Or fixing back together the endless loop of Sinclair MicroDrive and it's housing.

  • GuitarCapo+ is one of our best unsung heroes. the only guitar app that can tear me away from guitarism, it's really a great app!

Groove Machine Mobile is really underrated, I believe. There is so much more under the hood then at first glance. Plus everything I make on my iPad, I can transfer to my PC version. I believe you can also do this with the Android version.

It is also good for playing live what you created.

I really liked this when it was released, Within a couple of hours I made a couple of tunes that i was really proud of (hear them here), but then something happened with it and since iOS and Audiocopy updates I can no longer get the audio out of it, and very little response from the devs. A real shame as this thing is a groove box that easily out performs both electribe and circuit.

Yeah, they added sample import, which never quite worked properly for me, and then nothin' :(

I see folks complaining about bugs and silence....think they agree with you :) Hard to pony up another ten bucks in light of the many other variations that are now available. What was/is the unique proposition of this one for you?

It is the only app where I opened it, finished a track, then closed it, without uttering any expletives. And I did that twice :), and when I say app, I mean music software. I have been doing this for over 20 years and this was a first for me.

It was instant creation, and instant live performance recording, that could then be tidied up with easy editing afterwards. Pure enjoyment.

Unlike most other apps it didn't get in the way of my idea, and it didn't make me change my idea based on what I couldn't do, I didn't get distracted trying to work out how to do something. Even though it is a closed environment, I didn't feel the need to try and use any other apps alongside as I could do what i wanted within.

    Until it broke that was.

I'm still keeping my eye on it, hoping they do more with it. I doubt they will in the short term though as I think they are concentrating on FL Studio Mobile 3 which, looking at the screen shots, they have used GM Mobile as a test bed for the UI.

IF, when FLSM 3 comes out it is as nice to use as GM Mobile was, IMHO it will blow away all of the current iOS sequencers, and possibly MAC and Windows ones too.

Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate them. Have never been an FL user, but I think there's a number of folks who are keeping an eye out for FL3, as we are for one or two other things :)

Adding strng and elsa by Erik Sigth. Don't let the two dollar price tags (or the more toy-like novelty of his earlier synths) fool you into thinking they're on the low-quality end of music apps.

Strng is especially a favorite for me, so here's a link. So easy to get a variety of great sounds.

Agreed on Mister Sigth. Some good stuff. I like voice bot. Unique....

  • Op! Forgot that one, it's my go to for 'vocoder' effects. So yes, those three of his are all fantastic.

Speaking of vocoder, any other high quality ones out there? iVoxel doesn't cut it, mostly cause it always acts up.

  • I think we should open this thread anew every 3 months or so! So glad to be reminded of these apps.

iVoxel is the best option AFAIK, it's pretty good IMO. There's Voice Synth as well, but funnily enough that's the one that I find always acts up, last time I tried it I couldn't get any sound at all out of it.

Haven't opened it in a while but believe iVoxel had a healthy update (open in, paste etc) in September...

  • Thanks for Voice bot, totally went under my radar ! gonna use this A LOT !

As an electribe user, it was one of the draws for me. I even bought it for my touch-screen PC which works the same as the iPad. I had the same experience with being able to just start creating with it.

Two great tracks you did there, by the way!

I can get audio out via audiocopy (iOS 9.0.2 iPad mini 2), but I can't see it in iTunes if I render it normally. I usually pick one of the default songs before I close the app as I seem to remember losing some data once. Other then that I haven't lost any other data. Was hoping for the ability to add audio tracks, but now I am in the same boat keeping an eye on FL Studio 3 mobile.

What I love about Vbot is that you can play 'the tune' across the keyboard without any new note restarting the sample. This (for me) separates the sheep from the goats.

  • Just had fun with a sample "bpm trimmed" in audioshare, and Vbot in the effect slot (using chordpolypad to trigger it) and was thinking that to myself :

  • A great, but probably not amazing app, that I think it's unsung (even though it's a singing app) is Singaling.

does it have export to audio share?

I'll never be totally satisfied with iOS for reverb, but Singaling Is still the best for a cheap emulation of the Sam Cooke-ish 610/ribbon mic vocal reverb of the early 60s.

You can have a quick & dirty romp with all the effects on on a guitar as well

Believe it or not, the cheesiest voice app is my favorite.

It is Robo Voice from the guy who did RD4.

It is really pretty cool. Check it out.

I never gave Voice BOt the time it deserves.

  • @RustiK said:

I love still VOX3000. That retro voice is so great when you add some good FX on it.

Looks like this is suffering with ios9. Lots of complaints about it not opening, BUT folks -prior to that- do seem to like it...have to agree @Cinebient about VOX3000. Old school but comforting and capable if you get in amongst it...

  • @TozBourne @oat_phipps - agreed, playing hide the theremin is jolly good fun ... er, I mean, Singaling is a great app. It's not the best, but it's dead easy to use and I can dial in some nice FX I can't quite coax out of other vocal apps. Worthy addition to the arsenal.

  • Wow by Sugar Bytes. I remember when I first run samplr through it. Instant wetness.

Never used Singaling, will give it a try, especially as am looking for distraction from the house full of young males who are due to run about causing semi-legal pumpkin-related trouble (AND they're staying the night, grrrr). In other news, I suppose most of life can be separated into those times we hide the theremin and those times we hunt it...
