I would say it's an experimental sound generator made for people who don't want to mess with modular synths like miRack or Drambo.
Ha! Yes, I know what the app is. But not why the price increased. I had it on my "don't really need it but might buy if the price drops a bit" list. Thank you anyway :-)

It's not unusual for apps to go up in price a bit. Can't recall all of them, but from memory, I can at least state Animoog, Samplr, Spacecraft as some of the cases
edit: Checked and the highest it was before was 20.99 and the last price was 19.99
Maybe something to do with exchange rates?
Inflation too, not a lot is getting cheaper at the moment.
You can use this for setting the maximum volume when using studio monitors.

Ok I see, I don't have time to watch the movies but so would you just turn your monitors all the way up and limit the volume with the app ? So like. Even if the internal volume of the ipad is much higher the signal going to the monitors won't go past a certain decibel?
You will blow your ears if/when you output mastered audio that peaks around 0db since the video tells you to calibrate using -20db pink-noise...

lol or maybe you could take 5 seconds to say yes or no. "yes, no matter how high you push your volume it wont increase on the monitors a certain amount." or "no it doesn't do that". because of the answer is no then I really don't care for the app I have no use for it I don't need it and I'm not going to waste five minutes and 39 seconds of my life watching a video about an app that I wouldn't need however if it's a yes that interest me a little more and then maybe I would've invested five minutes 39 seconds into the video so.... Who's the lazy one? it was a simple enough question yes or no answer... But you couldn't even bother to reply but you did use in fact more words and letters to tell me to watch the video of then to say "yes" or "no". so anyway. whatev. im waiting for different app sales anyway

well im over it. i apologize if i was rude. just felt like you were being rude to me cus i said i couldnt watch it and you still just told me to watch it when i thought it was a simple enough question. also rough day at work, stupid drama and corporate stretching us out suuuper thin so i was in a semi manic "ok gotta do this, but dont forget about this.. ill fill out this paperwork while im teaching a client how to use their own ipad. oh crap theres a fire in the kitchen, perfect ill put it out while i refill my water cup which ive needed to do for a bit... and then you were like "sounds like you need to stop being lazy and watch the video" and i took it from that mindset and i guess it struck a cord. but im over it and now that i have time i will. so i apologize for the name calling mr non producer sir.

yeah, the war is over. but the developers still push on with relentless progress, ruthlessly leaving behind older software and Inter-App Audio to die on the command line..
but yeah cool. the price went back up but thats ok. thanks for taking the time!! ive been fine without it so far,, although sometimes i wonder if there is really anything to those audio spectrum analysis apps that youre supposed to compare your mastered track to a reference track and see muddy frequencies supposedly.. idk im a by ear kinda guy. looking at a waveform and thinking i need to lower that part doesnt interest me as much as playing it from my headphones, then my monitors, then my ipad speakers, ditto phone speakers as im getting out my bluetooth ear buds, then those, and finally the car stereo. i dont really want to add an extra visual step because im a perfectionist and i will tinker and tinker and cut freqs and boost some and slice and dice and tinker and tinkerbell and peterpan the tracks vital hand off leaving an out of place hook...
i already ruin my mixes that way. lately been trying to just lay down the whole track really quickly, only adjusting volume faders and maybe light EQ if a sample has some peircing tones.. and then go back through QUICKLY again,, wait.. then go back through QUICKLY again. and keep referencing and asking my local rapper friend if its quality..
im rambling, sorry. still have the wartime jitters

@pr4y_4_beats not to derail things too much since it’s a sales thread, but you’d use a db meter to measure sound pressure levels in a room (essentially measuring how loud something is). It’s a measurement tool rather than an audio effect. This (and others like it) is just running on your phone or iPad rather than having a physical SPL meter.
For the effect you are imagining, a limiter could do this, but really is best to just not have things up so loud that you’d need a limiter as that will change the sound or at least have an effect on it. That’s a different use than using a limiter as an audio effect, for example to control volume spikes of an audio track or in mastering to even out overall volume spikes and limit them (hence the name!).
You will often find a limiter on an in ear monitor amp for example though so that if there was a sudden spike in volume you don’t deafen the musicians…but I tend to have my in ear monitors running quiet enough that even if there was a sudden loud sound it couldn’t be loud enough to damage my hearing, so the limiter really would be just a last line of defense.
