Probably like a lot of developers they didn't tell him what the changes were going to be.

You don't have to update your iOS straight away, so if Auria is essential to you maybe you should have waited for the app update first? That's what I'm doing anyway.

Keeping up with the changes in iOS and related apps, is not as easy as many think. My eyes were opened by some of the product testing I've done. Often it can be something really silly that you would never think of to test. For example: iMini used to crash while saving a sound, but only if you used the iOS split onscreen keyboard! Bloody hell if I'd have ever thought to test all apps I've testing using a split keyboard :p The different things that need testing are vast and by the time you have, the goal posts are moved!

  • Thanks, that link works, the original doesn't. And for some reason that page didn't come up in a search when I first posted. Appreciate it!

I think it's a rather large jump from saying betas available to equating the exercise of updates to being 'easy'. Testing can be quite a long process. By the time one beta changes to another, many tests are then invalid and need repeating. I know we get anxious waiting, but I would mostly avoid the word 'easy' when in conjunction with testing :p

Yep i understand wat you mean.

But, you Think ist better to wait, And then Check it is Working?

Man fruitbart, i also Think rum die a good Job, but sometimes you must looks what is comming.

And Really when People test this And wrote on The Auria Forum, there is a Problem.

Or you can hold off your iOS update until app developers have caught up with the changes.

  • That was what I did. In fact, still on iOS 9.3!

    You're welcome, @PeterDoubt!

  • Perhaps the immediate need to write animated imessages was more important than auria. It happens.

My iPhone is running pretty well on ios10, my iPad is running well on 9.3.5 and will get ios10 at some point, but it's not crying for it now.

Yep it's not as if there was no warning. We were told about the problems. We had a choice.

@Bartlinux Do you really think that if it was that simple to do, Rim would not already have done it? It simply is not as easy or as quick as it is to complain about problems. Fixing things takes time. Moog and Korg have needed time to fix their apps in the past. Auria Pro is not a bent spoon, it is not as simple as bending it back into shape just because you know it is bent :p

Agree with Mister Bat on this one Mister Bart. Am guessing that English may not be your first language and thus your tone may be a little more harsh/entitled than you intend.

  • And just to add to my last comment:

We have also been told that some new free additions are coming, so it might be that the timing has just been inconvenient. It might be that work on the new features had to be put in place at the same time due to timing constraints. Sometimes I think some devs have earned a little faith to be placed that they do want what's best, and are doing the best they possibly can.

  • Tell me about these free additions! :D

Well we know AU is coming for one ;)

  • Really? Already in 2.06?!

  • @theconnactic said:

Don't know the timing, just that we were told AU will be with Auria at some point. I'm just guessing that when someone says that it is coming, it's usually already being worked on ;)

  • Now you got me really looking forward the update!

  • I was unsure before about the battery life issue with iOS 10.0.1

I'm pretty sure there was a slight issue now.

10.0.2 seems to have sorted the battery life issue even though it's not listed as a fix ;)

  • Don't update to iOS 10 if you are using a Steinberg UR22mkii audio interface. It no longer works with iOS 10 and there is no fix as yet

  • iOS 10 feels really stable in a lot of ways (the best stability wise transition for music making) but in others sometimes it feels like it should still be a beta.

    My main (non audio) issues:

1- Having really weird graphic issues on my iPhone 7 (I went for it)

2- on the other hand its feels like only the iPhone 7 can take some aspects of the UI where even both of my iPad (Pro 9.7 and 12.9) struggle, enter a folder and then go back to the main screen and check the apps icons, there are at least 1-2 seconds of adjustment, on the iPhone 7 everything it's really smooth.

3- Battery on my iPad Pro 12.9 gets stuck a lot at a certain point until I connect it to iTunes (this is where I lost all hope on post-PC devices) don't know what's causing this.

FWIW I'm having weird graphic issues on my 5 since going to 10.

  • How long until I get used to hitting the home button twice to turn this shit on.

I know. I have not upgraded Big Boy yet because of Auria, but reckon I have no chance of getting past the muscle memory while I have objects that do both....

Just turn it off in general - accessibility. You can also shut off the "raise to wake the screen" feature in display preferences.

Is that the standard iPhone 5? I've been holding off updating mine for years (it's on 7 something) but it really needs one so I've been considering installing 10.

Any other issues you've noticed? I've had feedback from a few others but still on the fence.

  • @MonzoPro the latest version of iOS 9 runs sweet on the 5. iOS 10 is passable with lag introduced in certain areas.
