Some might wonder why we haven't announced anything officially. Unfortunately App Store didn't allowed to create the VS Bundle without having VS 2 to be ready for sale. We hope we have the bundle cleared for VS by the beggining of the next week and announce it by then.

  • @sinosoidal, congrats on the new release! Will 2 support more file types? I want to say if I moved a file straight from logic, I couldn’t do it, this would be in stand alone, I would have to alter the file in Audioshare first.

  • @sinosoidal awesome can’t wait

  • me too!
how much will that upgrade bundle be?

  • Is it already this bundle or am I missing something?
The upgrade price looks “very generous “ (100% sure it’s an AppStore unknown problem again)

About $220 with all expansions, despite the owner of V1 bundle-discount. That's about $200 more than I want to pay. Don'e get me wrong, I'm sure it's awesome and well worth it if you do professional end products with it but, for me it's just a toy and I have many others I can use instead. Sure I want it but never for that kind of money, even if I could afford it (I can't).

  • I'll stick with VS 1 for the time being since it's also useable on iPhone, but eventually I plan to get VS 2. Looks great.

I was looking at that, too. I wonder how necessary those expansions are. This is a serious investment (for iOS prices). Maybe worth it for the right person. The ads I'm getting for it on social media make it look amazing, however.

I'm curious how well it runs on older iPads - for example, an older M2 Air, for example.

  • Are v. 1 presets usable in v. 2? Some have similar or same names, but cost a few bucks less...

App Store bundles is the most confusing and non intuive thing ever made.

    • VS 2 price is set to €39.99 / $39.99 on the App Store
    • VS 1 price is set to €14.99 / $14.99 on the App Store
    • VS Bundle can only be set to in USD and the price is $39.99.

Theoretically, the upgrade should cost €24.99 / $24.99. Here in the Portugal App Store, it appears as €44.99.

I'm curious to know how it appears in the US App Store.

If there is a developer who had to struggle with this before, I would like to know their thoughts in order to make actually work right as waiting support from Apple is even worst then waiting for an App Review.

In order to sync your VS1 purchased packs with VS2 perform as follows:

    • Open VS 1, log in to your Imaginando account, and perform a restore purchases (Menu → Store → Restore Purchases).
    • Then, log in to VS 2, and the packs will sync back to VS 2.

Please try it and let me know how it went.

I’m not sure there is a good way tbh, AppStore is a mess for this. That’s why Baby Audio, when they brought out Transit2, decided to skip the bundle thing and just make the new app very cheap for the first month ($10). They said they would do the same for a month next year for anyone who missed the intro. The downside was that this was maybe too good a deal for new buyers. The upside was that they didn’t piss off the buyers of v1.

For me it does not make sense to make it ultra cheap for the first month. It is unfair for everyone.

I've increased the price of VS 1 for €5 (from 15 to 20) and it seems to be working. It is making the bundle price cheaper. I've increased from 20 to 25 now.

Can someone tell me in one hour our so whats the price of the bundle in US / UK / EU? Thanks!

  • I’m seeing VS2 at £34.99 and the bundle at £36.50.

Same, yes, actually that solution maybe doesn't work after all, because the AppStore only cares about the price you actually paid, it doesn't care how much vs1 costs now. Only solution would be to actually reduce the bundle price I think. I dunno, I'm no expert on the AppStore bundle system, it genuinely is a really subpar system for handling upgrades

See Baby Audio’s post about it here (first post in the thread): https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/66412/baby-audio-transit-2

    Hmmm, in UK it’s £5 cheaper,i.e. £30 instead of £35.

Thanks!

I see only the change in the “regular bundle price” from 55 to 65. But other prices remain

This is what they say in their official docs: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/app-bundles/

This is defintely the most incomprensible feature I've seen implemented by Apple. I've sent them a message but the answer will take more than 2 business days and will probably be a dead end.

I will keep running some more tests. There could be some detail between price updates. Please keep sharing with me screenshots of your local prices from once in a while. Thank you!

The upgrade price remains the same at £30, but the complete bundle regular price increased by £5,

Yep Nuno, what it says is 'they pay the balance'. The AppStore doesn't care what the other app costs, they only care what the person paid. So adjusting the price of VS1 after the fact won't solve this tbh. Only making the bundle cheaper will solve it.

This is also why bundles rarely reward users who bought on intro price. Desktop devs need to think about better ways to do paid upgrades, the AppStore system guaranteed that it will be unfair for someone (unless the initial app price never had an intro discount or sales, or never changed price, many users will never end up getting the bundle discount the dev hopes they'll get)

Do you mean that if the user paid $5 for the app 4 years ago, that's what is going to be discounted from the complete my bundle?

Yeah I think so, or some factor of that amount

Exactly, this is why the system is shit, it means that most hardcore app buyers who buy on intro pricing end up getting no discount from most bundles available

This is why you get scenarios like the one shown above, where it can actually work out more expensive for someone to buy via the bundle than to just buy the new app at full price

  • is this the upgrade price you intended? @sinosoidal

I bought VS1 (and all IAP) when it was on sale for £3.99. That was £8 less.

New bundle wants £36 to complete bundle (£1 more than VS2). As usual the apple bundle pricing seems to have no logic to it.

The Imaginando Complete bundle is even better. I am only missing BAM from that which is currently £17.99. To complete that bundle, it wants £45.02 🤣

Are v. 1 presets usable in v. 2? Some have similar or same names, but cost a few bucks less...

That’s really good news. I’m holding off on v2/the bundle until the situation’s settled down. Whole thing is a nightmare for devs and users as others have said, and messes up major update launches, which is really horrible for devs after all that work.
