We have released a new video tutorial for DRC. Have you ever wondered on how do you make Daft Punk's "Da Funk" sound? Lucas shows how to make it with DRC in just a couple of minutes.

Great video. Still need that folder sorting though :( getting to have too many patches stored in "local" or "cloud"....

For me, the most two important conclusions from this thread are:

    • AU V3 support on iOS
    • Preset management

I will try to fulfil this requests during the next updates! ;)

Aaaand a randomizer? Or are we just being greedy now

    +1000 for a Randomizer

DRC no longer opens after updating today. iPad 3, 9.3.5.

Yeah, insta-crash here too on iPhone 6s Plus iOS 9.3.5
    :(

Same for me, crashing on iPhone 6+ running 9.3.5

People having crashes: I think I have found the problem. This will affect everyone who has iOS < 10. Please send me private msg with your email so I can put you on beta testing

    Yihaaa.

I occasionally have to restore purchases to unlock it all again. This is the downside to having the full app as an iap. I can see why some developers are against iap and cloud based unlocking, Apple make it messy.

Right now I can't access my presets in either folder, or at least the text isn't there, I can select left and right..
edit: back again now, think I had an internet problem. But this is why I'd much prefer local preset management

In order to see the purchased banks, they need to be unlocked. Once unlocked they remain unlocked. The only situations in which that might not be true is when you delete the app or update the app. I will try to find a way of that doesn't happen when you update the app.

Only thing that worries me is that if you guys ever shut down your server we will lose access to the app/vst we own. While i hope that never happens, in the case that it does i hope you disable the activation requirement.....

  • People having crashes... Can you please contact me in order to put you on the beta list? I'm submitting a beta version that should fix your problem. I need feedback. Thanks!

  • I haven't had a single crash at all! Using KRFT and DRC in AB3 or AUM or alone. Solid on my side. iPhone SE and iPad. Both on latest.

  • I'll test on my ipad3 when I can. Might take a day or so. That's the only device I have on 9.3.5.

it's really easy to assign CCs to some synth parameters in DRC.
(well, there's one extra step in teaching it...)
Then use Oscilab's midi page to build some of the most stunning arpeggios.
This feature alone is worth buying Oscilab, way more sophisticated than any classic arpeggiator.
It can be tweaked in realtime on graphic screens by a waveform method.
A lot of these modulations are impossible manually - and you can have 3 CCs running simultaneously per track.
(if you need more, duplicate the track and assign 3 more)

Another option is TC-Data, which also handles arpeggiated controllers... and probably more.
Imho it's a good decision to keep that part simple, because a smooth implementation is a lot of work and already exists (see above)

    NICE!

I would love to see this in action. Is it possible that Oscilab is more capable than StepPolyArp?

I like to nerd out about the origin of idioms, but in this case a quick google came to naught...

  • I really love this synth. The latest round of Patches allowed me to explored a few more new things. Here's a short little piece I did today:

These words can be read with it as well while hearing my noodles
Within moments of silence within the sound it can be heard.
    The way.
    The intent.
    The escape.
To the ear attuned to the pattern the signal is shorted
    The mind is released
    Opportunity unfolds.
    The old ways are gone.
    The new ways are unknown.
    The journey begins
    When we take a step...
    Observe
    Listen
    Feel
    With intent.

No. Just different. I have in the past found StepPolyArp to have been super fluid and fully capable.

Ah, I see now. I had thought maybe it was somewhat analogous to "fox guarding the hen house", but the meaning didn't quite fit. This clears it all up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throw_the_cat_among_the_pigeons

  • Good people. I'm uploading a new beta of version 1.1.5 (build 58) that fixes two important crashes:

    • Fixed bug that would cause a crash on iOS versions below 10
    • Fixed bug that would cause DRC to crash when loaded from Modstep

I would like to ask all of you that use Inter-App Audio, Audiobus and Ableton Link to ensure that everything is working as expected. I had to refactor some crucial internal mechanics that affect this components.

Beta testers should receive a notification in a while.

    Thanks!

I'm getting it on iOS version 10+ (I'm on the beta team already, but haven't had a chance to email you yet, so I wanted to quickly let you know).

  • Update: I just tested the new update, and things are working again.

  • Maybe i missed it somewhere but how do i set up legato (for flute like sounds f.e.).
    Is there a legato mode?

Do some dub techno chord stabs! (although the default Detroit Dub patch is pretty amazing on it's own already)

  • I love DRC. It is the synth I keep coming back to on iOS partly because it's easy to understand and get stuff out of but more importantly it sounds huge and very rich. The reverb is really gorgeous and mixing this with delay and feedback can create some amazing soundscapes. Here's some of my patches where I just ran through the list. There's a big bit of silence and my playing is very sub par but you should get an idea of some of the amazing sounds it can create. Just looking forward to AB3 support as currently even with Midi Adapter I can't get it to play nicely or at all inside Audiobus 3.

    https://soundcloud.com/regsquires/drc-patches

  • I'm writing to revitalize this thread. In my recent endeavors to learn more about synth, I came across DRC. There's still much for me to discover—in this app and about synthesizers in general—but I'm finding more and more how much I'm drawn to this app in particular.

Lots of thanks to those who posted SoundCloud examples, and even more thanks to the development team working hard to produce this app and incorporate the suggestions of others on this forum.

I guess you could say DRC is my newest crush as well. Looking forward to more sound clips, tutorials, and app enhancements!
