fret not, the dev put it on the whiteboard a while back, it's already on it's way.
If @kobamoto can get away with banging on about his panning I'll give it a shot - EXPORT TO LAUNCHPAD NOW (please )
@erossWhile they have delivered far more than I ever expected and this last update was phenomenal, I agree with these two requests.
@Maarten Does it happen when you record into a new project with all empty slots?
and export the panning feature to The Launchpad app while you're at it, fundamental mixing principles have been working out so far, no need to change them.
Careful peeps:
I spent the evening loading in a massive amount of samples (got up to around 800 loops) because I am obsessed, labelled them all, and now I'm frozen out. No no no this can't be happening.
Little bites, my friends.
Will see what I can do to save data somehow. Hopefully it is in the ITunes Fileshare thing.... yikes.
Screen that is stuck is in the user menu, with the Audiocopy/audioshare little window stuck open. Even after restart.
But it IS a lovely app. Don't hug it to death.
Oooh. Painful to learn, but thanks for the heads up, might save someone else having to kick their cat etc. Good luck.
No iTunes file share to speak of. I think I lost all my progress. Maybe the Blocs team can confirm?
OK, so after losing all my work/loops/songs, I have some questions and suggestions.
If I back up my work, will I be able to restore all my progress and loops?
Will I be able to transfer all this info to another device?
If the answer is No or Not Yet, will you please consider it as a necessity?
User loops will need more refining into categories eventually. Perhaps there could be a way to initialize User Packs, which would allow the user to label a new pack, choose a color, and have this be found in a selectable word cloud label when entering group user loop data so that we can sort and find sounds easily. I have to separate synths from kalimbas.
I would like to have a window that sorts by BPM.
Group import. It took a looooong time getting 800+ loops in.
It's great guys. Your constant addition of fresh sounds and features have me all in, but apparently I hugged your app to death. Just keep it going. It is delightful to work with.
You are amazingly sanguine. I applaud you.
The next sample pack will be titled All Things Must Pass and it will be the ghosts of samples lost in the ravages of faltering technology.
I was hoping for an app buying freeze for the rest if this month after Moog 15 wiped me out a week or so ago lol . Wasn't interested in this until I saw the new slice features , and then inevitable I had to part with more cash !
I knocked up a little tune within minutes of opening this app , using my own samples and a couple of built in loops . I used to use Yellofier as a basic slice and sample trigger - and this is like a beefed up version of that , crossed with Samplr and Live )
Haven't had much time with it yet but this is a cracking app that will earn it's keep and fit nicely in my workflow . Fun to use , useful , and a great price too - love it !
Just recorded a bit of live Moog into the app - worked perfectly . Would be nice if it worked in the output / recording slot of aum though ...
you can do this via audiobus. aum=>audiobus input=>audiobus output=>blocs wave.
Yeah thanks I recorded in using AN and aum earlier but it's a bit of a faff - a direct line in with just aum would be easier )
I just became the headline artist! Yay me!
@Launchpadforios A few (simple) ideas for you to consider:
DELETE PACK LOOPS - It would be useful to have the option to delete loops I don't like from the IAP packs. That way the Discover button would be more likely to bring up a result I want to use. And it keeps my system lean for buying more IAP. And people would always have the option to restore purchases.
BACKUP PROJECTS - Unless I'm wrong, the only way we can back up our songs at the moment is to export our pads. It would be nice`to be able to export a Project file, or better, all the project files at once.
PROJECT NAME ON TOP? Also. there's plenty of room on the top to let us see the name of the Project we're currently working on.
Thank you as always. I love the app and everything about the way you are rolling it out.
After the freeze, I ended up having to delete and reinstall. Hope they come up with a backup and transfer system soon, cause this stinks. Starting over from bloc one.
I can't recall from the 80 pages of threads, are there plans to modify the swipe on/swipe off architecture? I'm getting a little better and can kinda/sorta do a whole song without arranging loops elsewhere but it does not like (or I just can't manuever) the multi-swipe-at-once trick. My fingers are already all bendy from switching Samplr loops on and off, this swipe business adds an increased degree of slight difficulty.
honk if you despise humanity's excess of superfluous consciousness.
This app looks better and better. Is there another way to use "slip mode" besides holding that button down while moving the waveform with a second hand? If not I'd like to request that slip mode button be a toggle button instead if possible. Would be much appreciated for us one-handed users out there.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
This was mentioned, but I never saw a reply. It's pretty, but not always reliable. I seem to muff it about 20% of the time, which is a pretty high fail rate for something as central. I don't play live, but if I did....
If there was like a basic sequencer or something, I would probably live inside Blocs for a long time. But I am condemned to wander the iOS musician landscape like a penniless drifter, calling no DAW home, couchsurfing in Blocs and Samplr, but eternally dispossessed...
You been smoking those heroin tablets you got off the interweb again?
that's because Samplr and Blocs have what they don't have in common.
I don't understand the swipe because a simple tap would be far more reliable. I have been playing Blocs Wave in rehearsal with good results but I miss with a swipe from time to time and it makes me unwilling to use in a live gig.
Agree. I would love to hear their thinking. It would also be nice to have the 'swipe' used for something else (many choices).
I find the swipe not fun as well. It's the one thing about Blocs I find annoying.
Wonder if they'll be prepared to climb down on that?
If they do any sort of usability testing, it should be flagged and fixed. Everything I've seen so far indicates that they are an agile shop and pay close attention to UX, so fingers crossed.
would be nice to get the swipe option between slices as to get some of that Samplr/Playground functionality.
I find most software products (not all) have a feature or function that in the end can be almost classed as political, in the sense that it has been championed internally at the right time or by the right person and proves very hard to change. Sometimes (of course) that's because it too deep (by then) in the structure; yes, yes, but too late now. Other times it's more a matter of face. Not suggesting any of that's at play here, but while elegant in the demo (sexy even) it seems, here on the outside, a palpable 'kill your darlings' thing. It gets in the way.
