  • @LuizLikesKorg iMS-20 (and all the others !)

  • At the risk of sounding stupid, how do I find the joystick/Kaoss pad while using iWAVESTATION as an AUV3 in AUM?

Shows up in standalone just fine.

It's kinda hidden in the upper left corner and shows when there's some black borders around the plug-in.

  • @LuizLikesKorg I’ve been waiting for iWavestation AUv3 for so long. Thanks to the team for making my Christmas merry!

Thanks. Never would have found that.

@LuizLikesKorg I noticed that adding iWavestation to a project increases the file size quite significantly, is this as intended? iM1 doesn’t do this.

New Cubasis project with only Wavestation added is 44MB. It also does this in Zenbeats and probably every daw?

I'm not surprised at all as the wave station patches are quite complex and a full AUSnapshot needs to be saved in order to properly recall the project.

There are AUv3's that use way more storage for the snapshots than iWavestation.

  • edited December 2025

@samu Yes, maybe I’m wrong comparing it with iM1. Apps that load custom samples like koala are logically consuming a lot of storage in a project, but as the Wavestation only uses it’s internal samples i thought it would be smaller in snapshot size…

Edit: interestingly in Grooverider 2 the project file doesn’t increase much at all!

  • Wavestation has been my most used AU since the update, whereas I would rarely launch it as IAA. The value of porting to AUV3 is huge... so glad yall are actively working on Odyssei

  • It really is great @egobeats! Can’t stop playing and making patches is rewarding too

  • Update out. Working now for me! Thanks @LuizLikesKorg !!!

  • @LuizLikesKorg it might be a good idea to not ‘hide’ the joystick widget outside the main plug-in area as it will in some view-sizes be completely hidden.

    Are more visible AUParameters planned?

Midi output from the AUv3 could also be handy so the Cahos Pad output could be recorded.

Over all I’m very happy that iWAVESTATION now has AUv3 support :)

If & when iOddysei gets ported to Auv3, I sure do hope they keep the arpeggiator/sequencer included.
This particular arp has a unique feature set, and I’ve used it in quite a few of my creations.
It would be a real shame to lose it.

  • New request: the Electribe Wave sequencer as AUv3!

(and while you are at it, fix how mutes work)

And add the Drum Sequencer as an additional AUv3 (it can after all load/manage user-samples so it could be a handy tool).

But most of all I look forward to 'new' apps as updates to existing apps do not create as much additional income...

Like Korg already does with Module Pro I feel there could be an interest for additional Voice/ROM Cards for both iM1 and iWaveStation to expand the already huge palette of sounds :sunglasses:

Interesting concept! That might be something I would get, but I still lean more toward wanting User samples in the iWavestation. Why just make 100% same-for-same software replicas of hardware when they can be improved upon. 35 years later a software app should have a few new features added. For iWavestation, I think User samples would make the app more desirable to modern users. Will I get my wish… not likely, but I can still wish for it.

Korg did make an improved version of Wavestation with user samples, it’s call Wavestate. They just haven’t ported it to iOS (I have it for Mac). I think one of the biggest issues is price. Everybody expects iOS apps to $20 or less.

  • I am so excited that the guy making IOS updates hasn’t quit Korg or died.
We might see another AUv3 this decade. They don’t make any money from us early adopters…

It cracks me up that users here just start requesting the ‘next app’.

I guess you can go yell at the self-identified Korg employee who explicitly solicited suggestions for people’s preferred ‘next app’ 🤷‍♀️

    LOL.

  • Multi/poly Auv3 would be cool

I think you misunderstood the question originally asked. It was about which existing app should get the AUv3 treatment. Unless I'm the one misunderstanding.

"BTW, what should be the next app to get AUv3? Let me know."

I'm sure all input is appreciated by Korg though. It's all useful marketing data.

    That's how I read it.

How many years is it since Korg has brought out a new app on iOS? One million? Two million?

  • I don’t think I misunderstood the question.

I may have misunderstood at whom/what the snark of that one reply was directed at, but whatevs 🤷‍♀️
Not super invested in any of it…

I’ll just go ahead and reiterate the least popular response in the whole thread: iDS-10 or die!;)

Oops… the Korg guy isn’t the one that cracks me up when a vendor’s employee Id’s and gets a lot of “do this next” advice or
    Just general support requests.

I don’t have a Mac but I do have a Wavestate. I’ve long thought that iOS music apps are under-priced. If Korg decided on an iOS Wavestate app that was fully compatible with the hardware (presets, performances, soundbanks, etc.), I’d be willing to pay a lot more than $20. I’m not holding my breath, but since iWavestation already exists, maybe adding a feature like loading user samples to that app is a smaller ask…? I dunno. I have no idea what Korg’s strategy is. It seems that they have given up on the walled garden aspect of Gadget and are adding AUv3 in a piecemeal manner. I’m grateful for that, but I’d be interested in a paid IAP model to get added features while they are updating apps.

Not the sequencer or preset manager, I think.
