still waiting for the build to be reviewed by apple, might take a day or so
Take time, my developer! See, I always help you.
indeed you have a great eye paired with intuition Mr. Kaikoo(2)
No it's not fixed, I just tested with cream. Same issue... No kick drum...
Updated to the latest beta.
@cblomert @Nerk
I updated to the new beta and now i have a strange issue where i'm unable to record midi input.
I can see the notes appearing in the clips but only temporarily. I've had this issue before, but it went away. I've just restarted twice but no joy.
I will delete the app and start again... Pain in the ass tho!
there is some extreme weirdness when updating apps in some cases - unfortunately a reinstall is often the only way to get rid of it.
About the cream issue: We do not have cream to test, but did have a very similar issue that sent CC#s to AUs on startup that were not asked for. This issue is fixed. Could you explain the cream issue in more detail? at what point does it break the kick drum? after restoring a session? after dropping cream to the session? after dropping ruismaker as an AU?
In Ruismaker's settings panel (in the iOS Settings app) you can enable "Ignore MIDI CC" switch. You can use this to confirm it is indeed a CC issue. While enabled, Ruismaker will respond only to AU Parameters, not to MIDI CC.
That may help the debugging.
@Brambos,
I am on Modstep beta now.
It does not work by switch off Ruis CC on iPad front setting page. I have also tick off receiving/sending CC circle buttons on Modstep setting.
It is still the same when running Cream on Modstep to Ruis.
It is not a break to kick drum. It is just simple playing Ruis that no instrument name on the 1st instrument button of all 8 instruments. No name and no sound there while Cream is sending C#3 kick (Ruis C#2) midi note to Modstep Ruis. If try to select that button to choose a named instrument it is not selectable in real time running the midi.
It is pure an AU midi sequencing problem. It will not crash anything, only happened with midi channel 1 Ruis instrument on Modstep.
Ok, so it's an AU parameter (or a CC message translated into an AU message) that's causing the issue.
How exactly do you mean: "it's not selectable"?
It is not selectable means you just press that orange button, it indicates 'none' on that button. It show the full list of instruments there, but can not select any one of them. If selecting one of them on list, it will not be shown in that instrument button square. It just no name and no instrument on that.
I am wondering Cream is such dirt cheap and stable app that is one of top 5 arpeggiators of the world!
Why you guys as developers don't want to try that best app. It is just wonderful arpeggiation experience.
Go, developers! Buy Cream Mobile to test your musical skills.
Is it that good ? I have iTunes credit that I would like to spend on something
Also with the MS beta, are you able to remove Ruismaker from a track ?
Personally I've been having oodles of fun running Ruismaker with Patterning. I guess that's an obvious one, but they play really, really well together. (As a dev you have to find ways to keep testing fun
).
Yes, removable on Air 2. The prior (not beata) version also removable.
Oh, yes, Cream Mobile definitely good. You needs to know how other apps working with it. There is secret of mine of course. But generally for whom is interesting midi sequencing should not miss a chance on Cream Mobile.
You have programming skills, it should be a piece of cake for you.
OK bought...

The longest 'chain' I will use.I will be arpegiating into ModStep and recording MIDI, then onto IAA/AUx hosted in AUM (for bussing drums to one track), then recorded into blocs wave and finally into Launchpad....wish me luck
If the arpegiator is no good, I will send you a horse head in the post
Hmm, might need to try uninstall of Modstep, I cannot remove AUx from tracks without crash to multitask list.
@cblomert If I uninstall will I lose projects ?, I have a problem with iTunes on my desktop so cannot backup
, I am sure I have asked you this before, but cannot remember the answer
@AndyPlankton ,
You do not need Modstep in this case. Cream Mobile has 16 patterns chaining on sequencer and 12 patterns on each of 4 instrument midi channels.
Just straight midi to any input on AUM.
I will record the midi though, I will be making loops.....those loops will end up either as audio in Launchpad, or stay as midi in Modstep, or go to sequencer in circuit.
I will record everything in ModStep so i have it all in one place.
ModStep is the silent centre of my musical universe, a bit like the drum and bass players in a band, get no recogniton, and doesn't really get heard on their own, but they are the glue that enables everything else to shine through
@AndyPlankton , you will loose everything, upon re download ModStep comes empty with the demo song...
Why don't you call Apple? They call you back, free call to help you fix the iTunes problem...
Good luck
Which is precisely why you're supposed to backup the files. I copy everything to my pc via ifunbox. Delete, reinstall doesn't matter. Can always copy back the files. I've even copied the projects between iPads. Honestly. This blind hatred for modstep is starting to grate.
@gonekrazy3000
Woah, easy boy. @soundklinik was just answering the question. The answer is correct, and the same is true for every other app unless you take other measures to be sure you've backed up. Truth is not hate. And in this case has nothing to do with ModStep.
sigh i know. Been a bit of a terrible day for me. I'm a little easier to flare up then usual. Sorry if i came across a bit harsh everybody. carry on.
It's like 1:00am for you isn't it? Maybe you should get some sleep buddy!
Sorry to hear you had a bad day. I hope the weekend is better.
@gonekrazy3000
I do backup the files via iTunes , I just have to reboot the laptop first. I'll probably put ifunbax back on the laptop for emergencies
@soundklinik cheers, I'll probably just try a reinstall, not going to lose anything as I have backups.....can't be arsed with their start from the beginning and treat me like an idiot attitude.
Yeah, weird, where and how did you figured out my blind hatred for Modstep? I didn't even see that? I had the impression subject was iTunes..Lol
Modstep is really one of my favourites, and like @wim says I was just answering him what happens...
Actually I use this delete/reinstall to clean up my apps when they get cluttered
@AndyPlankton , I know what you mean with the idiot treatment attitude, I have gone that route a few times
Who doesn't hate iTunes?
It's unreasonable, but I will for some reason do just about anything to avoid using it.
Question for Modstep users: anyone tried Ruismaker on an iPad 4 yet?
@Nerk @cblomert tested again this morning with the new beta. 1.1.3.5
The update hasn't fixed the cream issue.
Please, fix it.
I didn't realize that AU meant "AU only" when I purchased it. Pretty bummed I can't use this as a standalone. Though it did clearly state that in the description, I just must've misread. I hope this is not going to be a common thing in the future. AU is great, but I feel these things should still be able to run by themselves
Not all are. Frekvens is stand alone, IAA, and AU too!
Version 1.0.2 is now @ Apple for review.
