@soundklinik to be honest I've only used quantize in this current update, but previously I used with and without and had no issues. Things worked as expected and yes I was able to practice or come up with a line prior to recording with no issues. also remember velocity is is the height of the key, if you hit at the bottom you might not hear the note. Done that before
How do you change the metronome tempo when recording a drum beat?
I'm beginning to wonder if something like 3D touch has an impact on the quantization thing. For those who have no quantize issues, which devices are you using?
OK, I deleted and reinstalled the updated version and NO latency...at least not noticeable.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Nothing like before....solved.
Thanks all for tips and help
Change the global tempo, in the settings panel accessed from the surface screen in non editing mode
Works great to me.
So glad to hear! Reinstall works great but I forget sometimes to back up my projects.
Thanks!
Did this app change everything?
KRFT is SICK.
Now, what about multi channel export and midi export?
Or maybe I am missing something?
Edit, will love the ability to buy projects (sets)
Right now I'd like the developers to concentrate on midi out cause with LayR and AUM and upcoming AB3 we can have multi out no problem! Don't wanna over complicate this beautiful app! IMHO.
The App deserves a beautiful export system like UVI's Beathawk (both midi and wav) so I can bring my projects into my Desktop DAW.. And add some of those VSTs (midi) that I spent so much money on.
Yeah, all of what you said, but perhaps especially the last bit. While one CAN go back into AP or Gadget and take another run at things, this playground makes it a wholly different bucket of canolis. Proof that the right functionality in (creative) software can really see one and one make three. AND I'm not even using the Morph, Fill, Dial or Group tools yet....
I think the underlying thing that makes KRFT so much fun is the simple fact that the user is allowed to organize the musical material in their own customized way. When you have a DAW or whatever, Gadget, AUM, etc, there's a tendency to create the music with this subconscious awareness of how it's going to be required to be organized on a timeline or in scenes, etc. Theres always a feeling of "if I do it this way or that way, I might mess things up or make things difficult later". But with the simple idea of a custom performance interface, those worries go away. You are free to focus on the individual musical moments, knowing that you can organize them any way you wish and make it work somehow.
Well said.
We've been discussing midi out, stem export recently. It would be a fair bit of work to get solid but doable. How much is it worth to you guys? Thinking of an IAP.
Quite! I am finding it to be a great learning tool in that it makes focusing on the relationship between just a few factors very clear. I will often have something like four dials of parameters present and then over time discover the sweet spots of each. In some cases there are a couple ranges that work well with another couple ranges and sometimes some dials are best just static, so they become either a default setting and the dial deleted or moved well to the side. Amazing little workflow with the added bonus of learning a little physical dexterity that really gets the lizard brain connected to the process.
I'd happily pay another $5-10 for Midi Out IAP.
I can't really envision how stem export would work. Maybe multiple IAA outputs like Patterning or the multitrack realtime output recording like Elastic Drums does...
Midi out I could totaly evision though.
As for price... Hard to say given that everyting on iOS seems so cheap. I would say MAXIMUM.
+1
Doh, I seem to be getting an issue with a project where it takes about a minute and forty five seconds to save and then the resulting project is corrupted....
Hm, not good. Try a restart, another user found this fixed it but I am doubtful, worth a shot...
Do the previous versions of the same surface work ( I see you have a history ! )
Makes note...
This comment is strictly what I think the market would bare for this add-on IAP.
I got in early when the app was first launched and on sale for $2.99, so I certainly wouldn't complain with an IAP for MIDI out, etc.
However, I think if I'd just paid $7.99 for the app, or even the previous $4.99, I might be hesitant to pay another $5-$10 for an IAP.
I'm not saying I wouldn't pay that, or that it's not worth it, but I think many more people would bite at the $1.99 IAP level.
If you go higher on the IAP in the $5-$10 range, sure... there are some on this forum that would pay for it gladly. But, I'm thinking of new potential buyers who'll see the app is $7.99, but it has IAPs too that cost $5-$10. I think that could put a strain on new users getting on board.
Again, this is a killer app and certainly worth what you're charging now. I think $7.99 is a fair price, even a bargain for what you're getting. But, when you start lumping in $5-$10 IAPs on top of that, I think that ultimately might be a misstep in pricing for potential new users/buyers.
Also can you give me your user_id. Click on the "K" top left then it should be something like "guest_....."![:# :#](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/grimace.png)
EDIT: Ignore, it's in the screen shot
I would easily pay $5. It would be odd to have an IAP that costs more than the app itself, so that seems like a practical cap (unless you raise the price of the app).
Another aspect to consider though is the broadening of the people it would appeal to with MIDI out. Instead of just being a cool app to mess around with, it could become a monster master controller. As it is, I'm completely taken with the app, but can't see myself using it for much serious work when limited to the internal sounds. But with MIDI out it would be almost without limits.
The other route to make it broadly useful would be to add support for hosting IAA and AU within the app. At that point I predict you would spend the rest of your days working out hosting problems, and that would be the end of KRFT's creative evolution. Spend any time at all on this forum and it's easy to see the struggles host apps (Kymatica AUM the possible exception) have with this.
Others may see stem export as highly important. I'm not as into that workflow as others so I don't really care. I'm probably not going to make much use of the internal sounds anyway. I'd rather see the ability to load it in AudioBus and as an IAA within host apps (with Multi-Out), and let the hosts worry about recording the stems.
Just my $5.02 ($0.02 for the opinion, $5 for the IAP) worth.
Agree! As much as I want the devs to be rewarded financially, I don't want the same to happen to this beautiful app as it happened to remixlive. I saw the free or dirt cheap app but never felt that itch to bite on my the higher price IAPs. Having said that, I would pay 5-10 bucks no problem but the bigger picture is will everyone do it. In my book, volume is better as you build a larger base of users @ the $1.99-3.99 range just MHO.
Cool, restarting my iPad seemed to allow me to go back a version, make the tweaks and save properly, nice and quick. Without restarting iPad (only restarting KRFT) the saving was still slow/corrupted. The one saved file remained corrupted, but no biggie, I save lots of version histories.
Phew, that's good. I'm not sure why it screwed up unfortunately. When we have sharing in (soon!) you'll be able to send your corrupt files to us so we can take a look!
Takes a long hard look at the Monzo and then runs away...
Must admit I'm struggling to see the eight quid's worth of value in this already. Not knocking the app but all I've seen is some basic beats with some whoop whoop noises and buttons you can place yourself to trigger them.
It seems I've grown impervious to the "GAME CHANGER!!" and "BEST APP EVAR!!" comments that get thrown about on this forum and a pretty face it seems is just that.
The apps I have bought recently iWaveStation, Reslicer have still to be used in anger but I find myself swiping down and clicking the S.._..X icon again. Maybe I have travelled too far down this route..
As a caveat, I imagine that I will feel guilty later about posting so negatively and buy this anyway.
It's a sickness I tell ya!
