@dwrae you are killing it! Really impressive work.
Here’s a nice video I found of basic sample chopping:
How about light grey at the beginning of each bar, and dashed/dotted light grey for beats?
And medium grey for dividing different horizontal lanes?
Plus a horizontal dotted medium grey line in the middle for any parameter that is zero in the center, like panorama/balance, pitch bend, tuning...
Quick question: is there a way to do sidechain compression in AEM? I can see the toneboosters compressor has a sidechain hpf knob, whatever that means?
If not, does the app support au transport required for sidechain in pumphouse by audio damage?
I think white lines on the black borders will work.
Further clarification:
@dwrae that is truly great, we all appreciate how fast your are working, this is so much important for us iOS musicians!!
Do you think you could also implement midi clock?
I appreciate Davey’s work but updating the manual at least should be the first order of business. I’m out.. Going back to Garageband
I’m sure that will get updated as things settle down. Right now we are in the middle of an awesome streak of development! I’m sure that as soon as things settle down development-wise the manual will be updated. In the meantime, ask here. Many of us can help you! 🙂
True, @Audiojunkie . As evidenced by my most recent query about punch in.. I can’t figure out how some of you like @Littlewoodg just figure this stuff out though..
Ok so what I’ll do is continue to try and follow Tim Webb’s video and when it veers off a little because of some of it being for Android and because of some recent changes, I’ll post the video, a time stamp and a question which I think will be beneficial for all.
@gusgranite , Thanks!
Wha?? But... but...
I just bought this on the strength of the features being added to this app. Please don’t stop now to work on a manual... keep the features coming! We haven’t got to warp markers yet!
@gusgranite :Lol....see how different people are?😊
I know, right! Pity the developers having to work it all out.
Has anyone figured out sidechain compression in AEMS?
GB is as you know my first DAW too. But I think it’s worth it to insist on AEMS even if it’s a destabilizing whole new workflow to learn, especially because it has AU midi and AU automation. That can be useful, and not necessarily a GB replacement. For its price its ok to test and its dev seems to be very active and listen to users. Same thing with Stagelight with its internal thin sounding sounds but which has lot of potential and AU support planned. There are not lot of iOS DAWS, so I think it’s really important to really try new ones.
@dwrae I just chopped up a track I wanted to sample so quickly. First impression is very very good! I think AEMS might the little workflow piece I was missing. I’m looking forward to learning more. Thank you for this great bit of software!
Yeah I rather have the dev fixing things and implementing new features right now... I saw he did 25 updates in a year to the app so he is very dedicated... I'm sure the manual will be updated later on..
No, no sidechain atm.
Are you using external MIDI gear? If not, then the app uses the host/AU communication to send timing/sync info that is way more accurate than midi clock.
I'm sorry to hear that, but hardly anyone reads manuals. Yes, it needs updating, but the tutorial videos cover a lot of ground.
I'd appreciate that. There is very little Android specific though.
Ok, here’s another anomaly.. At 2:58 when he presses the “mono” button there, after choosing “audio track” two lists come up .. One on the left which seem to be auv3 instruments and an input list on the rigjt. I get the auv3 list on the left . But my right list is a blank. I presently have a track of audio recorded .. Why?
This is what I get when I press that top button (mono)

The link is not public
Sorry, it is now ..I hope

No this is for midi sync with other apps like Korg Gadget or apeMatrix.
And they cannot be used as AUv3 or IAA?
Ok> @Telstar5 said:
Ok, so you selected the microphone which is always mono. What if you select an IAA? Please also note that in the end, if you already have a clip on the track, you cannot select a stereo input on a mono track and v.v.
You mean the auv3 column on the left, right? I got that.. It’s my column on the right that’s blank, the input column. Are you saying I need to have something plugged in (as Time does /Prophet 12 ) to have something show up on that input list?
