  • Did you do the design yourself?
Honestly I'm not a fan of minimal interfaces, but I'll give you that... this one looks freaking awesome!

Thanks! Yes, I'm a one man band.

Wow. Cool workflow. So I can record a performance on a node as a loop and then load it as a File Player node.

That's right. But in the first version, it will stop recording immediately when you tap the REC button, so the loop will not be perfectly trimmed unless you have very good timing :) I'll add quantized REC-stop in a future update, so that you can sample beat perfect loops on the fly (as in SECTOR) without having to trim them in AudioShare first.

    Bless you, J Lilla.

Speaking of, think we need a Dilla beat to ride the time with. This one could have easily been done in AUM. Two channels of the piano loop with a LPF and aufx:space, two drum machine channels with a LPF and aufx:push (snare channel), aufx:push + aum limiter on the master and musical use of channel mutes. As deliciously minimal as Kymatica design.

Nice! You should replicate it in AUM :)

Well, since it records in AudioShare's shared container I can trim it there and make a perfect loop ;)

  • PS: Here's a nice idea. If an audio file is loaded from AudioShare, place a "Edit in AudioShare button". Go there, "do the dew" and Save & come back ;)

In the FilePlayer file picker UI, you can tap the preview button and then the "share/action" symbol, and choose "Show in AudioShare" and AudioShare will open with the file loaded :)

@j_liljedahl holy shit. Thank you and so many congratulations.

When selecting an IAA app, what's the difference between an app and app (MIDI)?

    Thanks, everyone! :)

When selecting an IAA app, what's the difference between an app and app (MIDI)?

The "MIDI" part is in the IAA title itself, so it's added by the developer of the IAA node app.
It means the app can take IAA MIDI input, also shown as "MUSIC EFFECT" instead of "EFFECT" as the detail text below the title in AUM.

  • I already gave Kymatica all my 100% fanboy love when he made his AUFX apps, I'm not sure where I can go from here but to say wow, thanks. This meets the hype and exceeds.

As a live looping tinkerer, this fills so many missing workflow tasks for me, and then does a lot more.

  • @j_liljedahl you absurd fucking genius. Are you kidding me?

@everyone load your favorite AUFX app in AUM. Switch to it. Once there, tap the AUM IAA icon. Rejoice and wonder how we got so lucky to have yet another absurd fucking genius selling us music apps for 10 stupid dollars.

How is that even a thing? I almost hate to ask on the forum run by two other AFG's gifting us inexpensive music creation bounty but is that something that other non-kymatica apps could implement? Maybe via something like an AUM SDK ala Audioshare SDK?

It almost removes the work part.

Thanks. Not very versed in IAA. Can you tell us (ok, me) if there's a difference, resource wise? I take this to mean if we aim to use MIDI to control it, pick that one but if we're not sure at the beginning is there a resource usage difference between the two that you've noticed during testing (generally)?

  • App looks really great but I'm confused about the destinations and why the various IAA audio apps don't appear there? So for example, you can't mix a bunch of VIs and send them to Loopy without getting AB involved?

  • Is there a way to move inserts between channels? Twice now in my messing around I've wanted to move inserts to a new fx bus. If not, I'll go ahead and be the jerk that makes feature requests on launch day.
