Your music is always so well produce and with a great track is a winning combo. I am liking the little bit of shredding.
Thank you so much my friend.
Yeah, the saxophone shredding is one of my favorite parts!
This is so peaaceful. Gives me Studio Ghibli vibes. You need to do movie work.
