not a slicer as an effect, but as an instrument which sector is definitely an instrument... but something with more control and editing options like blocs wave.... but with (panning) and more individual slice parameters. + the ability to load samples from your iTunes library on your device.
What this really needs is multiple audio outs, standard midi controller presets for all known midi controllers, at least 300 more presets, sample slicer with layering, Adsr per slice, a polyphonic synth engine (x3), au/vst/rack extension support, and most importantly a mariachi band auto following the keyboard input.. I mean without all these features the app is useless.
Btw this app is the most exciting thing to come out this year for me
Apesoft/Amazing Noises are incredible assets to the iOS music community
+1000
Not the mariachi band?
I'd never say 'no' to something just because I don't use it, there's no need for me to speak on features I don't use.
the sooner we learn to sing kumbaya together and un-learn the need to say no to other peoples workflows the happier we'll all be.
IAA host sync in Moebius Lab would be very nice as so much of what it does revolves around bpm related control and effects so you wouldn't need an app like AUM just to provide IAA host sync. An alternative would be to use Link to MIDI to sync the MIDI clock of sector to Moebius Lab.
While there can still be room for a slicer type instrument app for iOS, I agree with others who suggest a separate app which can then be run inside of Moebius Lab or other IAA host apps and AB.
that already exist.... what doesn't exist is a slicer inside Moebius Lab.... so the workflow for those folks is already catered to but those of us who don't want to go to another app for slicing like you don't for IAA sync, we need one in Moebius Lab.... it is an audio laboratory after all, and what's an audio laboratory without a good sample slicer.
Just bought this and spent 1hr jamming. Really like this a lot. Worth $20 (Aus price).
I love the app I was just making a suggestion to make it better. And it is about workflow as Kobamoto said. In iOS the more you don't have to rely on syncing apps the better.
SLICER-SAMPLER idea...you can load Egoist into IAA INPUT, #1
It has a very good sampler-slicer-loop player that can be set up as you want.
Now open keyboard and check IAA input #1.
Notes are C4-D#5 on keyboard.
Egoist has to be in pattern and keyboard mode so scenes show on the bottom right.
Furthermore there are 16! Scenes in Egoist so there can be 16 different loops with different settings.
I'd like to figure out how to change the scenes and make the clock run ...
Took a screenshot of setup but can't upload it, it says it's too big? Lol
Super combo for sound manipulation in Audiobus: Moebius > Flux FX
So long as a built-in slicer can be turned off and put away when I don't need it. I prefer a clean lab with only the equipment I'm using for a particular project and not cluttered with extraneous equipment. Upgrading the lab's infrastructure with IAA host sync would benefit all researchers.
as much as I like Adrian as a guitar player: Flux doesn't cut it soundwise
(bought it, tried it, sacked it - using Holderness effects ever since)
Flux may work under life conditions (where audio rarely is 'optimal'), but not in recording/studio processing
same applies to Turnado: funky tweaking - weak sound
cheers, Tom
Question: is it possible to change preset ONLY, while keeping all IAAs, inputs/outputs?
In other words leave everything as is only change patch...
I like the feature of everything being saved, sometimes I would only like to see what a different preset would do to my setup...so I don't have to reload everything...
Thanks
I see what you mean now, and that's helpful, but I'm referring to the input mode. I'd like to keep the input as the physical input, rather than jumping to the sampler. Is that possible?
Not ATM, but noted.
@mauriziogiri I don't know what the 'audio-term' is but purely mathematical it would be cool to have an effect that 'rotates/moves' the wave on the Y(Bias)-Axis. Yes it will create warping & distortion and other mayhem but then again this app is good for that anyway
Don't know how to do it but let's take the idea that we have an Tri/Sine-Wave LFO/VCO(from ultra slow to audio-rate) and the output from the LFO with a 'sample & hold feature' is used to adjust the Y-Axis/Bias of sample/input when it's played back.
Both the depth and rate of the LFO/VCO would have huge impact on the over-all sound and allow for some nice sound-shaping. The LFO/VCO could be also controlled by the keyboard, depth controlled by velocity etc...
This could also be applied to X-Axis where the current buffer is more or less 'rotated' by an LFO/VCO.
I know similar tricks can be accomplished with SunVox but a 'Y-Warp/Rotate' module could be an interesting addition to Moebius Lab
yes please. i second the locked input. btw. just realized there doesn't seem to be Ableton link implementation yet. is this planned eventually ? since i'd like to use it as an effects processor on my desktops Ableton via either studiomux or my iconnectaudio4+ and on both fronts midi sync for tempo is pretty terrible going from the windows desktop to the ipad but works damn well via LINK.
+1 i'd like a lock to audio input mode too.
But at least you can midi learn a controller to change it quickly which helps until this is added.
aaaah it's the infamous 'I' in team, well I think a slicer would benefit all users who choose to use it. generally speaking a slicer is not in the way unless you load up a sample into it as the main body of a slicer is the samples own wavform..... I think you're safe as long as you stay away from the import button.
Great idea.... as usual!
It seems like you did some creative slicing of my post as well. I don't think my approach to lab clutter is a slicer specific issue but rather the interface being very busy as is and if more built-in nodes are added, I'd prefer to have an elegant solution for deciding which ones need to be on the work bench at any given point in time.
that's a great feature itself, hidden/reveal of nodes !!! lets hope the Dev is feeling this one too, way to go infocheck!
I should have tagged the dev on my post with the idea so it doesn't get lost...

Can anyone make comparisons between Moebius and Amazing Noise's Max4Live spectral device called Spectrum Effects 2? The spectral functions seem somewhat similar. thank you!
Ableton Link is already available: tap on the little chain icon on the upper left.
Oh wow. I didn't realise that meant link lol. Thanks
