Another synth...yawwwwwn
Instabuy. See yah![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
iphone version is separate app at 4.99 vs 14.99 for ipad. I wonder if it's the same app but a different UI?
seems like it's this old one, with new skin
It was already on android in soundcamp but i don't know too if this version is different ...
per their Twitter
So I would assume the above video would be very similar.
I don't have the app but it seems with this port they paid attention to the UI, making it a little more touch friendly.
I'm a huge fan of Sugarbytes, but this synth, at least the original desktop version, is kind of a yawner IMO. I mean it technically sounds good, and is great for some Daft Punking around, but it's kind of a pony with only one trick. At least that's been my experience with it. However, the fact that it is here now gives me hope that they will port Factory over to iOS. THAT synth is fantastic fun.
I may have to get this just to support Sugar Bytes iOS app development. I'm so grateful for the free Egoist and Thesys updates with Ableton Link.
You got the right idea. Gonna buy it right now for that very reason.
I take back my previous comments re: the desktop version. Separating this synth from the confines of a desktop / mouse seems to have given it a new life. Big insteresting sounds after 15 minutes. Plus, Ableton Link support is a welcome thing.
Sadly, it appears that user preset saving is a no go. Anybody else have this issue when trying to save a preset to the user bank?
For me the delay or latency between hitting the keys and hearing a sound makes this at the moment pretty awful![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/neutral.png)
Ipad pro, latest os!
Normally a new Sugar Bytes app would have me instabuying followed by ear to ear grins - looking at the vid though this isn't doing it for me. However much I want to support them, this isn't giving me much of a reason to spend nearly twenty quid on something with less features than Cyclop. I'd love to be proved wrong though, and eagerly await videos to the contrary.
If this was an AU, I'd probably get it straight away. But will wait on the fence for now. I'm tempted by the iPhone version though since it looks as though it's identical apart from the gui.
Thanks for posting this firejan82! Just bought the iPhone version & am loving it! No probs saving presets or playing keys on iPhone6S+ iOS 10.3.1
Thanks again, wishing you all the best![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
No, not just another synth.. Ableton Link, Arp/Seq...
Looks interesting...
Videos.... please..
Edit... $4.99 for SB product?
Mines,,
Did you check the audio buffer settings? Maybe try dropping it down to 128 and see if that helps. Could become problematic if you're running other apps though.
I got the iPhone version, impulse buy cause I've never had a sugar bytes synth. Have to say I'm very impressed. Great sound, real beefy. And the GUI is wonderfully simple and easy on the eyes. Anyone with the iPhone version know what the little diamon icon in the top right does?
Weird, for me zero latency after hitting keys, wonder if it's a pro thing (I'm on Air 2)
I love Obscurrium too, it will probably require another ipad generation or two down the road but Looperator may be a bit sooner? No doubt they will all make it. Long live Sugarbytes!
The coolest thing about this release (although it is low in my queue, given that booty shake weight loss music is not my thing, but dammit I end up with all their apps eventually) is that they show a willingness to address UI and start fresh, that is pretty awesome!
>
Have you got Obscurium? That looks bloody amazing.
@MonzoPro
Obscurium is lunacy in the best sense.
My wish is Factory gets the iOS treatment, but as with Obscurium I'm not sure the hardware is there yet
Obscurium is certainly amazing, but I do believe you're right; it might set even the toughest of iPads on fire.
And while there is a certain "aerobicize" aesthetic to the demo / factory presets for Unique, it's one of those synths that's somewhat disguised by a goofy outfit IMO. I was always quick to judge the desktop version as such, but having it on my iPad gives me a different entry point. And I'm getting some sounds out of it that would not make even a single booty want to shake. Fall in love, or be afraid maybe, but definitely not shake![B) B)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)
Now if I could get a preset to save it would be going somewhere. Hopefully an update will land soon.
That's a shame, just watched some vids and it's right up my street. Factory looks good too - I could see the UI working well on the iPad.
Who knows, with the flurry of updates and new synth release, maybe they've got a few more surprises in store for us![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
My hope exactly.
The cost to get Unique on your iPhone AND iPad is $19.98. Korg Gadget is $19.99, is universal, comes with a LOT more synth options, and is multitrack.
"But Jim, you do realise you can't get those types of vowel sounds in Gadget, right?"
Wrong. Wolfsburg has a Talk Mod effect. Unfortunately, you can't hook up an LFO to those knobs, but you CAN automate them.
If Sugar Bytes would've released this synth 5 years ago, I'd have purchased it as a no-brainer. However, in 2017, just get Gadget. Even if you have a low-powered device and can only use one Gadget per project, just get Gadget and bounce out the stem into Audioshare.
Or you can just buy the phone version of unique for 4.99 and run it on iPad as well.....
(It's like a widescreen movie on the big iPad Pro though)
I'm with those that got the phone version in part to say thanks for the Thesys and Egoist updates.
That thought has crossed my mind...
Synths are never too late but I'm just wondering why to buy the iPad's version if the iPhone s one is so cheap ( same with animoog Sunrizer Magellan ).Let's The Week Ending (aeiouy) ...
Unique plays really well with AB3![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I hadn't thought of just buying the iPhone one and using it on iPad...
smart.
Bought both, so two instances on iPad...
