  • Rhaaaaa these Marv videos make me crazy... I want to have BM3 so bad so that I make music again (right now, knowing that BM3 is almost there, I don't find motivation to make music on other apps)... And in France (where I live), it's our national day tomorrow, I'm off work, and I will be highly frustrated... Saturday, better come fast (and I hope it will be released at midnight Friday night in France lol...).

  • it looks like bm3 might just be your huckleberry :)

  • OMG 2 days left!!

What features are you looking for in bm3 EL G?

I dream of a mix between Gadget (for the workflow, strong internal subs and stability), Blocs wave (for the time stretching / pitch shifting/ slicing facilities... Even if it really lack option to ease synchronisation of different loops) and Cubasis (for the ease of recording other apps on the iPad)... In fact, I think I mostly want a more modern and less buggy BM2, so it should be fine.

@AudioGus : I'm admit being a pain in the ass sometimes, but iOS music ecosystem clearly lack tools for Hip Hop and Sample based beats producers right now...

nah, you aren't being a pain and I think that I totally get what you are after. All signs point to happy Loco I think. But still.... I am curious how loading in a long wav file, streaming it from disk and simply selecting a range to assign to a pad feels. hopefuly I can do this while a track is playing but part of me thinks I may have to do it by using Audioshare as the file explorer/player and then piping the audio in via IAA to achieve this (something I do with Cubasis) but we shall see.

Initially, I was planing to continue drafting my loops in beattime and audioshare before sending them to BM3 (as I'm used to this workflow)... But if recording or sending full recordings or songs in BM3 is an option, it would be the holy Grail as it would save me so much time (+ it would permit me to use a single app to do everything I want)...

iOS has good tools for HipHop producing but HipHop heads usually want an Mpc-like app which works in similar workflow. If you take in mind Mpc lovers are a niche inside a iOS producing niche then devs have a problem to justify deliver that thing.

Anyone could do great instrumentals with BlocsWave, BM2, BH2, ... even GB! but none of them full cover all the aspects than an Mpc lover will wish... until now it seems

This right here is the truth. It's all about how you use the equipment. Best producers spend so much time learning one peace they don't want anything new because that machine is now apart of them.

    Hey @Cib,

No synthesis in BM3 as of now. With all the amazing synths and other instruments available on iOS, we thought having a robust IAA/AUv3/AB3 implementation was a good way to complement the sampler.

    Cheers!
    Mathieu.

There's literally NOTHING stopping you to sample some phat ass oscillators and mess them around in the sampler.
The sampler is super freaking powerful. Filters, modulations, HELL... live time stretch so no freaking loop points...

You name it, it has it.

I haven't created an A-Z song in BM3 beta since... i kept formatting my ipad and all that, but I can hardly wait to buy it and do some proper shit with it.

  • You guys recommend doing a fresh IOS install to prepare for BM3?

I am not acting like a grownup about this at all. I'm not even going to say out loud what family obligations I am already trying to avoid so I can have a free Saturday. Shameful!

Or "My dear old Mum is deathly ill and I must take my leave from work next week."

  • Why not "I need time to spend with my a new child"? It's closer to the truth, and Maternity/Paternity leave is often more generous than bereavement leave.
