I am interested in the kits, I really do not like many of the kits from patterning especially the lack of quality acoustic kits, hoping this one got a much better selection.

Import own samples - select studio view and click to change sample name you will see pop up menu with lots of import options.

    Great! I missed that!

  • nlogmusic: @alexbuga Import samples from audio pasteboards (AudioCopy & Classic), iTunes music Library, Share folder and of course record your own.

so yeah, you can do ALL OF THAT

  • So I got pretty excited about this but now I can't see any mention of MIDI in from controllers other than the spark LE, which is €200. Is it true that other controllers aren't supported?

Ok,not too bad.I already have a lot of iOS drummer but one developed/ported by TR is definitely tempting. An AU version would make the decision VERY easy though ;)

I am with your do I need another or not feeling but it just looks so useable.

Have you tried the Acoustic kit from FingerBeat or Drums XD?

I'll get this and delete some of the other beatboxes, bye bye to DM1, Diode-108 for now... Maybe some others too.

Noticed it says 'Offerss In-App Purchases' more sounds or even 'functions'?

  • does it have side chain and tempo automation?

I added another one, Drums XD.

Nope if you are using Patterning, maybe you could use it as a midi controller for Drums XD?

There are 4 instrument packs to buy currently other than the ones included.

yep,who am i kidding. It's ten bucks.I'll buy it nonetheless,if only to support Rolf and encourage Arturia to let him port more of their stuff. And not"this"other company ;)

One last thing though:anynody already tried how reliable (or not)it syncs as IAA in Auria? But i guess it's not THAT important anymore since it supports ableton link (anyone tried this?) and Auria will get Link sooner or later anyway...

If you do use the kits in Drums XD triggered from Patterning, the keys needed are one octave lower. If patterning kick is on D1, you will need to set the midi receive for the Drums XD kick to D0.

  • Please tell me it's compatible with BSP?...Anyone? :#

  • All I know is I had tons of fun with the desktop version of Spark and nearly bought the hardware so I guess this is a no-brainer for me. There was something very fluid about it and the results I was getting were very pleasing.

Well it does do synth drums ;)

  • Looks very fluid which -if so- makes it worth the entry. Also worth it as the price is reasonable enough to invest to support the dev etc

So, what is it that sets this apart from our other wide choices in drum apps?

It's $10 and called iSpark? I bet instead of four on the floor though this does four on the ceiling and walls at the same time with even more bleeps and bloops! ;-)

I kid, I kid. It's clearly not aimed at me, but it sounds like it hits the spot for some. I've been firmly planted in the day job world for the past few months and have been pretty out of touch with any iOS goings on. This seems to be an active week!

  • Sampling seems to be possible Sample Chooser > Recordings > New

Hopefully a future update will add input monitoring to the record dialogue.

Also 'recorded time' should be shown, only indication if recording is on is the 'stop' button.

Renaming of the recorded file would be handy otherwise we'll end up with loads of recording_xx.wav

Trimming(with option to pinch-zoom the wave for precise editing), Normalising and Fade In/Out would be really handy.

Thankfully it's possible to delete the recorded samples :)

And well import/export files using the iOS-Filepicker to/from recordings folder would be awesome too.

The 'Export' seems to save a project-file to the iTunes Shared folder?!

The 'Manual' is not yet on the Arturia Web...

  • Just this morning I spent most of my itunes voucher I got for my birthday on DrumPerfect Pro, then this gets released.
After watching the tutorials I have

    • requested a refund for DPP
    • deleted Attack
    • deleted iElectribe

Just waiting for my credit to go back on then I'm buying.

In just one week everything has changed for me on iOS, MIDI Sync from Launchpad (plus me getting launchpad controller for my birthday), Gadget 2 upgrade with the EQ and Compression per track and then this.

I may well be deleting other apps soon ;)
Just when i thought I had settled on a setup :D

It can send samples and kits to other apps as well I was just informed.

  • The App Store inside desktop iTunes says size = 265 Mb, while the mobile app store shows its size as 400 Mb

    Strange...

  • Half a gig , I had better go see what I can delete just in case I am tempted further.

  • I can't see anywhere (in the descriptions and screen grabs) that it really creates synth drum sounds (like Elastic Drums, iElectribe, SeekBeats). Seems more like a drum sample player.

    Or am I wrong?

Curious why you'd be deleting Attack? I could be deciding between iSpark and Attack purchase and was leaning toward Attack, (I already have iElectribe and like it although it's limited)

  • Here are seven nice video tutorials that were released at launch! This lone will more than likely persuade me to purchase. Going to go watch a couple more now. All developers should do something similar to this!

  • I've got very mixed feelings about iSpark especially knowing the the Synth-Engine is very capable but the editing options iSpark are really too limited. It's almost as bad as if not worse than 'Synth Master Player' for tweaking and sound-creation.

Gut feeling says that the editing capabilities of iSpark will not improve over time. All emphasis will be put on pushing more kits thru the content-store :(
