Just been looking at the manual, and that has background audio option described, so I guess yes is the answer
I just found the manual thanks.
I don't think this is necessarily what Rolf thinks a drum machine should be. He didn't create Spark but just ported it pretty much 1 to 1 from desktop to iOS. Probably with the very solid quality programming he is known for. But there wasn't any opportunity for creating anything new that wasn't already there in Spark desktop.
easy peasy.
I'm not saying it was easy, just saying he couldn't put any new ideas into it. Because that was not what he was asked to do.
What really pissed me off with iSpark is that it does not respond to Arturia's own BeatStep pro. Lol...Why would they do such thing?
I bought their 250€ sequencer and it doesn't work with THEIR OWN product? WTF?...Is that normal?1.
DrumPerfect Pro does and so do other drum machines...
Manual is now online from app or here:
http://www.arturia.com/products/ispark/resources#manuals
@soundklinik Will check that out. Shouldn't be too complicated.
Can I ask you...who are you? Are you responsible for iSpark?
Thank you
There is nothing complicated, seems that notes are filtered out...They even show up in the midi activity window
@Munibeast Right, it isn't called iRolf, it's called iSpark :-) And it does bring the full Spark engine to iOS. For < 10 Bucks. Isn't that amazing? But right, it doesn't bake burgers :-)
After hearing how difficult these iOS ports have been, I'm even more impressed. The work required to port an app to iOS just strengethens my position.
e.g. Arturia synth ports have been notoriously buggy. this has often been due to errors in the original code. Even though these ports have been buggy, I've wanted to see how they work out on iOS, and support the developer efforts.
In some ways, it's a port is heroic that a creative effort (like patterning for example), though granted, usually less novel, as ports are always less novel. But it's pretty exciting to have a Mini or Prophet VS, or Attack, or Cyclop, or a myriad of other ports on my iPad, and ports help validate iOS as a music making environment.
That's good to hear!
I've enjoyed iSpark so far apart from a few minor issues regarding sampling like lack of Input-Monitoring and sample-time indication, sample-editing (Trim, Normalise, Rename) and the 'Export' in the sequencer that is a little 'Trigger Happy' and creates the file before I decide if I wan't to export and what to do with it.
I hope these issues will be corrected over time.
As for the 'Modular Synthesis UI' I'd gladly buy that as an IAP!
Time to read the Manual, it seems to be online now
But, but , well, but, well does it make French fries. Burger fries and drink for ten bucks at some joints at least. All apps should come with everything on release and fries burger and drink should definitely be included for all that money no?
There are no discounts on iTunes cards in Sweden. Ever. #ImJustALittleBitter
But you have Zlatan. Price of doing business etc
Guys, I'm not complaining (except that MIDI in seems to be mainly meant for SparkLE which is most probably not Rolf's fault)! I'm not saying it's expensive. And I'm not belittling Rolf's efforts. It's just that if for some reason other than pricing Spark (desktop) doesn't appeal to someone because it doesn't bring anything new to the table, then most probably iSpark won't either because it's the same thing minus the modular synth. Even though Rolf spent 2 years porting it with great skill the app is what Arturia designed it to be, not what Rolf wanted to invent. As far as I have seen it looks beautiful and intuitive. I just didn't perceive any particular sound or other feature that made me want to buy it immediately. Which is probably a good thing. There's a good chance I'll get it in the future after hearing some better examples of the sounds it makes. I'm just not in hurry now, even though the pressure has been put on with "intro pricing". And by the way, I love iSEM and Nave!
Paris ain't in Sweden
Zlatan's heart is always in Sweden. Surely.
Me too!
Looks great, sounds great and looks very intuitive. The automation, effects and simple interface. So concice, a real achivement in design and of course a great port.
However I need midi cc learn, for the buttons, for it to fit in with my workflow. Im still addicted to sweet apps but Im starting to expect all my favorite candy in my 10 dollar pick-n-mix bag
@studs1966 nice find on the video, it covers some features not shown in Rolf's videos.
Your welcome
That sucks. I am so sorry to hear that, because I typically think of Swedes as better than me.
Just another example of a big, fat, ugly American. But I am still fun to hang out with.
in addition the trimming is in need of zoom and the option for destructive truncation to save storage resources.
I would buy that modular iap too!!!! hope it's on the way.
_Let's try to remember that everyone is right and lets try to keep the proof that we are all individually right within our own relevancy to ourselves more often, in other words judge apps not people, and not judge people for judging apps as if they're judging people.

BeatStep Pro MIDI Control Center go to Drum Mapping and change to Spark and please please stop complaining before you just....TRY.... haha.
+1
Big bummer. Looks good enough to dedicate a single older iPad too but not an Air+!
