It’s especially noticeable if you are trying to play something on 1 but hit it a tad early (as the loop is “turning the corner”.
Solved in next release.
Alright I’m gonna have to check this out. You’re so friggin quick and responsive.
Great!
I submitted this version to Apple for review, but they are closed between the 23rd and the 27th so this may take a short week to get published. It will include the Evolution One synth and Vocal Tune PRO as well.
@dwrae Is it possible for AEM to see that I already have installed ToneBoosters apps and unlock them without IAP? I’d like to use the versions imbedded in AEM to save some space on my phone but I don’t want to repurchase them.
Thinking similar to how Korg Gadget 2 can see that I’ve installed Electribe Wave and Module and let’s me install those IAPs. Then I can uninstall the individual apps.
I doubt they take up a lot of space. Looking if other apps are installed from a different vendor might also be against policy rules, at least it is on Android so I'm not going there, sorry.
Are you not able to load the AUv3 versions of ToneBoosters in AEM?
Of course it can.
@dwrae thanks for remembering my request 🙏
Fair enough. What’s the lag time between ToneBoosters updates and the AEM version updating?
Also, is it possible to get the on-screen keyboard and AU on the screen at the same time? It helps with sound design workflow.
Was thinking how cool it would be if Synth One had the visual design elements of Evolution One. According to Tim at Discchord it's a reworked version of Synth One. Any plans to release as AUv3?
Or @analog_matt could this be a skin for Synth One?
Oh, funny, I just answered this in the other thread:
Apple has banned apps and developers from the App Store for people who took the Synth One code and put it on the App Store without too many alterations. Although that MIGHT not be applicable here, I just don't want to go there because 1) my income depends on app sales and 2) I don't find it appropriate with respect to AudioKit.
Hmmmm, OK. very interesting...thanks. More good incentive for people to get the DAW then!
If I want to make a drum track by using an app, I don't use a drum track, right? Do I program and edit the drums in the app and then record them into the DAW?
Please excuse the questions, I'm new to iOS music making.
I bought AEM to use as my DAW, I bought an app called Soft Drummer, then found out it doesn't show up in the list of apps I can use inside of AEM. Is it not an IAA?
Is there a similar drum app (acoustic drums) that is compatible with AEM? (I'm finding the drum sounds in AEM to be not great. The included synth sounds wonderful, though!)
Thanks for your thoughts.
@dwrae : any idea why LUMBeats apps like SoftDrummer don’t show up ad MIDI instrument choices? Other IAA apps do.
There are so many options these days so it also depends on the app you use.
Some apps would present themselves as AU instrument and you would need to create an instrument track and select the AU instrument there.
If it is not listed there, what you can try then is use it as IAA input, so create an audio track, select the input button on the track (it's on top of the last mixer page) and see if your app is listed there. Then select it. Now you should be able to arm the track, press record and record the audio output of the other app.
Or use AudioBus..
There is no mention of IAA or AU in the Soft Drummer app's description. I think it's best to ask them since I don't feel like shelling out 20 euro for it just to find out whether it works or not.
The standard drum sounds may not all be that great, but the instrument shop has some good drum kits available. I'll leave the drum app question to others since there are probably people here with far more experience than me.
No need to shell out 20 euro for it just to find out whether it works or not, because it doesn't! Thanks for the reply.
You can add SoftDrummer and other IAA generator apps. Add them as AUDIO tracks not MIDI. You can select Soft Drummer as an audio source when the track is an audio track.
Audio Evolution Mobile Studio 3.5.1 released:
Just as a tip for everyone, as I almost thought it's a bug: when using external controllers and sending MIDI on different channels via MIDI Instrument tracks in AEM make sure you tick the "Keep" in the Channel Information setting at the MIDI input of each track. Otherwise no midi coming in will be recorded even if you will hear the output when the track is armed.
Is it possible to set tempo based on external midi clock
The app can send midi clock, but not receive it.
It needs to Receive MIDI clock, PLEASE!!!
That explains the problem, thank you!
Which is true for other DAWs such as Cubasis and Auria pro as well, @abf. This isn't specific to AEM. It's just the way some apps that the developers label "Generators" work. It's an iOS thing.
First iOS daw to figure out how to be a slave to external midi clock will make a killing
