Easily the most impressive little motha fucka I have yet to see

    LINK?

    ch
Those of us who have used Launchkey and other Novation ios compatible hardware know that Launckey beat and bpm sync'd with all Launchpad since day one on ios.

Nevermind you could toggle between the 2 apps and play them simultaneously!

    Long live NOVATION

    LONG LIVE THE KING

Sorry, meant the app, not the hardware

  • +1 for update to launchkey App. I always wondered why they didn't update this app.

Hi All, I can confirm the Launchkey will not be updated. In fact, as of iOS11 (September'ish) the app will be discontinued. There are many good reasons for this, but the primary one being the synth engine in Groovebox totally blows away the Launchkey synth engine. The Groovebox synth engine is a completely cutting edge framework design built from the ground up over the last two years, and we haven't revealed 1/2 of what it can do yet :-)

Ditto, that would be great. Or an option like Live has to have delay tails carry over to the beginning of a looped file when you export.
Also, how can I transfer Groovebox project between iOS devices? Not the audio renders, but the actual project files?

....Ableton has that ability ? D: I need to do some research.
Also. Just like Blocs and launchpad, Groovebox has zero ability to backup or transfer it's projects. It's the main reason I havebeen harping on about file management but it keeps falling on deaf ears :/
For now just export the stems and ableton projects. I use Blocs as a temporary repository.

We really want to do this, but we have to get out some Groovebox key features first: Swing (16ths/8ths), MIDI IN, Chromatic modes, Sections, and workflow improvements. Also, we've nailed the two main bugs: Export issues, and Battery drain. Expect updates soon.

I must say I've been extremely impressed by Groovebox synthesis engine. One of the best sounding apps for sure. <3 Also, glad that you didn't take the Auxy route, they also have a great sounding and extremely capable synth engine, with DSP from Sonic Charge and FXpansion, but they won't open it up for editing, other than a few macros, ala Launchkey.

Keep up the great work! Looking forward to any new instruments taking advantage of this amazing engine (an admittedly major feature request: a drum synth instrument with per-step automation, parameter locks in Elektron jargon).

Please tell me you haven't abandoned Blocs development. Been waiting for the export/file manager since launch. It's starting to feel like you're just saying it will come eventually to placate us but not actually intending on doing it at this point :( just tell me straight that it won't come and I won't talk more on that topic. Will just treat Blocs as a temporary repository and focus on audioshare.

Exactly. As someone that spent over 80$ on blocs and launchpad it feels like a gutpunch when basic stuff like backup/restore and sorting is not implemented. And instead new apps release with the same features missing. Like. I'm getting an iPad pro soon. And the fact I cannot transfer my 80+ projects is infuriating.

My bet is that Blocs will get 'Files' support come ios11. Why invest tons of time into their own custom file managementment scheme when they can just adopt Apples?

We've already said this earlier in the thread but just to reiterate, Blocs Wave and Launchpad have not been abandoned. You guys are absolutely right that updates have slowed down on them recently, as we have been busy getting Groovebox ready for release. We have a lot more that we want and need to deliver for Blocs Wave in particular, and I can tell you that this is being reflected in our planning meetings.

Ok. Will give you guys the benefit of the doubt for a few months. Although you guys probably won't see any purchases from me till you deliver. I accumulate waay too much user content to risk it going away if my device dies. And sorting through thousands of recorded or flattened clips is a nightmare without folders or even custom tags. So temporarily I have completely stopped using blocs other then for some minor timestretch duties for other apps. Even recording things for now Aum has taken over since I can actually backup to Dropbox and restore. Will wait and see what you guys do. Gonna shut up now about my requests. Peace :)

For individual project backup you can export user content by exporting either project files or individual pads to dropbox, much the same as you can now in AUM and Audioshare...the project files (content) are named in such a way that you can easily rebuild the project file (container)..they have the tempo, the key and even the scene and pad number......everything you need to re-import and put them in the right place....
Purchased content can always be recovered through the store.......

    I can't argue against tags though ;)

If MIDI IN means all synth parameters can be controlled via midi cc and not just recieving notes then I will certainly be making IAP purchases. I am feeling deja vu... I probably said this already, hehe

Excited to hear about the bug fixes and all the other stuff that's still behind the curtain for GBox, but as someone who has bought pretty much every single pack for Blocs, I'd also appreciate knowing if that's it for this one etc.

Peace :)

You do realise how long this will take with hundreds of projects right ? There's 80+ I want to backup. But there's another 200+ more that are just on the spot doodles etc. There's actually thousands of user recordings. Many of them just marked as red for recording. Rebuilding everything. I'd rather just delete it all at this point.

I feel your pain. In my workflow I typicaly exported projects as I went to my PC. To do it all from scratch now would be painful.

I don't need to do anything for audioshare. Project name, recordings, everything is ready after recording. Audioshare automatically names the files with whatever the track is called. Takes around 10-15 mins to backup all of my audioshare stuff. Plus all my templates etc are intact. Even all my modstep projects that control all the Aum projects are backed up. Just make sure both have the same name :)

I actually started using AUM exclusively since I gave up on blocs. Haven't exported any of my old Blocs projects though. Anyways. I did say I'd keep quiet and give the devs a few months. I won't post or respond to any Blocs, launchpad or Groovebox posts anymore. Will just stay in the background for now. if you want to ask or chat regarding this you can Pm me.

    So carry on everybody :)
