Just skip iTunes export and send the files directly to AudioShare using iCloudDrive.
If you need to send it to the desktop/laptop use AudioShare's WiFi-Drive feature.

Thanks all, the problem is that I do not get the option to 'export' to any source, the files goes to the export folder in BH2 (into its own folder). Then, you cannot export the folder from there.. The two finger gesture (on the folder) only give the option to 'import' from iCloud and it's locations..

Edit ... and iTunes do not show the files/folders on my desktop...

    Thanks..

The workaround that does it for me is to a "Save as..." and give the project a new name, then export and you should see a file this time and the two finger gesture should work. Once your project has a unique name, it should just require a regular "Save" before exporting.

iTunes does not work, for technical reasons. If you have any other questions, you should probably go through the thread, as it's all been covered already.

Ok got it, it's a bug.. iTunes transfer is broke.

I guess I now know it's not on me..

    Bless..

Edit.... How did this get thru beta-testing?
The Manual says 'look in iTunes file transfer'...

Any chance reinstalling cleaned out a sizeable User Library? Just to confirm, you downloaded the sound packs individually? As stated previously by richardyot, it's not enough to just restore purchases.

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/327567/#Comment_327567

Yep definitely has reinstalled the sounds as I've tried using many just to see the whole packs downloaded. Not sure I had many song parts left as I tend to get rid of them after a while.
I just can't see how the app is meant to be nearly the same download size as I have, yet with all the packs that seem to have downloaded, I would have thought it would be a much larger size showing. Always showed up as a larger size in the past, but I did used to leave more songs saved. I always try to trim old songs off the apps now as I'm usually running out of storage these days lol.

Maybe it had some kind of caching/temporary files thing going on.

I regularly have to delete my Spotify app and reinstall it to claim back space (Spotify caches everything as far as I can tell). "Clear Cache" button clearly too difficult to implement ...

Yes, I prefer to use BH/AU on iPad - but AU on iPhone doesn't fit in the window correctly. Hopefully this will be fixed along with the other AU issues that are being worked on.

I <3 this feature. I don't know why UVI decided to hitch their wagon to Retronyms AudioCopy, but it sure would be nice if they integrated the AudioShareSDK for importing/exporting. Hint, hint, @BastienCo.

For me personally it's 'good enough' with 'Open In...', Airdrop and iCloud Drive/Document-Picker support :)
And to be honest, the less 3rd-party SDK's that are in use the better. The current 'AudioCopy' is a 'plague'...

It maybe a plague, but it's a revenue generator for app developers.

Bad argument... I'd be very happy to pay my music apps a bit more if they got rid of AudioCopy and use standard iOS file transfer methods (or Audioshare)...

I have an odd happening. I deleted the updated BeatHawk to give it a complete new download from fresh. Once loaded I reloaded the 14 sound packs I have. Thing is I've gained back over 2gb of storage and now the app is showing as only just over 900mb in size.
I've checked that the sounds have downloaded and they seem to have. It's all very odd.

I think BH no longer stores the downloaded sounds inside the app that is why the size went down in your case and stays the same for fresh installs after adding sound packs. iSymphonic and Module are doing the same thing.

I find this works for most things that are annoying me :D

  • I've been digging Beathawk 2 in standalone but as an AU there's some issues.

Most are already reported here, but one that I just couldn't overcome was when using BH2 as an AU instrument in Auria Pro, whenever the pattern playback is pressed a high gain buzzing sound erupts through the channel.

I don't know if playback of BH2 patterns & songs made in the app standalone aren't supposed to be brought into Auria via AU or what, but while playing the pads & recording MIDI data is cool, I think playback of patterns/songs should be included in the AU function too.

I wouldn't have an issue with audiocopy if they just fixed the app up a bit to make it more useful as a place to record/export, store and chop up samples. Retronyms! Why can't you give us sub folders and batch file operations like AudioShare???? Too lazy maybe?

"To make money money money" oriented, yes...

Sorry to be a bit ruff, but my opinion is kind of hard when it comes to Retronym and Audiocopy...

  • edited March 2017

Why is making money a bad thing? If developers don't make money they don't develop. If developers don't develop no new toys to play with for users.

I still remember people being very grateful to Retronyms for plugging the gap and making AudioCopy work again when sonoma suddenly stopped developing it leaving lots of apps broken.

    Same issue's inside Cubasis.

I admit I wasn't there then... I discovered retronyms with (1) Audiocopy which is not working well on my side (hard to find/manage my samples) and always tries to sell me sound packs, (2) Tabletop which was full of promises but made me go crazy because of so much music lost because of bugs and unstabilities and (3) iMPC/iMPC Pro which is a real crime/insult when you come from real MPCs as I do...
And about the "money making", I agree that it is necessary... But if you understand the difference between a musician making music to make money (e.g. boys bands, mainstream MTV soup, ...) and a musician making music for love and passion and trying to make a living out of it, then you probably can understand that I make the same difference with iOS app devs... And for me Retronyms clearly fall in the 1st category (as IK for example, IMO)...

Waiting for the flames now lol ;-)

Well actually Apple should get the blame too. The fact that we need 3rd party apps like Audiocopy and AudioShare and ITUNES to get our stuff is the biggest bull$h/t ever. Like cmon get it together already Apple!!

I try not to knock anyone's hustle, but the options for BeatHawk just don't make much sense to me for a few reasons.

UVI is an established and successful software developer. I don't know if they are, but I highly doubt they're participating in Retronym's Content Store Affiliate Program for a 10% commission on sound pack sales

Why is UVI directing us to a competitor who develops/sells competing products -- both sound packs AND apps?

If UVI is condoning, if not promoting, bringing in external content, then why not make it easier for the user to import/export?

Maybe someone asked or pointed a solution for this but since I haven't tried until now (just right now) I need to ask you (and devs @BastienCo )...

When you load a loop into a pad and select the keyboard (to slice it) and then you play with a external midi controller... why pitch wheel doesn't have any effect?

Also it doesn't seems possible "midi learn" transpose which could be a workaround.

Anyone can try to reproduce and give me some light on this?

You'll want to be in Song mode (the big "S" upper-right) and there's an EXPORT button (bottom-middle). Tap it and choose Ableton Live Export. After the export is finished, you'll find a ZIP file in your User Library (see BeatHawk's Browser) in an "ABLive" folder. Tap the ZIP file with two fingers to send to the cloud or AudioCopy.

You're welcome. You can also choose AudioShare as an iCloud location and use its built-in WiFi drive to transfer files.

iCloud Drive seems the faster over Dropbox and Onedrive

Gonna see how it translates to Ableton and see if its worth sticking with this or going all in with Gadget
