😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Roland Zenology GX for iPad will debut as a free download with all features unlocked for a limited time. After this period, it will be available through free and premium Roland Cloud memberships or via a Lifetime Key purchase (price TBA).
Humm ... we have two threads. I should merge them but don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. 🤔
One was four minutes earlier than this one. I guess I'll go with that.
My feelings are hurt because my post about the price don’t make sense anymore with Nino posting. 😫😭
Just kidding 😆
Sorry @wim : I didn’t see it at first
I was curious when NAMM starts… it’s Today! So, we shouldn’t have to wait too long.
No worries. The posts were literally within minutes of each other. 😎
I may not be into Zenbeats, but I'll definitely be either subbing or purchasing the lifetime key unlock for this synth, depending on how much the latter costs! Reading the article, the synth seems perfect for Ambient!
And it’s perfect for the new synth player for Logic Pro for iPad. But it’s part of the Roland cloud subscription.. So we’d have to subscribe through Zenbeats? I’m iOS only .
Lifetime Key purchase (price TBA).
@ecou : Wow, we’ll be able to just but it outright then? Suwheeet! Thanks !
You should be in Zenbeats it a really good daw.
Since this conversation is Déjà vu let me write the rest of this exchange.

Yeah but the navigation is weird or something like that.
Ecou said :
yeah the navigation is a bit weird and Zenbeats is not doing themself a favor by not updating their doc. Tell me when you wanna try it and I’ll explain.
jwmmakerofmusic said:
Yeah I should use it on my next project.
😉
7,000 PCM waveforms !! While the Roland SH-4D has only 53 PCM waveforms!
Glad they’re going to offer a lifetime purchase option but it will all depend on how much that is for me. Zenbeats prices for mobile platforms are realistic so it’ll be interesting to see what way they go with the pricing for this.
Will this be an Audio Unit do you think?
It better be as there would be no point in releasing it for the iPad if it wasn't
“Roland Zenology GX for iPad does not include the Roland GALAXIAS environment as plugins, like the Juno-106, Jupiter-8, etc are not available for iOS. Therefore, you can only load sounds based on the ZEN-Core engine.”—-Synth Anatomy
Stating the obvious from the manufacturer if you ever used the desktop version.
Unless it is only accessible within Zenbeats, which wouldn’t entirely surprise me as per ZC1.
That’s a fair point actually, it could be.
As far as I've understood it will be a free download (when released) with IAPs to subscribe to Roland Cloud or buy the unlock.
Both options will very likely require a Roland account.
As for the price there will likely be options to unlock it just for iOS or all platforms, again just like with Zenbeats.
If I would make a guess the iOS unlock will not be cheap by iOS standards and could very well land at +$99...
Day one. Amazing news.
Hope I’m wrong, but it could also be possible, from the wording so far (Lifetime Key…doesn’t that sound rather desktop?), that the iOS version comes as a free add on if you buy the desktop version lifetime key. In other words, perhaps it’s not going to be possible to just buy the iOS version on its own, thus preventing any problem with the discrepancy between the pricing of desktop and mobile versions? After all, I expect it’s Roland Cloud subscriptions they’re really after.
Either way, I expect you’re right and the price will be high either way which will count me out.
I hope you can just buy it outright in the Apple App Store rather than getting a key and having to log into Roland Cloud from time to time to re-authorise it.
Got it on desktop with the j series synths and the sh. It’s like having a Fantom series on the computer. Wonder if they’ll do anything for prior owners.
At present, there is no lifetime key available for desktop; Zenology GX is currently only accessible via Galaxias, which in turn is only accessible via an Ultimate subscription. Sadly, Roland’s pricing seems to already be causing people to autosample the instruments, which is disappointing.
I also have issues validating Zenology Pro in Logic, which is annoying as it works fine in other DAWs.
I wonder if they are thinking about porting any of their other cloud synths to iOS. That 303 would be very inviting 🥰
Ah, cool, thanks for clarifying regarding desktop lifetime key. Cheers.
I do wonder if @MatthewAtZenbeats is allowed to comment on this?
If so, maybe tease us with some specs and additional info?
