Spent the last few hours with Quantum, amazing! What an achievement... Definitely worth the wait. :)

Trying to find a good, intuitive mapping for my Faderfox UC4. I can't seem to find a way to set up midi feedback for step mutes - I’d love to use the buttons (down the bottom with the LED indicators) to control step mutes (global, not rack) because when I switch tracks, the LEDs/toggle states don’t update, so sometimes I have to press a step mute button twice for it to work, and the LEDs don’t match what’s in the app. Would be amazing if a snapshot of the step mute states was sent out to the midi learned CC destinations whenever a track was selected. This way, the LEDs on the controller could dynamically update to show active/inactive steps, and pressing step mute/unmute would make sense in context.

Hope this makes sense. The app is deep enough that zig may already have this functionality and I can’t find it. If not, this would be my number one feature request.

    Congrats once again. ;)

This sequencer looks deep, but OMG that GUI is killing me! Italic serif fonts, muddled colors and faux 3D buttons. Ya’ll flashing me back to Windows 95!
Oh, I’m still buying it though.

  • Bought. Nightshift tonight, so hopefully will find a couple of hours to dig in.

@audiorangutan, dev has said a UI graphics overhaul is in the pipeline

Sorry to be shallow, but I totally am with you. Hard to love the look, especially when Xequence is so handsome....

Good thing I have endless amounts of money and storage space on my devices.

There was NOTHING wrong with 95, bathe in the nostalgia ... good quick start guide too.

Wasn't that the first animated irritating emoji. Clippy

  • The sharing feature is powerful.. from iPhone to iPad, nice. Will love to see others creations and demos files..

The Bluetooth midi is tight ...shocked that no-one is missing Ableton Link over WiFi in iOS 11.0.2 .. (is it just me?)

Anyway, recording sequences into Groovebox is magical..

    Amazing app..

Nice work mate! Bought and going bonkers with it :) Hope to post some noisy bits later this weekend :)

great I'd like to hear someone other than myself using Quantum....

  • Quantum sequencing my favorite plug-ins (like Keyscape) is the dogs bollocks (i hope i got that slang right).

I just WISH this app had delay events (early & late) like Xequence.. (+or- 200 milliseconds)

how does that work? Quantum has delays per device or step (swing). I don't have Xequence - not got around to buying it yet....

Amazing! Congratulations on the launch @midiSequencer :)

    thx

@echoopera : Holy sh-t, now THAT is a very clear, well written manual.. Whoa this looks awesome !!!!

Its a work in progress - I aim to add more sections on adding sequences & parts, sync (master/slave/link/poly etc), actions, transposition etc. so be sure to check back to see if I've updated (will put a date on the doc)

Oh my this is awesome. I feel like Klaus Schulze right now. I wonder if I have enough hard drive space to record a 4-synth 45-minute jam

If you know Klaus Schulze's music you will know what type of music I created this for!

thx - more loop actions planned.... keep any ideas coming..

Can we chain the loops so that they play consecutively?

you can also set the third icon in the sequencer strip (play, stop, type) - so type = blank means just play the part, > means play parts one after another forwards, < is parts backwards, + is all parts.

so you can chain parts in one sequence too - as well as using actions to start/stop parts or version loading to load in complete sequences or Song Link mode to play sequences in order or Song mode Selected to play the selected.

This really scratches the Numerology on ios itch

I do have a question - is there any chance of ios11 multitasking support down the line? I'd love to be able to run it in split screen

interesting idea - adding to list - but iOS 11 is only on my phone at the moment so being very bad - but I did buy an iPad pro for that purpose of slit screen

Love it, will compile some feature requests after I've worked it all out :D
interactive help is really useful too thanks :)

sure - feel free to ask for enhancements.. for example on my list is midi lfo's tempo sync'd or free running, clip(sequence) launching panel, clip arrangement (horizontal time layout)...

This app is un-freaking-believable. Just amazing.

doesn't suit those that like piano-roll or pattern based composing - but patterns are coming later, as well as midi files....

try the Out button on the midi learn page - its also on the Devices/Output - it means any midi learn't control sends out midi cc (as well as receiving it). The faders (and I think the mutes) send all 16 faders & mute states allowing session based setting. I've been working with Wally Blo on this - I think it's almost there....
message me to see if we can get this working for you...

plain skin planned soon - something much more modern as I realise many don't like this retro style.

yes - I wrote a clip sequencer a couple of years ago - a grid of 4x5 clips arranged like a pad (a clipboard if you like)- Quantum uses some of that code (like the follow actions) but laid out the clips horizontally in a rack. I had 20 running at once.

I aim to create a full screen panel that allows you to drag & drop sequences then use touch to start/cue them to play. Easy to do now I have all the code for it just need the UI.

Yes, this one (i really love this instrument). Sequencing different layers with different sequences and using really deep sampled stuff which i also can microtune and sequence then is the right thing for some Halloween stuff :)
    I love Halloween!

Very nice! It is a frivolous niggle, being that the functionality is there in spades.
I can’t wait to really dive into Quantum, I can tell it will be way fun.
    Keep up the good work!
