  • Steeper upgrade price than I was expecting... :neutral: Guess Rim has to eat though...

    So Auria Pro is a completely separate product? I thought there was going to be an upgrade option but I can't see an upgrade price?
    There are no IAPs listed for Auria Pro, although it says it offers IAPs. Would I need to purchase them all again or are they ALL included in Auria Pro and the IAPs it will offer are all new ones?

    I can't see any upgrade price at all, I can only buy at the full price in the UK Store. That's after being led to believe I'd get a 50% discount for the last 6 months.
  • @WaveMachineLabs Hi Rim, Just noticed in Auria 2 Pro-Q and Pro-C (first version) have gone from the store...I couldn't restore purchases for my copy of Pro-Q
  • Yes, I spotted the upgrade link in Auria Menu Store link but the price is $39.99. If US price for Auria pro is $49.99 I guess that means, since the full price in UK store is £39.99 it will cost £29.99 to upgrade? Not exactly 50% discount.

    I have upgraded from Auria LE to full but now it's gone from the store. I don't have an available update! Nothing!

  • Might cost me a lot more if they don't release an update for Auria le, as at this time I can't update to version 2, so even if I bought Pro, I can't transfer my plugins over.

    The 50% discount was widely promoted, and one of the reasons I bought Auria instead of Cubasis. If there's one thing I really hate, it's being misled on pricing. I won't buy this without the discount I was promised.

    Uau. That sounded desperate! :)

    Same here.....yep feeling a tad worried.....hopefully it's just awaiting an update in store.
  • I forfeited my beta tester coupon code because I wanted to support Rim. It's been an expensive day with the upgrade to Pro and the purchase of Pro Q2 and Pro C2. I'm happy camper though, this is a great DAW.

    I think if you're going to whine about this upgrade price, you should first whine to Apple for taking $11.99 of that $39.99, or, you know, do the sensible thing and buy a discounted iTunes card so the discount comes out of Apple's take and not the Devs.

    Rim is not a con-artist, and if $28 is what he needs to make this update available, which he has to pay Fabfilter from, and who knows who else, not to mention taxes and everything else which goes with running a business, then that is what it should cost.
  • It's OK, please let's not get personal. Monzo is entitled to make the point that a discounted upgrade was mooted at some stage.

    What AQ808 said.

    And 50% off were "widely promoted" by people NOT associated with WML. $39.99 is a pretty sweet deal for all this no matter how you slice it (which is the discounted upgrade pricing, while full pricing is $49.99). Can't get much better!

    I'm not whining, I'm pissed off at not getting the upgrade discount that was advertised. A discount that was a major factor in making my original purchase.

  • Lyra is a powerful sample playback system which supports SFZ, EXS and SF2 sample formats. Lyra is a true disk streaming sampler, so even large instruments like a 4GB piano will load with ease. Lyra supports all the SFZ opcodes, even obscure ones, and the EXS implementation is complete as well.

    I know this probably seems the least exciting of the jillion new features but holy SFZ! Hurrah

    For the fortunately less nerdy... At it's core, SFZ is a really really simple format to author: a zip of one or more audio files and plain text file that tells an SFZ player what to do with them. SF2, in contrast, is a mother. Getting an SF2 *authoring* app on iOS continues to elude us. Getting an SFZ authoring app would be much easier. Not many apps support the format though. Until now! Thanks, Rim!

    SFZs can also just be written by hand in a text editor. Can be as simple as:

        <group>
        lovel=0
        hivel=127
        sample=my-sample.wav

    for a single sound spread across the keyboard. Save it as `whatever.sfz` in a folder with our sample and you're done.

    Or for multisampling:

        <group>
        lovel=0
        hivel=127
        trigger=attack
        loop_mode=one_shot
        <region>
            lokey=28 hikey=28 sample=Double Bass Pizz-028-e0.wav
       <region>
            lokey=29 hikey=29 sample=Double Bass Pizz-029-f0.wav
        ......

    You can have many groups. Those groups could have different 'opcodes' like `lovel=0; hivel=30` for your soft samples, `lovel=31; hivel=60` for your medium samples...

