@Dubbylabby it's just the internet.
The new MPC has me reconsidering a used MV8080. I'm not attached to the MPC workflow (never owned one) but MIDI sequencing, beat making and sampling and sample manipulation and sample chopping and a few audio tracks inside of a dedicated box with dedicated controls is very alluring. How seemlessly all that stuff is brought to life is the question for me. Looking forward to real world reviews, particularly by non-MPC heads.
Really hoping for a new Boss looper, with 24 bit conversion , all teh features of rc 505, but with solid build quality of th rc 300, and if its battery powerable too, all my dreams come true
anyone know of any new tc electronics boxes coming out?
but MIDI sequencing, beat making and sampling and sample manipulation and sample chopping and a few audio tracks inside of a dedicated box with dedicated controls is very alluring is pretty much the mpc workflow, the MV is not much different besides the screen/mouse, linear vs non-linear presentation.... kind of like bm2, and I always liked the fx on the MV better than what akai offered. As a matter of fact I'm still hoping they reveal a new MV this year.
@Dubbylabby
I see your 'you got served'
and raise you a 'hammer don't hurt'em hammer'........ chuckles..... ahh kids these days.
My predication will be universal audio releasing the uad platform for ios
A hardware compressor controlled by an ipad for recall, around 5 large.
What I'm looking forward to though is structural effects by eventide, has me excite!
I can't wait to see what Nord does, if they improve on the Nord A1 I'm going to go nuts!
-Giddy with anticipation
Funny. Found myself going through the 'Delete if not updated' folder and playing with Nordbeat which, while simple, I found really entertaining. Wish they'd update that....
me too, I wonder what's up with that
Think that's a J Lilla joint.
Arp odyssey fs looks cool![B) B)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)
Damn, what is this? Just watched the video... Nsw algorithm for the H9 or something new altogether? Hoping it's the first...
Just found on audiotechnology.com.au
Eventide has told us what we can expect to see at its stand at NAMM 2017. The company will be unveiling a new plug-in technology called Structural Effects that can cleanly split a sound into its tonal and transient components. Each of the components can then be individually processed before recombining them.
Eventide’s resident fossil Tony Agnello is a little excited. “It’ll be fun to watch as the industry grapples with something as ground-breaking and revolutionary as Structural Effects. The technique makes it possible to mess with sounds in ways that we’ve only dreamt of. In fact, we’re getting results from testers that defy our imaginations. We can’t wait to hear the sounds that artists and sound designers will create as they explore the new world of structural effects.”
Also to be expected is a new multi-effect algorithm for Eventide’s H9 Harmonizer platform called PitchFuzz. The new set of effects combines delay, pitch-shifting and distortion to interesting and unique sounds from a single stompbox. With three chromatic voices, you can create virtual chords and route them before or after the fuzz and delay effects.
Thirdly, Eventide announced that its Tverb plug-in, made in collaboration with producer Tony Visconti, has been nominated for a TEC Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in the category of Signal Processing Software (Effects).
So... PitchFuzz it is then for me.
Love the H9. But if the Structural Effects plugin - which seems kind of re-synthesis-ish - can do what I'm imagining it might be able to, picking up the Ensemble subscription for a few months a year looks mighty attractive...
The H9 is something I'd like to pick up, after I heard a few demos on youtube, I thought my hardware days were behind me a few years back, but the temptation is calling out my name, pitch shifted.
I bought the anthology X bundle in the black friday sales for a steal, so if you hear a welp when they announce the prices for structural fx plugin it will be me, unless it's part of anthology bundle for free, which is doubtful, but yeah seems very promising, even though there is hardly any info, love eventide stuff.
love Dave Spiers to death
Yep, me too. The Anthology X bundle looks great. I have two H9s - one of them Max to share all the algorithms across both - and I just love them. Deep control possibilities with midi CC as well as the H9 control iOS app, which is very well-designed, but I just don't trust Bluetooth for live situations. Having dedicated boxes means I can play my Nord Drum through them without worrying about latency. It's there but much lower than what I'm able to manage with PC VST or iPad effects. And yes, pitch-shifted voices - I didn't get these babies specifically for the harmonising possibilities but I'm finding that the PitchFactor algorithms are great inspiration generators.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
As for more Nord stuff, I'm hoping I can afford to pick up a Nord Lead 4 Rack before they disappear, as I've heard they've stopped production. This stuff can get so expensive! I'm currently eyeing the Elektron Analog Heat, wondering how long I can hold out...
Teaser from Teenage Engineering's Instagram.
New ADAM Audio S-Series.
Bitwig Studio 2
NAMM 2017 will be very interesting......and expensive![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Had this as an eBay search for years. Never shows up. Sorry.
We've heard a bunch of Korg newsblurts, but I wonder … I wonder if … I wonder if they're going to do a "oh, just one more thing"?
Some of you may know of the existence of an Arp 2600 clone in recent-ish years, the TTSH. This is a quite good, reasonably accurate replication of the original Arp 2600 (a hybrid of the best-of version types). The PSU and power amplifiers are different but the rest of it is reasonably close enough with perfectly viable modern component substitutions where older ones are unavailable or simply improved over what they had in those days. So much so that I've rebuilt my own Arp 2600 VCA (currently on breadboard only) from the original circuit diagram, but referred to the TTSH circuit now and then because it was a bit neater (but unfortunately smaller) to read and used transistors I had, or could get (ironically they were the ones I were planning on substituting the originals with anyway, although I've made some changes). Then the TTSH disappeared. The original source of the parts, PCB, panel, kits, etc dried up, with no re-runs for quite some time now. I wonder … I wonder if Korg have played a part in this (that's my conspiracy theory), and we'll one day see what basically used to be the TTSH, as a Korg offering.
The Arp Odyssey FS isn't all it could be in my opinion. Looking at the midi implementation chart for it available on the korg website, it seems it accepts note on velocity. Unfortunately, the keyboard itself doesn't put out any variable velocity (fixed at 64 - midway). If it accepts it, what does it actually do with velocity this time? The app, Odysse-i, deals with velocity explicitly, switchable to either VCA or VCF and even has an additional slider and switch wedged into the gap for this purpose.
I'm not sure about the implementation on MV8000/8800 but it has realtime pitch stretch aka Variphrase. Maybe not so straightforward like sp606, mc909, mc808 and variphrase series (vp9000, variOS, vsynth)...
So I don't know if it could do the trick or realtime pitching over slicing and rearrange melodies like in the vid but different beast if it can (maybe with fx as you pointed or like voice transformer of the sp-series)
About the other part of your message you have all the facts, people has eyes to check them all so I'm happy you are still waiting to know more about new mpc before purchase. I had the impression you know ALL about a "still not released product" which is... funny?![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Anyways I've posted another mpclive video about real life use and other mpc users opinions more rooted to reality pointing in the same direction as I did.
If we are agree in something is about Roland should release a new MV/Sp808 shaped machine (but with Variphrase) or almost a boutique sampler box with Variphrase (aside the vocoder one they have released) ala volca... but it will not going to happen or almost cheaper than mpclive or ToRaiz. Numark needs to prove longevity in their gear but Roland/edirol is usually more overpriced (even in second hand) compared to. As you see not hating the machine or workflow since I know some about them but also I've learnt to didn't expect miracles.
I forgot to say... "I'm out of mpc discussion. Good luck"
Positive grids drums ai is due out the first quarter of 2017. Been in beta awhile now correct? Possible NAMM release?
Something new from Elektron.
Or maybe a shitty camera?
