I AM ADDING AN APP TO MY THREAD OFFICIALLY!

    EARHOOF

Why is not everyone going mad about this app?

IT IS INSANELY COOL and CREATIVE.

NOT TO MENTION LOADED WITH GREAT LOFI, DEEP, and ABSTRACT sounds you generally have to "look" for.

SUPER cool parameters and functionality options!

    LOVE THIS APP

  • Shhh. Earhoof is the sekrit top loop sauce.

  • agreed! have many apps like Earhoof waiting in the wings for Link. Cube synth is an old favourite, tweak and morph for hours! Amazing architecture

  • Huh, had never seen Earhoof before. Between "discovering" Strom and Earhoof, it feels like Christmas.

Oh yeah. Both of those puppies have a lot of fun in them also......should be noted, for those who care, that while I can open/use Strom on my Air1, no luck (instacrash) on the new Big Boy :(

  • I don't think zMors modular gets enough love, really. You get an incredible amount of tools for your money... I'm guessing the very nature of the app is off-putting to the casual synthesist. It's learning curve is steep - and there's arguably no "instant gratification" factor - but it's extremely deep and rewarding.

Also, the free MIDILinkSync is invaluable for using my Link apps with either hardware sequencers or non-Link apps (of which there are sadly still too many). It really has made my mini 4, Pro and 4S into viable studio partners for my actual drum machines and synths. The fact it's free is the icing on the cake.

    Agreed

As usual, non ABUS is a problem of traction for apps.

I still bought this a while ago.

Presets are fun to tinker with. App sound quality amazing

    It's funny how that works.

I actually like to but a random consonant and a random vowel in the Audiobus app search area and am always surprised what comes up.

Ah... I forgot it's not AB compatible. Been using it in AUM exclusively.

  • StepPolyArp

  • New one: Noiz

Watch this app. It's getting really interesting now you can edit your own piano-roll loops and synth patches.

More planned for it I believe.

One of those: If they take it on it might be great. I can fiddle with this and get a great groove going very quickly, but then, oh yeah, you can't get it out....

  • Best unsung amazing app for me is yamaha TNR E.This app is very underrated and rarely mentionned here (only few thread ).I guess People were upset because yamaha released two expensive 20 euros tnr app instead of only on e with iap.But Tnr e is really instant fun ,something like Ikaossilator, figure or nodebeat with midi control so you can drive all your Korg and Moog synth. Xynthesizr, arpeggionome, quincy and oscillab are great toô, but nothing is so powerfull, deep and fun as tnr-e .I dont have Tnr-i but I guess it s a kind of first version of tnr-e .

  • OSCILAB is really best app.

  • Poly. Just delving into it but it's awesome! Polyrhythms ftw!

Comes up with some really cool offset beats for sure.

I havent' done much MIDI control yet with it

Loving Poly & Caelestis too. With midi, Poly is a whole new animal. Got Strom as a result of this thread. What a weirdly fun app!

Interested in Earhoof too, but it doesn't look like it's had an update in a long time. Maybe it doesn't need one?

    Doesn't need one.

It is like in the SAMPLR / STROM niche.

Except imagine it as more beat or rythmic based rather than melody of those two.

It is worth it, I swear. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE INTO CINEMATIC, ABSTRACT, INDUSTRIAL, HARD, or IDM HOUSE.

Potentially of all time in some respects.

    SOLID APP

    I really do.

If you like to PLAY DRUMS ON DRUM PERFECT PADS and STROM, then you will love this.

HUGE parameter controls of unique matrix styles

  • Earhoof is seriously under-rated I think. Nice design, a thing unto itself, easy to get into, and makes noises one wants to keep. Never make a cake with this, but will give you much percussive icing...

I'm very intrigued. It looks like a good interface to add sound while watching your video edit. STR vid says you can import your own samples too.

Just concerned that it hasn't been updated in a couple years and it doesn't look like the dev has uttered a peep anywhere in over a year. I know it's quite likely that the app is solid and doesn't need any updates, but with AB3 around the corner, it makes me wonder if iOS and AB updates tend to break older apps? I know that I have a few older apps that claimed to be AB compatible, I bought them, then find they were never updated to AB2 and don't work in AB anymore.

Since it's clear you must have a vast library of iOS music apps at this point ;) what has your personal experience been with older (seemingly abandoned) apps breaking after iOS and AB updates? Is it fairly rare? Or more common that the devs need to update regularly to keep them running?
