Just for sake of thoroughness, you should reboot the iPad to be sure there aren’t any “ghost processes” running in the background, then check battery usage again.
Have you confirmed in Settings that drambo is the cause of the battery drain?
Does the battery monitor split its statistics into host vs. individual AUv3 plugins?
This, or something like it was the culprit. I installed the latest update and after a reboot the same patches that I listed above are running a lot cooler with little battery drain.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
No, but I've had dead processes, badly written apps and stuff like that eating my batteries more than once. So it's just meant as a basic step to make absolutely sure it's Drambo and plugins and not something else.
Is there any way to modulate knobs that are not modulatable (no small triangle to the left) other than using P-locks?
Trying to modulate the Scale knob in the CV Quantizer with an LFO. It works well with P-locks and the slider, but would like to try some automation on this.
Curious as to why all knobs are not made modulatable by default?
It's because modulation usually works at audio rate and allowing it for every knob could kick up CPU load by quite an amount. A more generic solution (like modulation of almost any parameter with typical LFO rates) might be available soon though 😊
I believe it does. Certainly, I've seen AUv3 plug-ins listed as if they were apps, showing their runtimes along with AudioBus.
that is great news
ah, got it. thanks!
I’ve been messing with Turnado with the reactor effect and it’s called a transient looper. Is it possible to recreate that in Drambo with like a transient detector and the buffers? I’m having trouble finding much info on what a transient looper is but I’m assuming transients trigger loops
The first step is to understand what the effect does. Got any dry/wet audio demos?
Yeah here’s a file doing the dry wet on a bass line. The parameters for the effect on Turnado are a hold time, a speed setting that either freezes, loops, or brings in a reverb or something and then the last parameter is to change the pitch and I guess transients are what trigger everything
Is this for fun / out of interest, or is there some reason why Turnado couldn’t just be used directly.
What is the native looper? The flexi sampler works as an audio looper so are we talking about some kind of midi-loop sequencer? Also a clip launcher was mentioned on the roadmap. Is there a connection ?
Here’s rs2000’s clip launcher created in a modular way.
It uses the on screen pads and can be adapted to use midi notes or cc messages.

Thanks @Gravitas 👍🏼
Flexi does overdub recording. Are you using the latest Drambo version?
I'm looking forward to the video synth
Video synth?
Developer had mentioned it was on the to do list. That and clip launcher excite me the most. A video synth module for midi controlled and synced visuals is going to be awesome
Ahhh, I still haven't read the to do list I must admit.
Yeah, a video module is going to be great stuff.
We already have a clip launcher made in a modular way see above.
Saw that and looks great but also excited to see what drambo makes
I didn't have the patience to wait so I adapted the launcher to
launch Euclidean sequencers, the cv sequencer, gate+velocity sequencer,
arpeggiator, Graphic modulator, dRambo within dRambo using midi mutes
which can also be adapted to mute channels in AUM or anything that accepts midi notes or cc messages.
Currently thinking about what can be done with LFO's and the filters.
So what out of fun but I like the effect a lot and would like a way to do it when I’m doing stuff on my iphone. It would be cool to dissect what’s going on there too by building it
I was just curious about the motive, I didn't mean to imply it was a bad thing. I agree it's fun and educational to re-create patches, pedals, apps, etc in modular. Good point about the phone too. I forgot Turnado is iPad only.
Thanks for the audio example. I don't hear any transient dependent processing, it rather sounds like a pitch shifted, constantly slowed down audio buffer, maybe two or three buffers faded into each other to make it sound seamless and to mute the necessary buffer resets to start slowing the live audio down again.
@Fingolfinzz
Try this one as a starter. Hit play, scroll to the end of the track and switch between Source, FX1 and FX2. Lots of knobs to tweak to your liking 😉
It's too big to post here so I've uploaded it on patchstorage. Work in progress.
