It looks like Apple didn't review the latest build in time so it will likely be Monday before it goes live unfortunately! however......

I have the host-synced tempo working in AUM, using tempo synced grains turns spacecraft into a very rhythmical instrument. This is a game changer for creative expression and is very non-invasive in the interface:

    Amen to tempo sync 🙏

I will be pushing for those triplets and dotted notes in the secret sauce menu 😏

And /2 , *2 sync for the greedy ones ?!!

  • currently 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4

I might add an advanced option for triplets too.

I am definitely going to need 1/128. Even 1/256 if you can squeeze that in. I am starting a new genre too, so 7/31 sync ratio is the future. You might as well add it now.
    :D

I am really grateful for any future enhancements to your amazing app. I was actually quite satisfied with the release version, so anything you add or make more convenient is greatly appreciated. This app is truly phenomenal. :)

    Ohh, triplets would be awesome.

Good stuff, thanks for the rapid updates!

  • You guys are forcing my hand lol buying this app today... Jerks 😂
    Take all my money iOS!!
Great to hear everyone loving it and seeing the dev work on it still...

    Sold !

As you know, when using as an AU, currently the only way to get audio into spacecraft is to use the 'mic record' feature. However, I just noticed something: this works fine if you setup some audio source in the 'sources', however, if you have the sources blank then after attempting to record with the mic feature the audio cuts out in the app. EDIT: This occurs if there is no sound entering spacecraft (I just debugged this!)

So in the mean-time (I will fix this in the next update), make sure you have at least 'hardware input' (AUM) selected in the source when using as AU and that there is sound playing into spacecraft.

V1.0.2 has just went live by the way (I didn't think it would happen over the weekend :)

  • Such a cool app, thanks! I noticed there doesn’t appear to be MIDI support say for an external controller like a keyboard? Is there any planned support for it in the future? If not maybe MIDI external clock sync?

  • @Deven there is midi support in the (in progress) VST version, but not yet for iOS. I still have to take some time to research the ins and outs of midi in iOS TBH.

  • Very useful update thanks :)

I just sent an email asking for the ability to select no notes on the keyboard to mute the sound and start when you want! Thanks for the update.

Maybe down the line there could be the option to not have the keys latch? Then you could really play this....

  • Thanks for the sweet weekend update @deltaVaudio

  • Wow. Almost 350 posts in and I think I’m finally going to fork out the $3 for this app. I haven’t read any of the previous posts beyond this page, way too many! I did watch the djpuzzle and thesoundtestroom videos though. I’m not the biggest fan of granular, but this seems like I’d probably use it more than say boarderlands granular. Time will tell, or maybe time will disappear if I get sucked into this like it seems other people are.

It would make this app usable in a professional environment. At the least and until you do a full MIDI implementation the MIDI clock sync (as an on/off option) to an external hardware source would get this in the car to record with DAW bpm and sync with other hardware. Good job on this!

  • In case any of you happen to be in the least bit interested ;) I've had quite a fun day coding. I've just uploaded the following for beta testing:
    1. SYNC!!!!! in standalone you can choose your tempo, as AU it uses the host temp (this to me is the most exciting aspect of SpaceCraft)
    2. single note mode on keyboard, so you can move your finger fast over the keys to play melodies without latching (true multitouch will come later though)
    3. scale mode on pitch/mod XYpad (quantises the pitch to whatever scale the keyboard is in)
    4. now when you record the sound doesn't cut out on the other sequencer
    5. added a monitor button which appears when you record input
    6. fixed bug (see above) where it freezes when you try to record in AU when there's no audio input

You will notice that you have the option to perform on the same sequencer that you are recording the input on, this is basically live granular synthesis on an input (like granular delay I guess). This will evolve to a more official feature in a future update (with some sort of 'live record' option I guess).

Tomorrow I will continue wrestling with the file loading/saving in AU and hopefully find a way to load files when iCloud drive is not enabled. Still looking into Audioshare SDK in parallel to all this.

  • Wow! And this could be available like what - end next week? Hoping...!! This will change the use of app for sure
