    Respect o:)

  • I also have BCR2000 and FCB 1010 from Behringer and they are bothfantastic devices, even they could do more on the customization software...

  • Oops saw one on eBay for £20 and couldn't resist. Have to say it works well and if it's any consolation it will increase my purchases of sound packs and effects on launchpad.....

  • Definitely funny that Novation felt butt hurt by this controller, enough to actually post in this thread...
    Few corrections here
1 Behringer gear always breaks = Nonsense
2 Novation being innovators with Launchpad =Nonsense (It itself was just a cheap version of something else by an innovator, hmmm much like the tc64)

I own a launchpad and at tc64, both are comparable in terms of quality, both are also going to be sold, however tc64 works with hardware that my original launchpad at least cant work with, because it needs proprietary drivers.

If novation want to step up, they should open the Launchpad app up to any MIDI controller, and release ot for wondows, save me having to buy RemixLive.
Novation have and are innovators, but lets be clear here, while Behringer do release a lot of copies, they have very much innovated too.

  • I am not about to tell someone what to buy.

    I don't know their circumstances.

Internet is so funny how people develop exaggerated loyalty or relationships to things or companies for whom their is no real world reason. Mixed with hyper self importance and a faulty knowledge base, it is a recipe for the true frivolity of ego and anonymity.

Company shill for the sake of it? I don't get it. Now if you are getting paid like some internet app whores I get it.

I appreciate learning about the product.

I love Novation. It is all I use.

I also love that competition and market forces will mean the eventual dropping of prices for me to buy more Novation stuff.

  • I'm struggling to figure out which company produced which samples in BlocsWave. I do not have Launchpad.

@blocsxnovation Would you please help shed some light on this? I'm confused by the wording on
    http://blocs.cc/soundpacks
    Specifically this:

all of the samples included with the app are royalty-free.

    Does this mean

    • samples originally bundled with BlocsWave excluding in-app-purchases
      ... or

    • all samples bundled and purchasable from within BlocsWave

I could not find info in the licence agreements specifying which sample packs they apply to, and within BlocsWave I cannot find any information identifying sample origin or attribution.

Please help? I be grateful. :)

  • As I read it all the samples you can buy in the BW app you can use in your own music even if you sell it, but some of the ones available in Launchpad are only for home use.

It is the 'Artist' packs in Launchpad that are for home use only....all of the genre type packs are royalty free. The name of the pack should give it away to you, and I think currently all BW packs are genre style packs.

FYI: Loop Tunes has MIDI Learn now I believe, and I think the concept is superior.

PLUS THE SOUND QUALITY IS BEST AVAILABLE in my opinion.

Right, I get more people asking about the app in the YouTube video that I posted. The tc64 has got me into notation BIIIIG TIME. I'd like to buy the launch control xl now. As far as behringer goes, I own alot of their gear too. I got their iPad docking station, the fcb1010 pedal, 2 tc65's :) a four channel mixer and 2 uca202 audio interfaces. The mixer and 1 of the audio interfaces are from 2010 and they all still work. Behringer products have been solid for me.

  • you can never have too many Novation products :)

  • I actually bought (and use) this thing as a cheap monome.

what do you like better about loop tunes?

The DJ set up having 2 distinct sides.

LPad gets messy for me sometimes(I mean loaded with all my created own apps).

This division is a personal like that allows me to better organize my flow. I usually load my loops of a song and then "Faux-Form" the loops into a recording into Cubasis. That recording being the song. I like the live feel of transitions and drops.

The dev is SUPER cool and responsive to concerns and suggestions.

You get 20 loops to pick when you get the app and can get 20 more for 2 bucks.

HOWEVER, if you delete the app, it clears out and you can pick a fresh 20. Its fucking awesome.

LOW memory usage and CPU for how complex and heavy this is dealing with samples.

HUGE xy pads for multiple efffects.

I can prob go on and on.

MIDI learn just hit or is this week. I beta so I am not sure if it is public.

2 thumbs up on this app all the way.

It is a music maker with aDJ mindset a dream clip app.

Looptunes has native MIDI support for Novation products as well.

It even works great with my Launchkey controlling it with top pads and sliders while having my keyboard for synth apps.

I just think it is a style thing. Loop Tunes checks all my boxes.

hows the time stretching, is it pitch and time independent, and what about the fx are they as good as launchpad app?

I might have to get it. Can u do 1shots or "hold" on the pads?..and hit multiple pads simultaneously on the same row?

  • I'm a fan of Looptunes meself. Been waiting for MIDI learn so this is good news!

    Multiple pads yes.

I have to check on one shots, I don't see why not.

    Let me check tonight.

  • regarding the time stretching in Looptunes - all loops get stretched to synchronize to the beat. The loops require little cpu to stretch. You can also set the pitch for each loop, even while they are playing.
I can't speak much for the fx. I'd like to note though that I added 3 fx in the latest version (strobe, degrade, and tapestop)

yes, you can play multiple pads on the same row, as well as same column.
You can't do one shots yet. I'll add that eventually, depending on demand.

  • thanks for responding Sonicreef, of course i've been keeping my eye on the development of your fine app.
what fx might you have planned for the near future?

  • @ sonicreef: What does it mean Launchpad controller support?

  • check out the latest video posted on https://www.facebook.com/looptunes. This showcases the Launchpad support.

  • @sonicreef Are you working on any additional import options? It's currently just iTunes, yes? I know you said you were looking into AudioShare. Some cloud options would be welcome, too.

  • yeah, I'm still looking into AudioShare, as well as cloud options. I had to prioritize other features first though.

I just checked out that video and I think i would find it hard to know what I was doing as the person in the vid is pressing unlit pads on the LP, so there is no indication as to what those pads will do.

It would also be a good idea to match the pad colours to those in app pad (for LP Pro/MkII owners) as this really does help with knowing where you are within a bunch of loops.

  • not just iTunes, it also has AudioPaste support.

  • they do. The lower 4 rows reflect the pads in the app, the top two rows let you select one of 8 fx for each session/side, the 3rd row triggers the effect (simulating 4 different x values), and the 4th row (not demo'ed in the video) lets you mute the respective tracks.
