once we get the seamless loop export, it's gonna be a wrap!

There's no descent sampler using Link, for long samples I mean, Gadget is very limited so I can't use it (even if Gadget is really great for other stuffs and short samples) so if I could generate loops very fast to export into Cubasis (no Link argh...) then I should not be loosing the workflow for my tracks...
And most of apps using Link does not provide a clean export as wav neither...
This IOS thing really needs good apps as AUM...
Agree.
I can't get @ikmultimedia VocaLive to load into an effects slot in AUM. It keeps saying "VocaLive for iPad got disconnected. Maybe you terminated it, or it crashed. Reload?"
iPad Pro. iOS 9.2.1. Is this an AUM issue or a VocaLive IAA issue?
Loopersonic is getting Link which will be awesome.

I checked Loopersonic, but I'm already using Loopy, and that's not what I'm looking for...Or you need to have very neat loops to get it in sync with Link and other apps...
Maybe Loopy Masterpiece...Can't wait for it...
It's a VocaLive issue. AUM just hosts the IAA apps, there's really only one way to do that.
A common bug in IAA apps is that they start their audio engine only when the app comes to foreground, not when launched by IAA host in the background. The reason they never discovered this is because they never tested it in a host that does not switch to the app when loading it. Maybe they tested it only with Audiobus.
The workaround is to launch the app manually first, and then connect it in AUM. Sometimes you also have to enable background audio in the app.
I'm thinking this might be the reason what causes the newly released DRC (@sinosoidal) sometimes fail to load.
Works most of the time. I'm still puzzled why after all this time and all the tips it's still plaguing some apps when the obvious workaround seems to be to start the audio-engine before the launching the UI?!
@ikmultimedia anything you guys can do to fix this bug to make your app work as IAA? Same issue trying to run it as IAA in AUM, Cubasis, and Auria Pro.
I am not aware of this and haven't seen reports of it until I received notification of this message. This needs to be reported to IK Support at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/ios-apps/ and they will verify and troubleshoot.
tried Modstep?
Umm, can't you report this to IK Support? Isn't that why you're here?
No, you found the defect, therefore it is you that must be punished.
LOL!!
Yes, I could report a problem I'm not having and without full details, just a link to this portion of a discussion on a forum. Or the people having a technical issue could report it and full system and issue details while troubleshooting directly with the support team. I'd think* the latter is more effective for getting your problem resolved. If it is a global issue, they will verify and if not they will assist you with your issue directly and get you up and running. Does that work for you?
*Actually this is cheeky as I know it would be more effective as it has been an effective system for support teams, including IK's, for a very very long time. I appreciate your efforts in reporting your issue to the appropriate team and did not think I was asking for something that was out of bound or abnormal in the least.
I know, what punishment it is that someone is referred to the correct team to troubleshoot and resolve their issue! I swear we could cure cancer and people who weren't even affected by an issue would still take dumps on IK... So be it, I've referred someone having an issue to the absolute best way to obtain a resolution. You guys can take it from here.
I suspect, unless you own the company, this response would not be the one you would have suggested when set the original post as, say, an interview question for your current position, but then perhaps your current position isn't the original one you interviewed for...
I’ll give IK this much, they are boldly throwing caution to the wind when it comes to the whole customer relations aspect of professional cooperate image. I ate in a diner like that one time. The waitress insulted the customer, order would be wrong, etc. That was their schtick. It was fun and we thoroughly enjoyed the one trip. We’d go again, but they’re out of business now.
It really isn't the best representation for a company that actually makes some pretty cool products. But this kind of behaviour is really making me look for alternatives whenever possible. Nobody's perfect, of course, but there's really a weird sentiment here that doesn't encourage trust or loyalty in any way. IK should do better than this.
Now let's get this back on track: AUM!!!
Looking forward to what you cook up here as these all sound good but I'd like to add an emphatic +1 to "Automatic creation of bus..." if it doesn't already exist.
Another related shortcut would having the ability to add sends directly to an app. Where the right side of the add send->bus list becomes an arrow that opens up the IAA effects list. Tapping an effect creates the send, the bus channel, and inserts the IAA effect on that bus.
Similarly, I like to see channel presets. I like to use aufx:dub on a send with a HPF setup directly within AUM for easier access. In addition to full mixer presets, channel presets would speed things up. Those presets could also be targets for the bus arrow idea above.
Those channel presets could eventually become channel templates too where when they're loaded AUM specific things are loaded with it (sends, destination, built in effects) but hosted apps are left blank.
/thinking out loud
Nailed it.
IK, no doubt people on the Internet can be total weenies and excessive IK bashing seems to have become a thing. I'm sure it's not fun to read but all of your replies in this thread, the tone of which is fairly common from IK reps, are only feeding the fire. Honestly, and I don't mean this as a personal attack as much as a professional critique: it reads like a 16 year old. You could have made your (entirely reasonable) point in any number of less antagonizing ways. Instead, you look unprofessional to me and so does, by proxy, IK.
Since you're not technical support, can I ask what it is that you're tasked with doing exactly? Community Relations? Sales? Digital Marketing? Brand Rep?
Actually, a lot of us have been affected by your issues, and a lot of us have encountered this same response.
I have to side with IK on this. If you're having a problem and you're referred to the proper channel to get it resolved what is wrong with that? Why put a third party in the middle? Troubleshooting via "telephone" never goes well.
Let him with no sin or fault throw the first stone.....
Let's all get along now and get back to topic.....please?
Agreed, so back on topic now. I find the Audio Units version of VoiceRackFX to be my favorite pitch assist app now. The integration right into the AUM ui makes it much more fluid than jumping out to another app and back.
Seem to have problems getting egoist to work> @anickt said:
For sure but did they have to be so sarky , and drop cancer into their reply ?
^ so so true. It takes a relatively large amount of CPU (about 20% on iPhone 6s), but VoiceRackFX is a great pitch assist and works very well as AU inside of AUM.
I agree with you there but I understand the frustration of giving someone a viable answer to their question and having them say (more or less) "I can't be bothered, do it for me".
