Well it won't run as a vst it's an FL studio only plug in
they rereleased a generic toy for whatever reason (there must be a reason to this as Scott implied in his unique dicky style!). not worth any bandwidth to download...
No, and it doesn't host anything else either.
FLM3 is really a super bad joke...
but with a reason as the ever dicky Scott explained!
Yes @Samu its nothing more
My guesses are there are two reasons.
1 have the same feature set accross all devices, so screw you iOS users who are used to having a better feature set
2 build a wall around it like tabletop to force sell IAPs
Where are the IAA And the midi apps ? They put option to change color but they forgot the essential .The previous version was far far better .I want it back ,the new fl studio is shit
I'm going to reserve judgment on this before making any knee jerk comments. I need to spend some time with it. In my view, Image-line are a pretty good company and they know what they're doing.
Yes, it's a closed system (like Gadget), does that make it a non-starter ?
Can you please quote/link to this rationale? I'd be interested to read their view.
no, cause he didn't elaborate on these reasons. he just stopped by and told us there are reasons...
The point is It WASNT a closed system before the update but now it is.
Currently all platforms have the same functionality....and this allows easy sharing of projects between devices...it is actually easier to transfer a project from iOS to Android than it is to get audio from one app into another in iOS....
It won't suit everyone, but if portability of your work is a real thing for you then you will be hard pushed to find anything easier to use than this Image-Line eco system.
The included synths and FX are great...and the rack system works really well...once you have got used to the UI and where stuff is it becomes a really easy tool to use.
well it was an open system with iaa instruments and effects. and for the sake of improvement (which i can not see btw) they opted to close it...
FLM3 is brilliant for Android users, I'm not sure if it offers anything new for iOS users though...hopefully it will get updated with plugins like Slicex, Edison and Harmless.
Not only that, all the nice iCloud Drive / DocumentPicker support is gone and we're left with AudioCroppy...
Is it a joke ? I don't care of the sharing project if I can't use any IAA synth . This is not an update it's a sabotage .We will make a petition and have the old version back as we have done for the Roli Noise .Everybody is mad about tabletop but what Image line have done is purely a scam !
+1
One of the reasons I gravitate towards Gadget is that it is a closed system (albeit with a lot of options) It's stable, all the instruments and FX always open fine, all the presets and parameters and everything opens up properly.
Personally, I didn't use the previous version of FL, so it's not such an issue for me.
It makes a new track and records a new midi clip when overdubbing which is great but I can't figure out a way to merge the clips. Does anyone know if the overdubbed midi clips can be merged?
I don't own FL Studio Mobile. About the critique it gets here the only thing I can say is that cross platform compatibilty is hell. So I can understand that if you sell your audio app as truly cross platform you can't do Windows/Mac AU and VST. The only thing you could do is develop different versions for specific platforms. But in that case you can't say it's cross platform compatible anymore. Note there are a lot of iOS user that work on Windows computers, which happens to be also the largest group of FL Studio users.
Crashy as f&^ - Not a good start.
THIS IS THE TO DO LIST
These things are already on our to-do list and will be implemented ASAP:
Fine/complex Snap Divisions
Time signature settings
Fix audio recording sync with playlist
Freeze Playlist tracks
MIDI import/export
MP3 import / export - Android already has MP3 Export
Note names on all white Keys
Presets save when using custom samples in Directwave
Split Playlist track export to WAV
Windows Continuum Support
Drag-and-drop Audio/MIDI between FL Studio Plugin and FL Studio
Background Audio mode (iOS)
FL Studio Mobile 2 Note
There are a few missing features from FL Mobile 2 that we will add ASAP (MIDI import-export, MP3 import-export, Keyboard labels).
Conspicuous lack of making IAA instruments and effects and Audiobus work on iOS
What about AudioShare compatibility, wav import/export without the use of iTunes, Dropbox support, Open In etc.
You know, stuff that users are always asking for with every app that comes out. I bought it and it's OK but needs some tweaks for sure. I did get the beginnings of a pretty cool track down pretty quickly so I'm giving it a chance.
what its got: audio tracks (inc. 4 ext ins), drum sample machine, multi-sample sampler instrument, one osc synth, two osc synth. Which is to say a couple of (big) things Gadget doesn't have. And yes, like Gadget, it doesn't host IAA or AU.
The multi sample instrument is set up to load instruments made in FL Studio desktop, which means whatever vst patches, or edited audio you've got on PC you can load as an instrument in Mobile. That feature was enough for me to reinstall Fruity on PC.
Workflow-wise it's as easy as Auxy, but using real synths, and sampler instruments (including user samples and all the instruments from FLM2). Are there features "missing" (meaning things I miss)? Yes, as is also the case with Gadget and Tabletop and all the rest. I'd most like to see midi and audio stem export, if anyone's asking, and it sounds like that's in the plan.
They are less instruments than in the old version .Yes gadget is closed but gadget have a tons of synth and the synth have standalone too ( im1 , odyssee ,wave station). Imagine that Auria Pro or cubase have a new update without midi out and only their own synth , it would be a riot . Now we have a Fl studio with only few presets ( we must pay to have their crappy synth ) and we can't use moog model 15 , iWAVESTATION or Turnado or Effectrix as IAA . It's a total jump in the past , we are not on android , there are tons of good IAA synth and effect on iOS , I want to use them .Even the step editor is gone for synth (the step editor was the symbol of fl studio .I see that they propose a downgrade for android user , I hope it will be the same for iOS cause I can't keep an app without midi out , we are in 2016 .Imagine line if you are reading us , please offer us the downgrade for iOS !!
@grego68 which instruments are missing?
All the IAA And AU synth and (poison, animoog , the korg synth etc ) and the effect ( turnado , effectrix ) Etc .I can't find them where are they ? Imagine Auria Pro with Only the fabfilter synth ...Perhaps Im stupid and I haven't found them but everybody said that is a closed system now , a kind of groove box without midi and IAA And AU ...
In fairness FLM 2 didn't host AU either.
But at least it could do 3/4 (and others) not just 4/4
And it could go in both AB slots so you could record effects and it had AB transport controls
What's AU dudes?
I gave them your lecture on the IL forum a few minutes ago, professing the glories of Filepicker....