    I'm excited to see SFZ support land in the year's biggest iOS music release because it puts the format on the main stage (or our little sideshow's main stage anyway). And precisely because the format is so easy to author, I'm hopeful that we'll see apps wanting to feed into the Auria ecosystem by offering SFZ export (and then Open In->Auria->Woot!->Profit). Ultimately, I'd love to see more and more apps just use the format natively so we can all live out our dreams of a glorious future buttered by interoperability that the man promised us. I know of many apps that use a very similar text-file-plus-waves-in-a-folder format (Nanostudio's TRG, Beatmaker kits, Thumbjam instruments, Drum Perfect...) but they're not quite SFZ.

    Massive nerdy high five @rim.

  • I've upgraded Auria (full version and not to Pro yet). Upgrade price is showing $39.99 to Pro version in the menu. Sadly all my fabfilter plugins I purchased have dissapeared! WTF?

    Do you have a link to this "advertised promise"?
  • @syrupcore Hey that's useful to know, thanks!
  • We've never advertised or mentioned a 50% off upgrade price.  Not sure where you're getting that.  Auria was on sale for 50% off for quite a while.  Was this what you were thinking of?

    Just do a "restore purchases" and everything will be there.

    Except Pro-Q and Pro-C are gone from Auria 2
    Edit...they are now called "legacy" but restore purchases didn't work for me on Pro-Q, I don't own Pro-C

    Edit....Ok working now :)

    "Restore Purchases" in Auria's App Store.

  • @PsYAuM, If you upgraded from Auria to Auria Pro, you just need to do a Restore Purchases from the Auria store, and all your previous purchases will be restored.  There was a minor issue this morning with the two updated FabFilter plugins, but that's fixed now, so if you tried to restore previously, just try it again.

  • @WaveMachineLabs ;

    Auria le upgraded to Auria user. Is there going to be a way I can update to version 2?

    if not, how can I transfer my plugins across?
  • I upgraded my AuriaLE to full a couple of months ago and invested quite a lot into fab filters and other plugins. Now there doesn't seem to be any upgrade offer at all from what I can see. All I see is Auria Pro for twice the price that was expected. And no idea if my plugins will be available in AP if I bought it. I'm in no hurry to buy it now.
  • $28 is £18.70 .. Currently...  A price I would be happy to pay for the upgrade .. £29.99 is a good 40% above that.. Mongo is right.. And we ALL contributed to this program by paying the full price and quite a lot of plug in iap revenue too .. This is not baby whining.. Something is definitely not right...  I'm sure rim had his mind on the more important aspects of stability and functionality.. But now that's done he might want to turn his attention to levelling the pricing playing field if he can??  This might be crucial in these next few days otherwise a lot of heads will be turning away..  No offence meant here at all, I'm fully amazed at what you can get on ipad for the money.. But if I am feeling this way about it then it might be others will be even more 'tut tut' shakey head about it.. Feedback is an important part of the process..
  • Auria LE is no longer for sale, but this won't impact any current Auria LE users.  You'll be able to update to 2.0, and upgrade to Pro if you wish.  All your previous plugin purchases will be valid forever.  We're just waiting for the LE update to hit the store.  it's running a little later than the rest.

    Rim
  • When you upgrade Auria 2 to Auria Pro, then a year later need to download it again on a new device, do you download the old Auria 2 and restore purchases, or do you download Auria Pro?
  • @Monzo is right to say the half price discount. When I bought the older version at full price, I knew it will be discounted for 50%. He is brave to say so!

    If Rim has the difficulty, He should say so before the version 2 debut. So where is the promise? I don't mind the paying, I care the business conducting manner!
  • There might be a little confusion here between the update and the upgrade.  We released both at the same time.

    Auria 2.0 is a free update.  Lots of bug fixes and performance enhancements for the existing user base.

    Auria Pro is an upgrade.  Three years worth of development went into it, and it offers tons of brand new features.  That's why we're charging for the upgrade.  But the update to Auria 2.0 is free (as it should be).

    Thanks for the confirmation. Good luck with Auria Pro :)
