ok, thank you. I would like to use this to get loops out of my music collection.
currently is the audio export -master only, or can you export 8 stems at once?

Y'all want a lot for $5.00!
I would actually rather deeper integration with audioshare as opposed to making duplicates of samples in a blocs folder. The only problem being that audio stops during audioshare import. Would really improve workflow if this could be fixed somehow. Also, thanks for adding user samples to your whiteboard
You can export a WAV or AAC file of each stem in the edit section (export to audio copy, audioshare or mail). Stems are exported individually rather than all at once. Strangely I cant seem to find the master export.
I noticed this too! We can always record the entire scene into another app via audiobus, but of course that's a sync-less task at present.
Just tried it out on my iphone5. Very cool app, and instantly you can get something going. You can even resample a groove into another slot. Just turn your volume of your iPhone about to bars up and record with the internal microphone, you can bus resample this way and it sounds quite clean he he clever app.
Come to the curry house, expect to find heat.
so are there two different apps or is it universal?
@Launchpadforios Really good to have you here. +10 for thick skin. +5 more for "by the way... this is us, and my name is matt."
I'm going to assume with all of your hint "...large waveform..." and hint "...touching waves..." talk, you're explicitly not saying "Well, if the Samplr dev isn't going to keep going, we'll do it". Amirite?
is there a way to copy from one slot to another?
Someone mentioned a way to bounce to a new slot so I'm guessing so. And yes, it's universal. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/blocs-wave-make-record-music/id1085697317?mt=8
I believe they were talking about resampling the open output via the iPad mic if I'm not mistaken.
once the app gets the slicing update I hope the bpm will be updated to be able to go lower than 60bpm. hopefully 10-25bpm.
I was guessing this too. If they really build out the wave touching part of this app I can easily see it outpacing samplr in many ways. Hate to say it since samplr's a classic.
Took the plunge. This has a lot of potential, but is at a major crossroads at this early stage. This app is always probably going to be built around an engine for the dev to sell loops. I can't begrudge them wanting them to make money off the app. My preference would be to delete all provided content and load all my own. If the browser remains limited to factory bought content and unavailable to user loops, then I'll be deleting this app ASAP. IMO if the devs open things up so that user content is accessible in the browser, this could be a cool little app. Imported user loops can be transposed and tempo changed just like factory content which is great.
Features that would make this a killer app IMO...
*Slots for user "packs" in the "packs" view to store and retrieve user content
*IMO the "discover" view would be much more musically useful if the loops that were cycled through were limited to loops within a "pack". That way the user would have some control over which loops were cycled through.
*IAA audio in and out so that it can be used in AUM (w/out having to go through AB)
*Separate audio outs per channel
*Ableton link
So much potential here...
Keep up the great work Novation peeps and thanks for your presence on this board.
Nicely done.
My impression on the app:
1- Disappointed about "solid audiobus support"'. I bought because I assumed (my mistake) it meant being able to use blocs wave as a audiobus output and record incoming audio from other apps. Audiobus remote would be in that case a must to start recording and choose loop length.
2- tempo adjustment on the main screen is a bit a pain, no way to scroll. It is even worse in the "attribute" box; having to type a bpm with a keyboard is somekind of a joke. (sorry but that's the way it feels with "todays touchscreen standards").
Besides that I see a lot of potential. Potentially the next Samplr? I doubt about that personally since a looooot is missing so far. Novation IAP philosophy would make us pay hundreds of dollars to reach the Samplr degree of refinement. Such a shame that samplr development ended (Can we still dream?), I'd have a long wishlist .
My thoughts exactly, so much potential here.
Have been playing with it quite a bit today, love time stretch but keep wishing for a way to transpose each pad independently. Also really like the discover browser, a randomise all button would be a nice addition
I find myself having to consciously pull myself out of feeling / acting a little indignant about a $5 purchase that perhaps didn't suit my needs. So much time and effort clearly goes into these creations. Huge value. Thank you for your work and future developments @Launchpadforios.
