Because you want to run multiple copies of it?
Think all of these will be available soon enough: https://www.arturia.com/products/drums/drums-expansion-packs/overview
Where is intro pricing mentioned? I can't see?
According to them, iSpark "offers three different drum engines: analog synthesis, sampling and physical modeling"
I haven't downloaded it yet so please don't quote my quoting.
They also have a couple of their own tutorial videos up here: https://www.arturia.com/products/ipad-synths/ispark/media
The demo vid from pantsofdeath on YouTube shows some editing of generated sounds. It looked a bit lightweight in comparison to elastic, attack, ielectribe to me... But I haven't been hands on...
If you look online at the desktop version, basically the whole synth engine is in the iPad version it's just that we've only got the tip of the iceberg so to speak, only a few synth kits to tweak included and no access to modules yet. Fingers crossed that's not too far in the future.
That song mode is really really clever. First, high five for even having a song mode. Especially one with so many steps (that doesn't work like DM1). At first I didn't get the whole columns idea but thinking about it, it's brilliant. First, when you combine it with the "perform mode", you can basically call up sections of a song to mess with. Second, it means that you can loop sections of your song while working on it (like you can in most DAWs) which is a smashingly rare feature among drum machine song modes.
Congrats on the release @nlog. That is just a stupid amount of software (and soundware) for 10 bucks. Downloading now.
Are you able to publicly share if MIDI control of parameters (via things other than the Spark controller) is in the cards?
Are you sure your BSP is sending out the right notes? If there's anything to complain about here's it's that you can't change the drum sequencer's notes on the BSP without loading their MIDI Command Center app (if only they'd hire Rolf to iOSify that!).
Edit, er @KDub already said the same. Sorry, taking me a while to get through this thread!
No,but i would love to have total recall (within ONE app,not AB state saving...).But i'll buy it anyway, who cares
if/when the built in synth goes modular it would be great to have that part available as AU plugin
Anyone have any luck with Export from the Sequence menu? It's not showing the Audio Export menu although the loop does end up in the iTunes share folder. It just scans continuously and pretty much shuts things down so I have to re-Spark.
You own BSP too @syrupcore , the drum sequencer has notes hard wired. I don't think that I am "complaining" as you put it, when I expect that hardware made by same company is not compatible with their software without having to use PC to load templates...
The problem is that I don't have a PC at the moment. If it does work that way, does it mean I have to switch Spark template and default BSP template via PC every time?
I would be very surprised if nobody @ Arturia raised the question about compatibility with their own products...
yes
Your problem is that you don't have a PC to change it. I've always thought they should make iOS companion apps for their controllers.
This is what I am wondering. I have the desktop version. It's cool. But Arturia have a few other Spark branded products. Will they release them as well as expansions?
Hi there,
believe it or not, the request for external MIDI controller support is a bit unforeseen. I spoke today with the Arturia guys and of course we work on something to support better BeatStep Pro and other MIDI controller. We just did the app, thought SparkLE would be a cool thing to support, then added the Link stuff etc. So other controller incl. BSP got a bit out of focus. But doing that isnt magic. So, we work on a good and easy concept to support that in an update. If you like to join as a beta for this, just email info at temporubato dot com
Happy Beatmaking!
Best
Rolf
PS: We've already an update submitted for fixing some glitch with Link. See, we dont keep lazy, but I need spme rest at the weekend :-)
ahhhhh
"Take advantage of our exceptional introductory price. During three weeks iSpark is at 9.99 €/USD instead
Thanks you just made my day
Good to hear. Rest up, it's going to be a busy week
@nlog, thanks for iSpark!
I have one request....can you have an option that allows the samples to play in their entirety when you have multiple samples defined on a pad in Velocity mode?
For example, I setup a snare with with several velocity layers, but when each sample is triggered, it cuts off the previous sample....for longer acoustic drum samples, this is very noticeable. Thanks!
Dexter
My only thing with iSpark is, if you already have iMachine, do you really need iSpark?
Joining in on the shenanigans here...
Can this app work standalone or does it need the desktop version? Cani create all inside this app without having to go to some controller or computer?
I DO have BSP but I use that to sequence my samples on the Akai s950 and I don't want to hook up the tablet to the controller if I don't have to....
Yes it's standalone, and you can create entirely within app without computer or controller.
Thanks brotha. I'm old school and use all hardware but I like to play with these apps when I'm at th office or traveling , and I'd like to just keep things inside these apps without having to connect some other piece to it.
Sounds like a cool app and its at an "impulse buy" price so why not...
