Or the old saying....I'm just popping out to have a suck on a fag....good job I gave up smoking when my American friends were over
Now that the initial rush has calmed down, what would we like to see included in Wave.
For me the number 1 time saver would be
I'd buy that for a dollar....
+100000000
So I make that $1 for JG and $100,000,001 for G606.
Oh, and $2 for Nathan.
I have my thoughts on Blocs Wave up on Audio News Room
What he said
http://audionewsroom.net/2016/03/blocs-wave-review-novations-new-play-on-loops-for-ios.html
Thanks for the review. Very nicely written. Two potential things that might be of interest:
1) We got Link working today. We're hoping to show an early demo as soon as we can.
2) You can enable background audio from the settings menu. Maybe we should set this to on by default?
Thanks for the heads up. I will admit I try to review pretty much how I expect many will use devices, I.e. No reading up and dive straight in search of fun. Blocs Wave pretty much gets an A+ for ease of use. I've generated more musical ideas in minutes with this app than most apps deliver in a day.
Look forward to Blocs getting Link
@Launchpadforios Is there a way to remove an installed pack from Wave (not the included ones but additional ones) ?
I was trying to clear space on mt iPad for the 9.3 update last night and was going to temporarily remove the chiptune pack while installing, but could not find a way to remove it.
This is going to sound really dumb, but where is the Settings menu? I see the settings under the "Record" tab but no global settings...
Can't wait for Link. Thx!
Or IAA host sync, then you could have it follow the transport controls. Or make the recorder start recording on bar boundaries (like in AUM), then you could sync via Link, start playing first, then enable record and it would start recording exactly on the right beat.
Yep I put that as a missed opportunity in my review
Yep same here, I've looked and looked, but I'll be dammed if I can find it
My fault. This is located in the System settings app > blocs wave. As there is no settings menu inside of blocs wave. Sorry. My bad.
Mystery solved
Can you also tell us if the loop packs will remain when new ones arrive, or will they be replaced?
The usual thing to do is to keep playing in background if the apps transport is playing (for apps that have a play/stop state, like this does).
So, when the app goes to background it would stop the audio engine unless: app is playing OR connected to inter-app audio OR memberOfActiveAudiobusSession.
Anyone tried the vocal sound 'breath short' from the supplied Future House sound pack?
Sounds like it's saying 'Asshole'
I don't know how it could be anything but "asshole".
I'm probably being dumb, but how does that help? If I have a loop more than one bar long and follow that procedure wouldn't recording start from the start of bar 2?
Did someone mention previously in this thread that it would be nice if when you move the clip to the left using "slipping" that you had the option for the stuff that is getting cut off at the beginning get added to the tail?
Yeah. Was finding myself copying clips, taking them out to TW, overwriting parts with silence and bring them back in again to keep the loop length....not a long term/sustainable proposition (for me).
OK, good. The @Launchpadforios folks seem good about collecting feedback for their roadmap so I'm glad it has been mentioned previously. Seems pretty essential to me. This is a cool app--does exactly what they advertise very well.
I hereby name this function, rolling slip.
That's perfect, thanks. It's tough to describe without sounding dumb. Well, OK, tough for someone like me, apparently. Rolling slip it is!
Maybe one finger drag for normal slip, two finger drag for rolling slip
You're on a roll (pun intended).
Three fingers for slap back slip
Hehehe. Think I've got a chatty head on today lol.
Hang on there a minute, we have to define what something is before we name t and decide how it should be invoked.
Please explain what this slap back is, currently I am imagining it is what your mate does to you when you get a particularly good slip or rolling slip done that gets his or her head bobbing
