So as someone watching from the sidelines (not even remotely interested in a sampling app) was it worth all the anguish and hype?
The only question I have about it is does it have any other time signature besides 4/4?

BM3 is not only made for sampling. You can do anything with it.

So you're not using any AUv3's or IAA-Instruments at all?!
You don't have to sample you can use it as a host for AUv3's, sequence and automate them too if you like

It host AUV3,IAA, you can bring in your own drums, sounds, whatever. It's a music app. Make music with it.
Well it has a sequencer. And clip view. And a mixer. As well as a sampler. I mean that's not nothing...
My guess is that the delays were caused by hosting problems for the IAP. And they've had a rather stressful day (been there).
Make sure you sample her before she stops...
When does the additional content become available. It has one session only with a single set of drums?
For someone not interested in sampling, host iOS AU Instruments and Effects plus record realtime parameter changes from most AU UIs, go back and edit them and/or draw them or modulate. You can also host IAA/AB Instruments and Effects. Aside from working in a traditional linear fashion you can also now arrange with scenes and clips.
