I dont have to be ready for auria pro, already have cubasis.

My portforlio manager says I need to hedge with it!

  • I have cubasis too but this will be so much better 8)

I'm looking forward to how Auria Pro works out for you, since we both have the same issues with Cubasis and Attack on the same hardware. If the grass is a lot greener, I'll be glad to put Cubasis aside for Auria Pro.

I suspect after all the waiting and chatter we won't be short of reports from the Auria Pro field as soon as it gets out of the secret bunker etc :)

  • waiting.....................maybe in 2017?

  • Sorry to say, but i feel sorry for those of you that are craving this app

I really do hope that if and when it comes out it makes you happy

Its been months and months and was supoosed to be out in the spring...

I think its an insult on the developers part and i see there are some beta testers on this thread, id like to ask them what kind of testing they are doing as its been in beta so long..

My prediction is that it will come out next year, there will be some excitement, some dissapointment and some anger. And as always, even this mythical app will leave peeps craving that "something extra" and baited breath will be had en masse when we hear rumours of other forthcoming daw like apps

    Soeaking of which:

    Beatmaker 2- where are you?

Nanostudio 2- i dont think we will see you till summer 2016:(

So i stick with gadget, im happy, not craving anything, but i do feel that kirnu cream will be an instabuy for me

  • @touchconspiracy, I don't share this opinion.

Kudos to Auria's dev and team, and the betatesters.

  • It's been a marathon of work for Rim with many 14 hour days for him...it's a great achievement for essentially a one man team. For an app this complex and with so many integrated deep plugins there's just so many places bugs can come up.

    It's so close now.

Obviously can't talk about details until release but I love it!

  • I want a 'good' internal synth engine.
Everything else can be dealt with.
I want to be able to exchange projects with other users, none of this crap you get with Korg Gadget, where you have to dig around in iTunes.

I have a terrible feeling though. Both Steinberg and WaveMachine will have looked at the iPad pro, and probably think its a channel to make us pay more for a Pro specific version of the app.

  • I don't have any issues with the length of time the new version is taking - this is a complete DAW, not a single synth or effect so the amount of work is probably tenfold. Factor in compatibility and plugin issues and there's a massive amount of work to do. Kudos to the developer for taking it on.

  • @touchconspiracy

If there's one thing everybody should have learned by now about software development of any kind, it's that you should just ignore target release dates. Reminds me of my days waiting for the Nintendo 64 and all those video game pushbacks.

I think the notion of live and let live applies here, along with a healthy dollop of po.

  • I am on the beta team, I think it's OK to reveal that at this stage so close to release. All I can say is that all the bugs I submitted were fixed, and that Rim was amazingly responsive to feedback. I recorded a video of the piano roll editor in Gadget to show how well optimised it was for a touch interface and Rim implemented everything I (and others) requested.

At the same time, I've been involved in beta testing for desktop apps for many years, and I know from experience that major software releases are unpredictable, especially when anticipation is high. It's impossible to please everyone, so inevitably some people will be let down or have expectations that aren't met.

On the other hand I really think that for one man to create such a complex piece of software is pretty incredible. And yes there will be bugs when it's first released, because a small number of beta testers can't possibly test every single workflow. But I'm pretty sure those early bugs will be squashed very quickly.

1.It will be released THIS year.

2.The beta period of the first Auria (3 years ago) took about 6 weeks,no difference here.

3.you have no clue what you talk about and we all know already that Gadget is THE shit for you.Move on,nothing to see here.

Sorry, but i couldnt ignore such negative vibes (that are based purely on speculations)
As others pointed put,WML are working their asses off to finish it.And they always had a better support than most other Software developer (in general, not only iOS related).Dont worry.

And it still won't write your songs for you rueful-reminder-to-self-face...

  • It's close, as has been said, and the wait will have been worth it as long as you are looking to do the things it does. As most of what I do is mixing recordings of live music, auria has been incredible and pro more so. I'm not a huge midi user, but having midi integrated will be nice.

To echo others (again) Rim has always been straightforward and an excellent programmer, and this will be no exception. As with any software, there will be small bugs found along the way, but I can assure you that beta testing was very thorough and there's no hidden agendas at all.

  • Wow I didn't knew he's all alone. wow. Hats off man.

  • I was a tester too, and the process not only impressed me again with the app and WML, but also the community: testers/our peops really stepped up and were incredibly thorough and painstaking.

I never really understand this one. Pains Taking or Pain Staking? Did you take the pain or did you stake it?

    @JohnnyGoodyear
    It's a dude: Pa Insta-King
The "Pa" is the honorific, like "Bro"
To say the testers were Pa Insta-King is some really big ups, like saying they were A #1.

Careful, Mrs. Goodyear's people disguised themselves as folks from New Hampshire, but they're really all gruff hicks from the Alabama reaches of Pennsylvania. Not that I'm overthinking family this afternoon or anything...

Wait a minute ! When you say "was a tester" do you mean that Auria pro has been submitted to apple already ?
