Thanks both. I'm holding off as we have a possible house move next month, and I could be broadband free for a few weeks, so I'll be relying on the phone for email for that period...so cautious...

FWIW I'm having weird graphic issues on my 5 since going to 10.

Is that the standard iPhone 5? I've been holding off updating mine for years (it's on 7 something) but it really needs one so I've been considering installing 10.

Any other issues you've noticed? I've had feedback from a few others but still on the fence.

Seems OK, but I'm not sure I'm getting any grand improvements from where it was. Perhaps a poor data set though, my phone is having a few issues with the home button which are hardware not software related...truth is I hardly ever use it. Big Boy goes everywhere with me as does the Air1 which now looks to my myopic eyes like a phone at this point. I don't speak on thing (I only really ever speak to Mrs. Goodyear and Facetime rather than phone). I essentially have a machine which I use to text with and lives in my pocket as if a yogurt carton on an invisible string so Madam feels I am in range of her requirements at all times. Comforting actually, I consider it the measure of our marriage that I don't mind...

Ah ok thanks Captain. I've got the visual aid accessibility on-screen button on my screen - saves wear and tear on the real one, which packed up on my last phone. I'd recommend enabling that (if it still exists) if yours is giving you jip.

  • Updated the 6s this morning. It's all a bit meh really, although the lift-to-wake thing is quite handy.

Anybody tried IOS 10 with Alesis IO Dock? Just wondering if this will initiate any issues in my set up.

  • So far just shorter battery life, scroll bug in long pages with photos (safari) and super confusing unlock. Way to go Apple

  • Any wifi problems / weirdness / inexplicable disconnecting / no internet?

  • iOS 10.1 beta 1 ipad Pro 12.9, everything it's working much better than 10.0.2, i still think ios 10 was strongly designed with the iphone 7 (an future ipads) in mind, it's still incredibly fast, great performance, battery it's as good as it was and it's still my favorite iOS device ever but on some graphic aspects of the OS the iPad Pro seems unable to get as good as a performance as my iPhone 7 and that's the only time it feels slower, iPhone 7 with iOS 10 it's flawless and super smooth (there's some graphics issues but those are obviously bugs to be fixed)

Funny you should mention it. But I've had that since before iOS 10. Even had my wireless box changed. Seems very much just my iPad playing up now, but realistically could be our crap internet. Always used to be better internet connections when I lived up north :p

  • They've removed the star ratings from the music app. Arrrrgh, more than a decade's worth of music library organisation down the pan. This is exactly what I hate about Apple, make sweeping changes without any regard for users.

There's your planned absolescence. In fact I don't even think it is planned. Simply new software gets designed for new hardware and only optimised for older devices within reason. I very much believe in PA when it comes to the quality of the internals, especially battery. No news I guess.

I still have a little hope it's going to get "fixed" as I said it's getting better but who knows, it's still surprising considering the iPhone 7 and the iPad Pro are almost on par CPU wise (iPhone 7 being just a little faster).

There's got to be quite a bit of a difference otherwise apps would be universal from the word go. It seems like the more different devices Apple introduce, the more problems of sorts there will be. I'm not saying it won't be sorted just releasing a major update will always be a hassle for both sides: Apple and the customers.

  • Took the plunge & updated on air2. Trying to ignore the pointless format changes & usual apple f@&£wittery, however....am now getting the 'iPad not charging' alert, using standard cable which it had been plugged into before, during & after the update, having had no previous issues. No sign of 'this cable is not supported'.

Once I rebooted my iPad with the lightning cable still plugged in and charging, after the reboot the cable stopped working (it worked sporadically for a while before finally dying), no idea what happened. Have you tried with another cable?

Yeah, switched cables (3) several times, nope. Re-restarted. Original cable seems to be working again. :*

Is this a bug or is that it, all gone? Like you, my entire music library has been painstakingly rated (12,000+ tracks) and it's all controlled by playlists working off ratings, last played etc. I never ever thought that system would be ditched... Is it still there in iTunes? I haven't updated that for a while. I can't update to iOS 10 now knowing the ratings may not work :#

How long until I get used to hitting the home button twice to turn this shit on.

On my iPhone 6S I really hate this doubletap homebutton behavior!

I working as an plumber daytime and the button on my iPhone get pressed all the time thru the fabrics contra tools I've got in the near pocket...

I refuse to have any timedelaying passcode (an solution for unwanted unlocking in the pocket)...

Apple, why can't we always has an option to restore earlier functions in the settings?

I hate when other people force me to change a function to something worthless...

It's still there in iTunes for now, but the writing is clearly on the wall. The thing is I mostly listen to music on the phone. And I rate the songs on the phone while listening to them. It's how I've been doing things since my first iPod back in 2002/2003.

You can still use Siri to rate songs on the go. But for how long? The feature will be gone at some point for sure.

Now I will have to convert everything to the like/dislike system instead. Thanks for making things simpler Apple!

  • Anyone tested some music apps with ios10 ? Love to read some more info about music apps and ios 10.

I posted a reply to that post originally, just go to settings - general- accessibility- home button and Select "rest finger on home button." when I touch the home button one time my phone is unlocked, just like it was before ios10. Do you have the fingerprint option on? That should prevent and enable what you want unless I misunderstand.
