  • @JonLewis I'm not answering your question directly but what is interesting is you can assign the arp to either or both oscillators so can play one say, while triggering the other.

  • I like the synth, and it certainly has a spot in the orchestra all its own, but I'm glad that 1.1 is in the works...

    For the record etc:

    Hi Johnny,

yes, we are aware of the problem.
We will of course come up with a fix within our next update and let you know as soon as it is ready for download.

    Best,
    Nadine

Looks like Sugar Bytes is a company what truly cares about their customers. Okay, f-ck it. I'm in for the iPhone version. Cheers.

  • Is there no way to initialize this synth?

I was searching for the same. Don't think there is.

Alrighty, so I passed my concerns along to the Sugar Bytes team. Since as I previously mentioned it seems they care about their customers, this is a mild oversight rather than something truly egregious.

I guess we could just make an init patch and save it but I dunno, I kinda feel like the devs should have taken the time as matter of synth principle. But it's no big deal, still awesome
    stuff here.

Edit: actually, I can't seem to find a way to remove all the modulation, particularly the lfo and touchpad. You can hold a knob and press clear, but if you've chosen a different filter or something that brings up different knobs, there's no way of seeing what is mapped to the modulation sources. So yes an init patch is needed.

  • @jwmmakerofmusic @db909 pretty certain on first load the iPad version showed a default patch but that disappeared when I dived in. Saving isn't currently working either on the full version so no point creating one although I can state save with AB3 which works well.

  • I wouldn't consider sugar-bytes synth purists by any stretch. I doubt init is even possible- the weirdness is baked in. You may as well ask to see the original Chevy that a burning man art car is made from.

Thought you'd like to know that this is what finally inspired me to buy this thing.

Happy to help crystallize your expectations. :)

  • You had me at "weirdness baked in." As the great indie producer Kramer once said to me: "I'm no stranger to weird...."

    Really good.

  • got it (iPhone 6+). Have barely dipped in but I'm excited that it has an Arp AND a 'parameters sequencer', and the thing where you can assign the Arp to only one OSC is a really neat idea. Needs a scale-configurable keyboard but that's my only complaint so far.

  • Ok this sounds awesome. But I have no idea how to get the arp running...rtfm I guess

On the upper left of the ui you can click either one or both of the oscillators to get the arp going.

  • Update is live - saving works on iPad and strangely, but really cool is my earlier saved presets are now showing so nothing was lost. Top stuff.

Weirdly magical and odd, but also nice.

Or you can just buy the phone version of unique for 4.99 and run it on iPad as well.....

I'm with those that got the phone version in part to say thanks for the Thesys and Egoist updates.

You maam deserve an awards for this. You just made me go buy all the iphone versions so I can have multiple instances of the apps on iphone lol WWWOOOOOOWWWWW

    ?

  • Hello everyone!

Version 1.0.1 fixes the two bugs of the first release (no saving of user presets & lame performance on newer devices).

iPad version is already out, iPhone still queuing...should be released by Apple today or tomorrow.

    Sorry we didn't catch these!

    Markus at Sugar Bytes

  • @Mommersen Hi Markus, thanks for the update and also for bringing this synth to iOS. Saving works now but could you add to the list editing save file names and deleting user presets? Unless I am missing something obvious I cannot see these. Cheers!

  • @Mommersen Hi Markus!
Are there any plans to include an init preset?

  • @Mommersen , thanks, Markus is there plans to add AU support to your App, I don't understand why release a App without AU support.

  • Hi @Mommersen, thanks for the quick update. It's sorted out the patch save issue, but I'm still having problems with sluggish performance, particularly when using the built in keyboard, pitch and mod. I have an iPad Pro 9.7, latest iOS. When I use Unique with MidiFlow Keyboard in audiobus 3, however, there's no sluggishness at all.

Definitely makes sense - I need to come back on this though. I made this a feature request and haven't heard back from our developer yet.

Well, there's no "Init" preset, but "Dark Past" from the Piano folder is pretty straightforward.

OK thanks and good luck with this release

there are no fixed plans yet. we just didn't make it in this release, but probably will with our next app - when hopefully, there's also little more drive for this interface. but there's plenty of other open doors in Unque with Audiobus, IAA and Link.