Actually I believe we've added 1-999bpm (as this is required for link support). So yes. We've already implemented that.
Hey Phillipe, this is my fault for not being clear. As far as I am aware, core audiobus recording in and out works just fine, and there is a record option in audiobus remote, however you're correct in that you can not set recording length of a loop in audiobus remote. There is definitely more we could add in the way of audiobus 'remote' support.
Good point. Messages received and noted.
As mentioned in a previous post, Blocs Wave is now a paid for app, £3.99,$4.99. This is an introductory price as we 'do' expect other features to come along soon. Blocs has no paid for features as such ( apart from soundpacks, but that because we work with content providers, who are awesome, and THEY deserve money for their music too so we split it with them at a super far rate). So you'll also be backing individual intent providers swell as lovely chaps at loopmasters. However, not all the packs are from looopmasters anymore. We're working with small sample makers now in order to try and get a real breath of music in the sounds.
Launchpad for IOS does have IAP features. It's a free app, and it's no surprise that free apps really do need a different model. Of course, we give apple a love sum also.
So, to answer your question. I really don't think the basic Blocs Wave app will cost hundreds of dollars, more like .. $4.99 right now.
Well I like the option of being able to type in tempo.
I have tons of crackles and distorted noises even playing 4 short Samples same time on IPAD Air with non other APPs loaded.
I just checked with one of our dev, and they have been using the iPad Air to develop the app with. So I don't think it's the iPad Air. I would put this down to three things. 1) is the iPad running on less than 10% battery? 2) Some other thing, so try turn it on and off again 3) are you using an Audio interface or audiobus? If it persists, please contact us on [email protected]. We can give you closer support then // M
I must admit, I was sceptical when I first saw this but have bought now and can see it has great potential as a starting point. I am surprised that Link wasn't implemented on release though. That should have been up in in big blue ink on the whiteboard
I reiterate the same hopes for this app that it goes pro and grows into an advanced Samplr style app and not a sample pack buying portal. Please allow user sample management in the browser.
Fingers crossed for automation, midi learn with midi program change, multiple outs, panning etc and a road map of performance based sample instruments!
Select the pad you want to copy, press and hold for menu to pop up with copy/paste options, select copy, thenm select the pad you want to copy to and do the same (selecting paste instead of copy of course )
Thx for your quick reply and Info it was developed on an Air and should work good then. I just used some Koss Headphones plugged in. My Air was at 20 % Battery. I now fully charged it and Reinstalled the App / Shutdown the IPAD once which helped actally. Now i can loadup all sample Slots without any skips / distortions. If i experiance anything else during the day ill contact your support.
Each pack looks to be at a BPM suitable for the genre, don't forget these will timestretch to whatever tempo and transpose to whatever key you are using for your project, even when you are previewing the packs on the store
Anyone remember the browser in Sony ACID
Yeah, this is the way it goes, right?
Anyway, I will jump in feet first with what novation has cooking here (and launchpad) when they support Link. Everything I see looks useful, especially the filtering by key and tempo, but it needs to work with my other stuff or it's a no go.
So, there, give me Link and I'll give five dollars and probably a whole lot more.
It is not filtering, it is real-time time-stretching to match tempo, and real-time transposing to match key.
The missing real-time time-stretch is what was making it impossible to add link and Midi Slave to Launchpad, now they have an engine that supports both that and real-time transposition. If that gets incorporated into Launchpad, WOW WOW WOW WOW.
My advice would be to buy it now for £4 before the price goes up, get Launchpad for free and buy the Audio Import IAP for £5 and the MIDI Clock IAP (up to £5 can't remember the actual price) and download MIDI Link Sync and your good to go using Launchpad as clock master to Midi Link Sync and then use Link for your other apps to Midi Link Sync
You can then sit there all smug each time an update arrives and more amazing features get added to both.
