  • No worries. What about without the sequencer and just already made presets that have a specific pattern going. I'd love to say record four variations of the same pattern and be able to open up the preset screen and recall them in realtime as the song progresses. As an AU that would rock! Even better if they were selectable in AB3 remote making TM the ultimate Realtime Bass pattern generator.

@brambos , I'm in the process of creating a One Man Band preset for AB3 and I haven't used TM yet but is there a way to have saved patterns be selected in realtime as it plays back? Sort of like when you open up a preset selection pop up screen in a synth and it remains open to select and preview different presets.

I'd love this feature to be able to create and select different Bass patterns as a song progresses in realtime.

I see what you mean, but that's not currently possible with the sequencer.

    2 questions I have.
    Is there swing % ?
Is there any nudge function? - or is everything stuck to the grid?

    1) yea
    2) don't think so. It's mostly stuck to the grid. But thanks to the mutation and the swing it can sound quite pleasant and surprising. If you disable loop sync you can go pretty wild with the rhythms.

    2) Depends on what you mean. You can nudge (shift) each channel of the pattern individually as a whole - you just can't nudge individual notes.

I think he meant outside the grid. As in offsetting the timing Which isn't possible.

  • that would be nice!

  • Over complicating an elegant, simple, and perfectly targeted little gem IMO.

  • If you wanna get fancy, then export the midi into a full blown sequencer. (Again, simply IMO)

I haven't had the time to test but is it possible to just put the RM in AB3 midi input and for example modstep or cubasis to record the midinotes?!

I think that should work alright. Alternatively you can export the MIDI file from RM and open it in your host/daw/sequencer of choice and apply humanizing groove swing quantization filters etc..

  • Aha! It works to save the midifile! Great!

So does putting Cubasis in the MIDI output. You can also add it in the Audio output to record both the midi and audio at the same time.

Exporting is generally less work IMO though.

@gonekrazy3000 - yes I was hoping that you could for eg - grab the snare (on beat 2 and 4) and have it push

    • like be able to be ahead of the grid on certain tracks.
    • It definitely makes drum machines less boring / stiff / unhuman.
      A job for DAW :)
