  • Just to make sure, you're trying a MIDI track, not audio?

    Audio oops!
am I bad (or tired after a cajonas ache of a day).
Thanks for the quick help CalCutta.

  • Can any one record Fugue Machine midi notes to APro? I don't know how to do it step by step! thks in advance.
  • No problem recording fugue machine, Auria doesn't take midi sync as a slave though , but you can easily record midi data and edit ( record enable a midi track in Auria, go into setting in fugue machine to send midi to Auria and press play ! )

For sure! It took me a few mins to figure it out too.

    That's an attention-getter....

I did , partly success! going to report crash! Thank you.

    @WaveMachineLabs ,

Rim, I have few hours playing midi track today. I have many counts of crash with midi tracks. Centainly, I like the new upgrade.

At one time, I have a crash that kill many of the Fabfilters plugin without I using them on the track. After few times reopened Auria, Plugin can be restored from shop.

This time I used Fugue Machine, It got the midi notes stuck there and can not delete any midi notes to empty the recording window. It keeps crashes for 3 times till I gave it up without delete the midi notes as a whole. Even a single note I can not do the deleting.

Thank you, It's a difficult job and task to implement an universal things.

    Note:

I used Fab One synth for the sound, then change to Twin2.

Background audio was on. Air1 and Air2 iOS 9.1
    2 photos for your reference.

  • @Kaikoo, thanks.  Have you put some information in the crash reports?

No, Sir, after 3 or 4 times send a short report, I was tired! Total counts of my experience got more than 15 times after few hours playing. Normally just a reopen the app goes fine. This stucking notes crashed by selecting all notes or single note, was more serious, because I reopen many times, it still got no avail.
  • OK, you don't have to fill out a report for every subsequent crash.  As long as I have some info on the first one, that's enough.  Should make it easy to fix.

@syrupcore you mentioned programming wavs to soundfonts - in what environment, i.e. how can I translate your proposition (?)
http://www.sfzformat.com/index.php?title=Main_Page describes the format pretty well. You can also download a few free ones and then look at the source. You'll need to tell your OS to open the `whatever.sfz` file in a text editor (like notepad or textedit, not MS Word). Then just reverse engineer the one that seems closest to what you'd like to do (replace the wav file references with your own).
Or you can use this free soundfont editor: http://www.polyphone.fr

I'm so excited about EXS import.  I just got Mainstage a few months ago, and its mind boggling to think of bringing in all my stock Mainstage sample-based instruments.
I don't believe you can. All those EXS files from Mainstage/Logic contain full samples folder names i.e. '/Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples/07 Guitars/02 Acoustic Guitars'

I don't think you will be able to use them in Auria without modifying the EXS files first. And I must say I don't know how to edit them

This photo shows if you has no external keyboard, only has one iPad, here is the only app called Musix Pro which has a slide over function to allow you watching the Twin2 modulation windows and recording notes or arp at same time. Because Twin2 keyboard needs to be flipped always. Using this method not necessary get better, but it allows more choice as a recording method. You needs to turn the red button on, shown on this photo below, and setting to receive midi notes on seeting page.

  • I have it even looked at the price of Auria Pro (I promise). From this perspective I'd say it should have been priced at 79 Bucks.

Well, it is $79.99 in the australian app store :)

PS. Damn you, Apple, and your currency conversion rates
  • I also would like to see one global large keyboard ,it would be so much better

  • I've always been confused by the upgrade situation here. I bought Auria LE  and paid for the upgrade to Auria full. the app never told me I had Auria full, but when I would hit the "upgrade to Auria full" it would say "installed"

the upgrade available to me today is for Auria LE. I own Auria full. What will it get me?

It should work from all the previous chattering, but I'm guessing that Mister Rim is getting himself a well-deserved 40 winks...

Agreed, that's the only "gotcha" for me with this otherwise awesome update.  Trying to play the FF synths with those tiny little keyboards is a no go, even for my rather girlish fingers.
  • @Kaikoo concerning Fugue Maschine / Auria Pro

To get the sync running, a simpler midi setup is possible than the
one your screenshots show. (I'll do a full recap here for the other
readers, i understand that you got it running and recording already)

    In Auria Pro's midi settings:
    - Core MIDI Inputs:  Nothing selected
    - Core MIDI Outputs: Only in 'Fugue Maschine MIDI In' select 'Send Clock'

In Auria Pro's channel strip 'midi control' for the midi track:
    - Input: Fugue Maschine MIDI Out
    - Output: Off

    In Fugue Maschine:
    - MIDI to:   Fugue Maschine MIDI Out
    - MIDI From: Fugue Maschine MIDI In
    - Receive MIDI Clock: On

To receive midi on a track in Auria Pro, one needs to record-enable
the track. When pressing play in AP, the default instrument (in my
case Lyra: Stero Grand) will start playing the notes received from
    Fugue maschine.

I've sucessfully recorded some bars of midi from the preset
'011 - Alexandernaut | Hidden Melody' . After recording, one needs
to turn off record-enable, to only listen to the recorded notes.

Concerning you bug report: When entering the midi editor, i could
select single notes and delete or manipulate them. 'Sel All' and
'Multi Sel' also worked for me (Air 1, IOS 8.3, AP beta). It not a general
    problem with Auria Pro then.
  • i couldn't open fabfilter's twin2 and one after upgrading to Pro. I had to delete and reinstall auria and now everything is working fine.
What a nice app. Now it really is better than Cubasis (until they upgrade too ?). And really great to use on a Ipad Pro, especially because it's so powerful, the CPU meter remains so low with a ton of tracks and effects.
But i don't really like the piano roll. I find it better in Korg Gadget.
    Good job anyways.

Have you tried using the draw mode (pencil icon) in the piano roll?  I added this to make it easy to edit notes.

When you upgrade an app using an in-app purchase (like LE to full, or Pro), the app will still have the original LE icon, and Apple still considers you an LE customer (for example if you need to reinstall the app).  But the functionality inside the app is the full version you upgraded to.  Unfortunately, this is the way Apple does things, and there's no way around it.  An app can't change it's icon after it's been installed.

But the way I don't understand is Why you do not turn the 'receive note' on on Midi Setting page? Maybe this is the way it is.

One thing I've got to say, going from Le to version 2 Auria, it's rock solid!
  • I'm finding an occasional bug with extending or reducing audio clips using the clip handles.

I've just had it refuse to do this. It just deletes the clip entirely when you try. I had it last night too.

However, a restart of Auria cured it this morning.

    Anyone else get this?

This makes auria more amazing- you've made a world class daw that exists and can do real work in an environment that is so filled with hoops through which to jump. iOS is simple to use perhaps because of all the restrictions and musicians not only push those boundaries but obliterate them and the good devs stay on top of it all. So thanks.

If you find this is repeatable in a particular project, please send me the project.  That really helps in discovering these obscure bugs.

Often in the mornings, still half asleep, waiting for the coffee to stiffen, I find myself more philosophical (or more pretentious, depending). This notion, a digital leopard and its spots, seemed very telling for a moment there...
