  • I dunno peeps. I think 7.15.17 is going to go down as the day that the MPC officially came to iOS as a fully mature tool for mobile music creation and production.

    Can't wait for Saturday.

If I've understood @mathieugarcia correctly there's some pretty neat midi effects & filters in the pipe-line?

For example layering AUv3's & IAA's and Samples is already easy by just linking the pads :)
What's missing for now is to be able to set/select the velocity & key-range for the plug-ins.
For samples that's already easy to do using the mapping tab.

Is it not currently possible to have splits between different AU instruments? i.e have them respond to different key ranges from the same controller at the same time?

I'm hoping to use this to replace my laptop live, and splits are something I'd ideally want to be able to do without resorting to any external apps.

Also, I remember in the features thread a while back, there was talk of a companion app to convert sample formats to something BM3 can use; any word on that?

I recently spent some time recreating all my Ableton sampler instruments as soundfonts to use on the iPad in Bismarck. It'd be nice not to have to do it again. From the sound of it I'm sure BM3 is up to the job, but I'm lazy.

Apologies if I've overlooked any answers to these queries, on the 18 preceding pages. I've gone through it, but y'know, that's a lot of info.

    Yes, finally!

Not clear on this...what does it mean to you? A (better) version of Garage Band where you work on one area at a time? Seems obvious, but just checking etc.

  • Early release would be awesome... :)

Technicaly not a Rick Roll in that the video did not play / angelic voice not heard, but still a nice gag. :)

I just hope I can all map and use transport control, switching sequencer tracks (jump to specific or next/previous), toggling record/play, erasing while holding button, toggle replace/overdub mode, all over MIDI. I believe a hardware MPC can do this, like for live impro with quickly sketching out a couple of tracks, even hands-free with a foot controller. That's my only big wish. I guess I would still buy it without, but be severely disappointed. There is no app for this currently. My live sets will be much too busy I guess for screen-searching for some fiddly touch controls somewhere, especially in sunlight. I just need this to fly. It's the way I get creative with songs.

Boy, where to start... So, GB's clip view is pretty good for a starter, but it doesn't have the depth of features that Ableton Live has. iOS has been littered with so many possible contenders outside of GB that don't have the walled garden issues that GB has, in addition to the lack of depth/power user features. So, Launchpad and their ilk have been good for audio clips but lack MIDI clips. The loopers like Loopy haven't offered "Scenes" or "Groups" of clips. Modstep and Infinite Looper have the MIDI clips but don't have the audio clip features. I could go on and on...

Kind of understand (minor miracle). Will wait for the object to become available. And for your compendious video tutorials of course :)

does pattern automation mean follow actions?
and will you guys be implementing mpc export along with your ableton export feature?

  • guess I will be pairing bm3 up with the roli block, any of you beta testers tried it and have any thoughts , interested in seeing how the block performs as a drum pad with that spongey keybed

let's ask the gods for follow actions.

  • If I could use Link and sync Cubasis with BM3 it will be so amazing!

I heard the gods have been requesting this as well :D

  • I'm inclined to start the "Beatmaker 3 July 16th" thread right now to document the backlash.

Let me start with an obvious one that's not their fault: No Fabfilters.

Well actually I've been waiting for MONTHS for MPC Live to arrive (I wasn't testing BM3 back then). Now that it has arrived, it is collecting dust, waiting for a buyer.
    BM3 is THAT good.

  • Not sure if this video got posted already...

  • Very interesting info about the Macro knobs:
Most parameters available within BeatMaker can be assigned to a Macro knob, including:

    • Editor, sampler and modulation parameters

    • Plugins parameters (by using the “Show AU Knobs” mode from the plugin view)

    • Mixer controls

    • Any effect parameter

    Nice

    From the Intua web site:

    Trigger pad 1-16 (or 64 with optional 64 pads device mode);

So will hardware Launchpad support be an IAP?

Can you have clips in tracks that only contain modulation data? So that you could move them independently of the note data?

Yes, we have pattern automation and track automations.

You guys are killing it, get this out on the desktop as soon as possible !!!!
