Question on Auria Pro + Animoog. Does Auria Pro record poly aftertouch and poly pressure from Animoog and correctly send it back to Animoog if replayed?

    Same question here! @richardyot ?

Richard already showed this in the thread about tricks and tips I think
Auria Pro records all MIDI messages, so as long as Animoog is sending them, Auria will capture them.  You can see these other messages by using the pull-down selector in the piano roll.
  • @halftone, when did you send the reports?  Did you put anything in the report that's identifiable, like your name?  This will help me locate it.

Sent the reports about 2 hours ago - did not put my name - should I do again with name ?

I just put "welcome setup finished and then crashed" or something to that effect

  • If you can get it to happen right now, I can look for it immediately.

    Thanks,
    Rim
  • Sure. I'm gonna go thru welcome setup right now.

    Just sent a report

  • Never mind, I found it.  Looking into it now...

  • Looks like this is related to your iOS version (7.01) on your iPad 4.  Are you able to update to iOS9?  I don't have any devices that are still on iOS7, so it'll be difficult to track this down right away, but I'll try to figure out why this is happening.

I've been hesitant to update since things run smoothly for me now - heard both good and bad things about ios9 on ipad4s. I'll have to think about it

  • @WaveMachineLabs

    Hi Rim,

Could you tell me if it's possible to automate a
Program change during a Twin2 track (so you can flick between different patches with the same instance of Twin2)?

    If so, how?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Thanks @Jocphone & @richardyot. I subsequently read through that thread and only saw the general Animoog description - nothing specifically about PolyPressure or PolyAftertouch. Could have missed it though. @WaveMachineLabs Rim - so - just to clarify - I assume it will send the recorded results back to Animoog too. Sorry to ask such an obvious Q :)

Poly pressure midi recording and playing back works nicely. I'm not sure what you mean by poly aftertouch. No glide though but no app records that.
  • Thanks @firejan82 :+1:

No problem. Enabling SEND CH. PRESSURE caused some issues, I think ch.pressure is for glide(?) anyway, turning that one off solved it so I only have SEND POLY PRESSURE and SEND VELOCITY enabled.

Thanks for all the Animoog answers.  I decided to start a new thread to discuss further, since the question goes beyond just Auria Pro.

Ah yes, sorry MusicInclusive, you were talking about sending the MIDI data back to Animoog. Auria should send them out if it has recorded them and I would assume Animoog responds to those MIDI messages. Can't answer that as I'm not an Auria user.
Don't really like DAWs at the best of times so I don't really know why I'm participating in this thread.. ;)

    @WaveMachineLabs

I think I might have discovered a bug with sending midi CCs.

It's connected with sending two different midi CCs from the same midi track.

The first one that is sent works fine, and produces gradual values moving between the automation points you set.

However, setting a second cc to automate results in one of the CCs simply jumping between automation points very harshly (eg it doesn't glide between values of say 10 and 100 gradually - it will simply jump from 10, immediately to 100 even though I've set it to be a curve between the two values).

It always seems to happen as soon as you draw a second cc in and it only effects one of the CCs. The other one moves slowly.

EDIT: yep, checked in MidiFlow and that's definitely what's happening. I'll post the pics.

  • @WaveMachineLabs ;So you can see from the attached grabs that although both cc71 and cc74 should be being sent 'smoothly' according to the automation curves, in fact cc74 'jumps' straight from 122 to 0 - whereas cc71 does send values smoothly.

  • wow,2 days afk and more than 400 comments about Auria Pro...and after i worked through this thread, half of the comments about the pricing. Here, were people should have a much better feeling about how spoiled we are with app store pricing and that development cost money (especially if it's a software that's en par with desktop class DAWs).Disappointing.But i also realized that's only a minority who thinks that AP is"too expensive".I was waiting too long for Auria pro and i was in the beta as well so i might be too biased for an"objective"point of view but (i said this before) this is the first full fledged DAW for IOS.A milestone. And WML have one of the best support you can think of.There is no doubt they will try to sort out every issue you throw at them asap. The beta was intense but still too many new features to tripplecheck everything on a bunch of OS versions and half a dozen devices in just 6 weeks.Give em some time,it will grow.

Thanks, this really helps.  I think I know what's going on.  I'll add this to the next update cycle (after this coming update, since that's already in process).

  • Gotta take a moment and give this guy Rim his props. I know there are some users here on the forum who might be any developers dream (respectful, detailed and genuine in their desire to puzzle things through and help), but the level of constant response to a boatload of information and queries has been beyond impressive (and reassuring).
  • Yes, hats off to Rim @WaveMachineLabs, for this impressive upgrade and greatest responsiveness to questions. I haven't really dug deep into AP yet, but the Synths and the Lyra (with the whole Midi setup): WOW! Thank you!

Hear, hear, what Secret Agent Goodyear said! Rim @WaveMachineLabs, if you can take a day off, you have totally earned it :)
  • Rim, take a month off for spiritual and body therapy. You will accumulate mountains of statistical evidence what part is buggy and what part should be a completely rewrite. Plus you get a meaningful enjoyment of personal life.

Sorry @WaveMachineLabs - I have a question. Is it possible to bring in Twin2 presets from desktop preset banks? I've seen some paid and free ones on the web that it would be cool to bring in.

But when I look via iFunbox it looks like user presets in Auria use a different format.

    Any advice appreciated.

And thanks again for all the hard work, and the quick response above.

  • No time off for me for quite some time ;) but thanks, I really appreciate it!

Unfortunately no. They plan to charge for all presets in packs and keep it separate from the desktop version.
  • WHAT?!! Auria Pro is in store NOW?! Why didn't anyone say...

Thanks. That's a shame. I guess we can still swap Auria Twin2 presets with each other though.

Once I've made a bunch of them I'd be up for that.
