  • I don't want that "find my iphone" in my Ipad:-(

  • OK. Off to Blighty in a few days and have decided it can all wait until I get back. While I fully understand the usefulness of exchanging stories as regards what isn't working. what would also help those of us on the fence would be some idea as to "It's a bit clunky out of the box but you should see the colors!" by which I mean what are the immediate upsides/pluses for diving in (especially as regards music....)?

  • IAA not working very well in Auria. Some Crash here. Air 1

  • My v8.3.1 iPad Air is going to wait until things settle down with music apps. I'm curious, though, to hear how this performs on iPad 2; mine is still on 7.1.2.

  • No problem with IAA in Auria here on iPad4 iOS9.

  • Take it back. AB remembers a launched app for a little while then forgets it.

  • The volume indicator has gone missing?

so i tried promidi and maybe its all in my head, but im finding much faster. before, i would tap to make a new clip, go into it to edit, then go back to the main window, create another... and it felt sluggish and slow, now it feels faster. and if i had more than one synth app, it would be worse... [havent tried sequencing multiple apps though]

i never use it with IAA though, just have promidi send midi to the synths and record on either audioshare or auria.

that was one of the reasons why i preferred midi editor, because midi editor is so quick and fast, but the sad thing is that it did not send clock out [and that it was simple to da max], so for me recording stuff was a bit complex, but it worked nevertheless.

anyway, apart from midi editor dying on ios9 and audiobus not showing any apps, i haven't come across any weirdness or problems so far with my beat up ipad 4.

edit - sorry if its all useless btw.

I'm not sure, since I haven't done the update yet, but additionally, a lot of people are reporting that the apple slider doesn't do anything immediately after the update, so they can't get in. Time will tell I guess.

This has always been the case in my experience after a reboot. the iPad throws up the login screen where nothing works for while. It used to go blank and then you could open it and use it as usual, one of the 8.x updates changed it to just stay up when it finally became functional. At least this has been the behavior on my iPad 4.

  • looks like gadget is updated for ios9. Nice turnaround Mr Korg.

  • Downloading now, the sooner I install the update the sooner I can work with the devs to get the apps I care about fixed and the sooner they will be fixed. If they are not that interested then the sooner I can delete their apps and start using others that work right.

  • Nobel. Was thinking of sacrificing my mini along the same lines but there are some small cool apps by single individuals who may not have the bandwidth of the big guns and I would hate to lose those apps.

  • So I guess it's now too late to upgrade to ios 8?

  • Bit of a longshot but if anyone could test MidiLFO with Egoist I would be in your debt!

I look at it as purely self interest. I think the larger companies are the worst offenders, Korg, IKM, etc. I believe that often they farm out updates like this to contractors and the contracts, politics, and budgets just slow the whole thing down. For a little one man company its just losing more sleep and maybe the wife and kids. :(

The small shops need all the help they can get, the sooner you can clearly report your issues and help them test them the better. I can;t see many having either the time or money to have all the iDevices and OSes needed to fully test something like this. Thats why its way more critical for as many of us to test them ASAP with whatever device and OS combination we have and clearly document the issues we have and then help them by testing the fixes if they do not have our device or OS version.

Hmmm, looks like my install just hit that long pause near the end, waiting . . . . .

Tis the price of decent midi sync.

    Cold. But true.

I stayed off 8.4 because it took iTunes Home Sharing away and I couldn't stream all my uploaded CDs in iTunes on the iMac. A google search revealed it's actually back in for iOS 9. I'm happy but surprised. The New Apple TV took iTunes music away to drive people to Apple Music, so I wasn't expecting to see it ever put back in for the iPad. Personally, I'll still going to sit on the sidelines until the dust settles.

Alchemy and Gadget are my two apps I'm waiting for full confirmation. Great to hear the early reports! I was afraid my iPad Air 1 would be forever frozen on iOS 8.4.1 because of Alchemy.

I still worry about alchemy going up in flames at some point.

  • !!!!!Quick warning!!!! As soon as you update your device, turn off the automatic app update!!! I keep mine off but they turn it back on.

!!!!!Next!!!! I purposely deleted Alchemy and reinstalled it right before so I could try installing the presets...no go. It said Transaction Failed. The App Store does not recognize the product!

As far as everything else? Well, the text is driving me bonkers. More bloat-ware but like we were told, I got more than a 1gb free. But it does seem a bit faster. I don't know

  • No Audiobus apps found? When i try to open one of my saved Audiobus patches it links me to the appstore......what a crap..... here we go again......

Yes, need to wait for an audiobus update.

There's a workaround - first you start all the apps used in your patch, then open your patch. Currently, it detects only apps that are already running

  • Audiobus works but you have to load the apps before starting it, the fix is coming in a few days apparently.

Hey @GRiker thanks for your feedback!

I was able to use Alchemy, I have all my IAP's. I didn't delete it and reinstall it.

I could get audiobus to work with the ipad speaker as an output, and a bit with Multitrack DAW, which was a miracle. I love that app, but haven't gotten it to work with AB or IAA for quite a while now.

Audiobus didn't work with Auria at all for me. ipad air 1. I tried a bunch of different loading ways. I got audiobus to recognize apps if they launched first, like mentioned above.

IAA with Bias FX into Auria worked pretty good for me. It seemed to be using more CPU than before. in the 50 and 60% ( just 1 track, 2nd track recording with 1 IAA effect - Bias FX) CPU warning came up a bunch while recording. I did manage to get my second guitar part tracked in Auria, in stereo. Which didn't seem to want to happen after my fiasco prior to the update.

I don't think that had much to do with ios9, but maybe.

audiobus into auria worked for me. i had sector sending audio into auria and the only problem i had was that auria wasnt showing up, even though i had both sector & auria open first. switching to auria a bunch of times made it show up and recorded audio without issues.

and like i wrote above, im on a ipad 4.

Went ahead and jumped in with my iPad mini2. Man it's great! The scroll text thing and Picture in picture are awesome and just plain useful. Alchemy with presets and Gadget are flawless. The larger folders are handy and pretty. I even had a folder of "dead/broken" apps and one of the two of em actually works! So far, so good

I installed iOS 9 on my iPad Air 2 this morning. Some Synths using IAA don't work properly on Cubasis, Garageband and Beatmaker 2. Hopefully there is an update to fix the IAA issues. There is audio interference, distortion and clicking using iPolysix on IAA. There is also a problem using iProphet with IAA on Cubasis as there is severe latency problems and audio interference. Using iProphet with IAA on Beatmaker 2 works great its just when using with Cubasis there is an issue. I wonder if I should downgrade back to iOS 8.4.1 until those issues are fixed.

Be interesting to hear more confirmation that Auria's ok, particularly using AB as that's my main workhorse.

  • Also musix pro is not working on iOS 9... is the same as last year with iOS 8 and they took months to fix it, it's a shame because it's a great controller...
