Ditto, that would be great. Or an option like Live has to have delay tails carry over to the beginning of a looped file when you export.
Also, how can I transfer Groovebox project between iOS devices? Not the audio renders, but the actual project files?

....Ableton has that ability ? D: I need to do some research.
Also. Just like Blocs and launchpad, Groovebox has zero ability to backup or transfer it's projects. It's the main reason I havebeen harping on about file management but it keeps falling on deaf ears :/
For now just export the stems and ableton projects. I use Blocs as a temporary repository.

We really want to do this, but we have to get out some Groovebox key features first: Swing (16ths/8ths), MIDI IN, Chromatic modes, Sections, and workflow improvements. Also, we've nailed the two main bugs: Export issues, and Battery drain. Expect updates soon.

Please tell me you haven't abandoned Blocs development. Been waiting for the export/file manager since launch. It's starting to feel like you're just saying it will come eventually to placate us but not actually intending on doing it at this point :( just tell me straight that it won't come and I won't talk more on that topic. Will just treat Blocs as a temporary repository and focus on audioshare.

Excited to hear about the bug fixes and all the other stuff that's still behind the curtain for GBox, but as someone who has bought pretty much every single pack for Blocs, I'd also appreciate knowing if that's it for this one etc.

Exactly. As someone that spent over 80$ on blocs and launchpad it feels like a gutpunch when basic stuff like backup/restore and sorting is not implemented. And instead new apps release with the same features missing. Like. I'm getting an iPad pro soon. And the fact I cannot transfer my 80+ projects is infuriating.

We've already said this earlier in the thread but just to reiterate, Blocs Wave and Launchpad have not been abandoned. You guys are absolutely right that updates have slowed down on them recently, as we have been busy getting Groovebox ready for release. We have a lot more that we want and need to deliver for Blocs Wave in particular, and I can tell you that this is being reflected in our planning meetings.

Ok. Will give you guys the benefit of the doubt for a few months. Although you guys probably won't see any purchases from me till you deliver. I accumulate waay too much user content to risk it going away if my device dies. And sorting through thousands of recorded or flattened clips is a nightmare without folders or even custom tags. So temporarily I have completely stopped using blocs other then for some minor timestretch duties for other apps. Even recording things for now Aum has taken over since I can actually backup to Dropbox and restore. Will wait and see what you guys do. Gonna shut up now about my requests. Peace :)

He's more assertive than me, but he's right :)

For simple backup of projects backup your device ;)

For individual project backup you can export user content by exporting either project files or individual pads to dropbox, much the same as you can now in AUM and Audioshare...the project files (content) are named in such a way that you can easily rebuild the project file (container)..they have the tempo, the key and even the scene and pad number......everything you need to re-import and put them in the right place....
Purchased content can always be recovered through the store.......

    I can't argue against tags though ;)

You do realise how long this will take with hundreds of projects right ? There's 80+ I want to backup. But there's another 200+ more that are just on the spot doodles etc. There's actually thousands of user recordings. Many of them just marked as red for recording. Rebuilding everything. I'd rather just delete it all at this point.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying project backup isn't needed.....
You said you are doing it anyway through AUM ?
And device backup is not time consuming as a cover all ?

I don't need to do anything for audioshare. Project name, recordings, everything is ready after recording. Audioshare automatically names the files with whatever the track is called. Takes around 10-15 mins to backup all of my audioshare stuff. Plus all my templates etc are intact. Even all my modstep projects that control all the Aum projects are backed up. Just make sure both have the same name :)

I actually started using AUM exclusively since I gave up on blocs. Haven't exported any of my old Blocs projects though. Anyways. I did say I'd keep quiet and give the devs a few months. I won't post or respond to any Blocs, launchpad or Groovebox posts anymore. Will just stay in the background for now. if you want to ask or chat regarding this you can Pm me.

    So carry on everybody :)

Oh no don't do that....believe me when I say that the devs are listening to everything......they want as much input as possible to give the best products they can.....and the negative feedback drives features as long as there is enough demand and there isn't something more important to do first.....
In order for a dev (my day job) to do their job properly and to know what to do and what order to do things in, they need to know what people want and how important to them it is.

I didn't mean to offend, and apologise if I did :)

  • Volume controls or at least a gain knob on the main panel for the drums and synths on the iPhone version would be awesome. PITA trying to balance a mix with them early today while working on a new track :)

  • Really loving this app more and more each day. Here is a track composed on a flight from San Jose to Houston...

No offense taken. Had said I'd give em time so I will. That's all :)

  • @AmpifyxNovation
Thanks for the great app, shows tonnes of potential and very immediate way to start ideas. Maybe a slightly more simple one to implement — it would be great to have the option to export audio and MIDI to Ableton Live. This way you could use the audio files and manipulate the MIDI further to build and finalise a track. I think this is built into the Ableton Live Set Export functionality as it's done in both Gadget and Patterning leading to an awesome workflow. Hope you consider this. Keep up the good work!

Plus plus to airline compositions :) I think we need a compilation of strung-out altitude activity.

Yes, I've heard some artists claim to have made their best creations while being high.

  • Picked up the Worldwide HipHop pack. Not bad. Feels very samey, but this is because I haven't figured out how to save the presets (because you can't?) once you make use of the IAP options to tune/fiddle. So, yeah, you can create the perfect little fading snare, but only for that tune. Yes, I understand I can duplicate that tune etc etc, but it's a pain and this balance between encouraging preset making/saving and wanting to sell packs is an interesting tension to observe in apps etc.

  • edited June 2017

yeah no preset saving is annoying. Might as well add it though because We're going to save presets anyway FYI. It's simple. Just save projects with nothing but created sounds. Build up blank palettes as a creative starting point. Name them according to mood or whatever

  • I really hope they add midi in and midi out as well as export and easier connectivity in general. I don't like closed systems like Gadget or GB.

  • Here's another little creation using this fun little groovebox:

  • Rest assured that I am furiously taking notes from every post, but also that many of these things mentioned are already on our list. We can't promise anything specific yet but we really appreciate the feedback!

    Cain // Ampify

any chance to get a moderated list of feature requests?
maybe with a road map of future features...

Can't say I've ever completed a song on a flight (a zeppelin lost in the Atlantic would be more likely), but I've certainly started a bunch.

  • Is there an easy route to muting individual drums without picking them out of the piano roll?

Would be useful if it had a multi drum track export.

    "This is your Captain singing...."

I don't know why I immediately imagined Green Gartside or Elvis Costello singing over this....more seriously, I think you should either raise the vocal level a little on this or keep it as is and then have someone in complete counterpoint sing the same lines over it (Nico?). Liked it a lot.

I'm in. I've started many compositions on flights. We should do a flight challenge thing.

  • I felt the same about it sounding kinda samey, not a huge difference among most of the the kits at first listen.

If you've got the drum box expansion you can turn the volume of the individual drum down...far right (I think) in drum box

  • Great- thanks - didn't think about that. Mute buttons would be a good addition too.

I went through the same thing ;) Duplicating a pattern to split Kick/Snare from Hats etc...

  • Ah!- right- even better- cheers

BUT STILL PLEASE PRESET SAVING DOCTOR PLEASE!

  • These synths are sure purtee....

  • Yeah, it's a fun thing, just would like a few more levers and administrative assistants to help it along...

I have a strong feeling that the CV's are in and being evaluated......

  • I hope the song/scene mode is more than the 6 section thing in blocs. I'd like unlimited scenes. If I'm being honest.

If we get Export to Launchpad at some point then I think there would be 6 scenes as this is whats available in Launchpad, this is where the 6 scenes in blocs wave came from.
