I'm sure the google would tell me but how might one without access to Acid make Acid Wavs?

Anyone figured out how to get Bloc Waves files to import as 'loops', so it can do auto timestretch?
Did an import of some 'Acid' wav files and they looped perfect.... brings out the magic of BH2.. If only we can get Bloc to loop (auto timestretch).. it will be great.

I'm guessing that Novation's time-stretching technology is proprietary, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, your comment reminded me of syrupcore's question earlier in the thread. I've not yet tried it, but I found this.

You don't it find because is the AU format. It's controlled by the host.

Imported my sounds to BH pads and they sounds as loops while they're one shots. I can't figure out how to change then in the edit panel. Am I missing something?

You're using a loop file, so Beathawk doesn't have a one shot option. Sample files have a waveform icon next to them and provide the option to toggle one shot. The built-in Beathawk manual covers this.

Thanks for your comment @InfoCheck My imported sounds were some drum kits at 24 bits but converting these files to 16 bits in Audioshare they work as expected. :)

  • All in all the packs are dope but the electro one I felt ripped off. UVI no loops!

  • Not a big issue but I hear a very annoying high beep when pressing beathawk's au rec button inside cubasis.

Interested to see if this works for anyone. I couldn't get it to work under Win 10.

I haven't reinstalled BH after deleting long ago. I would mainly use it as a loop sequencer. The fact that it couldn't properly deal with user loops unless they were acidized made it a non starter for me. But if BH treats acidized user loops the same as it's own factory loops, I might reconsider.

A couple of other options for acidizing audio loops in case anyone's in the same boat.

Sound Forge (audio studio version = $60)

Whatchu talkin' about, Willis? You mean the ELECTRO POP expansion?

It has both hits and loops, but it is mostly loops -- tons of loops, yo!

  • Anyone bought the new Baroque and/or the Tutti Orchestra? The in-app samples sound interesting but would like to hear some user feedback on these before I purchase.

No, no, no...I've looked at the invisible schedule and YOU are the designated one-for-the-team-taker on all matters Baroque this month skipper... :)

I bought both, enjoy them both. I'll probably have all the packs by tonight...almost everything I try has been resonating with my current tastes.

No loops, just instruments: celesta, classical guitar, harp, harpsichord and pianoforte. The harpsichords are lovely.

Haha my point precisely. I could do without the loops, not a relevant style, sounds dated and cheeze.

Edit: but the other packs are top notch

LOL, In days of future past, I would already have them in my saddle and had confirmed (or not) their goodness. Nowadays I am too broke to Baroque (and I have that covered anyway with Ruckers 1628 and iSymphonic). Really was more curious than anything, and I need to save what's left in my iTunes account for AB3.

  • These are nice romplers.. Anybody familiar with UVI falcon content? As smooth?

  • Hey guys. I'm having trouble restoring my purchases on this new Version of Beathawk.

I've hit restore purchases but there's no dialog feedback to indicate this is in process. No text box to say 'Ok' or no visual reference for completed progress.

There's a thin red line at the top but it's dancing between 3- 10% of the screen width.

This is just a little frustrating. :/

Anybody have luck with this so far? cheers

You should be seeing text feedback below the red line. Maybe the servers are busy? I downloaded a bunch of stuff several times with no issues.

Your purchases have been restored, just go to the relevant packs and download them. I think it's a mechanism to allow you to save space if you want to, the download is optional so to speak.

The red line is actually a CPU meter.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I went in to the individual packs and downloaded them one at a time. Got text feedback and the completed % visually on the pack icon.

Their pack instruments are certainly built that way, but I doubt they'll give us the keys to that castle. Too complicated to explain to the userbase, and they need to sell packs, after all. I'd like to think they'll eventually find a way to improve sample editing, though.

Meh. That's kind of a buzz kill. Not many pads left over once you load up any decent size drum kit. But, at least the option to use multiple instances is there.

I don't think it would have to be complicated for users. Just select multiple samples with a double-tap, like you can with multiple folders now, then select "Make Instrument" from a menu ... or something like that.

But I agree that it could be intentionally limited in order to promote sound packs. Fair enough.

I'm not that excited about this purchase. I don't see at all what it adds to my stable of already similar tools. I don't regret the few dollars, but seriously considering if the many megabytes are worth keeping it around.

I saw all of the hype for this app and many here who are obviously excited about it... price is nice... but then I saw that HUGE file size. Then, started thinking about apps I have that seem kind of similar... that I don't really use much, like iMaschine 2, etc.

Was trying to figure out what all of the hubbub was about so I watched that dude demoing it in what looks like a photo studio. It was ok, but none of it really sounds all that unique.

Meh... I don't get it. Most of the music I've heard so far from this app sounds kind of generic to me. Not bad, but not really... not sure what it is. Maybe it's the packs that make it all kind of sound pre-fab and very similar?

Any clips out there that really show off what I'm obviously missing with this app? I suppose I could make the room on my iPad by deleting other stuff I'm not using much, but I have not heard anything that warranted nearly a whole GB's worth of deletions.

Could be... this is one of those that's not such a good fit with my taste.

If the pack is located above the "User" box that means the sounds are downloaded.

When you import Acid Wavs the one shot option won't be available. I've been able to one shot 24 bit Wavs, however. Perhaps the conversion is working because it's removing the Acid formatting and not because of the change to 16 bit?

  • edited March 2017

The good thing about Acidized Loops is they're automatically timestretched; and if you go into pitch mode you can play chops on the keys. As for lack of one shot workaround, you can draw how long you want the sample to play in the pattern step editor (tap and hold and drag).

Can't speak to your tastes or file space priorities... For my part, I have a 32 GB iPad Air 1, and it is always maxed for space. I have iMachine 1 and 2 (w almost all the expansions), Gadget w all expansions, and Beathawk w/ abt 1/2 the available expansions... All great, but for whatever reason, Beathawk has gotten the most use on my tracks. I think it has to do with the way that one pad can become an instrument... I don't know, the interface, the sounds just click for me -- at least so far.

This track is about 90% Beathawk.

I posted another one earlier in this thread that is 99.9% Beathawk. Most of the tracks you will find on my SoundCloud have Beathawk as a major component. I don't know if you will like them, but they cover a wide range of styles and give you some idea of what can be done with the app.

Valid points, and I'm still deciding, too (at least on the iPad version. iPhone5 support is great). I quite like the ideas behind it's workflow, as it gets beyond the beats and promotes developing a full arrangement, but the inability to make more convincing instruments is grating me more and more.

I got the update free as I bought BH1 on launch. I tend to agree with you about the generic sounds. No tweaking of sounds so if your a synth head then I would prob avoid, I got it for sampling and yeah doesn't really do that well so I figured use it as a sound module but the sounds aren't really very unique. More bread and butter sounds. Useful maybe but not for me.

It has a cool interface but I will probably remove it and wait for BM3, more for what I want.

Lots of potential in this app though
