Keep trying :) It's the nice exchanges that make this place work.

  • Good news. We've just released Blocs Wave 8.3 today.

You'll find the new loop start marker in it as discussed quite heavily in this thread.

We do hope you enjoyed it.

    Yiiiiiiiihaaaaaaa !!!
Can't wait to update when back from work tonight (more excited than a kid on Xmas eve)... If it does what I hope it does, then it will make Bloc Waves the ultimate app missing in my workflow, and I will be so happy that I'll buy a few sample packs IAPs just to thank the devs...
    Peace.

EDIT : I hope it will be available on the French app store tonight... It does not seem to be the case yet when I check on itunes website...

    Must Try harder

  • The update has hit the UK store :)

  • And The Switzerland Store thx blocsxnovation

  • USA its on baby !

  • I'm quite liking the way they've gone about this. I must say, it might not please everyone, but it really is a good compromise that won't destroy what was already being done in most people's projects.

    Well done @blocsxnovation

@blocsxnovation new feature is working for the most part, though on some clips, after stopping and then playing, it would not start at the new "1" but begin from the original beginning. On others, it was starting a few ticks behind the marker. Unless I'm doing something wrong. These were recorded clips.

Are you running recorded slices in a different order?, as the start point ignores these so that you can still do slice orders.

  • Setting the start-point is super nice for creating 'slap-back echoes' on drum loops :)

No. Regular loop mode. In practice, it's functioning properly. It's just some loops were not beginning at the marker, I could still get them where I wanted by moving it until it was right, but the marker was rendered useless as a visual indicator. This would be really problematic when zooming in to set finer points, as it would be starting at a point visible zoomed in, but could only be adjusted by the marker, which may now be off screen.

Yep the marker seems to start after the wave starts. Is it making any sound changes?

  • Getting some groovy results 'playing the marker', I.e. Moving it, as it moves the play time line with it :p

  • The great thing about Blocs is the way we can use it in ways even the devs didn't think of ;)

  • @Fruitbat1919 the playhead was starting after the marker only some of the time, most of the time the playhead started right on the marker as would be expected. So if you happen to be zoomed in, you may find yourself trying to adjust the playhead start with the marker that would be offscreen. Not good.

  • So how about those big improvements. Are they still on schedule?

Hmmm I'm not quite getting it lol. Maybe I need more coffee to get my head working :D

  • Thanks for the update! So awesome to get these updates for free! Keep up the good work development team.

  • @blocsxnovation

What I would love now is a way to record 8 separate Wav stems live. I'm coming up with some cool happenings playing the wave sets and messing with settings on the fly. I want to be able to record the different blocs played live or feed them to separate audio outs.

Blocs is so close to being its own live jamming instrument :)

Imagine being able to send each Blocs channel to an individual Channel in AUM...that would be amazing

Would be a dream come true. Could have the basic loops playing in Launchpad into AUM and play the loops in Blocs live. Sliding loops in and out of the beat. Making loop slices on the fly and sliding them too.

  • Even greater. Imagine Novation making Launchpad with separate outs and being able to feed Blocs live. Imagine then recording and warping Launchpad loops in Blocs on the fly live and dangerous B)

  • I thing it is a clever solution. I wasnt expecting that, very simple. Seems to flatten nice too. Good work @blocsxnovation

  • Plus. Novation make hardware. Imagine a hardware device designed to control this live use of Blocs and Launchpad ;)
