  • Sounds nice but I’m on an app fast.
    I already have Magellan...
    I’m feeling strong willed today...
    Wait, did you say SPAWN2?..
Did you say $3.99 for a limited time?...
    Umm...

    BRB, gotta go do something...

  • I just got zeon and @brambos needs my cash for Odessa

Not sure why I would need this synth

What can it offer that model 15, zeon and Animoog don’t already do??

  • Just watched the video.. it sounds tinny and metallic and not at all warm

  • This sounds great and the spawn2 really sends this over the top for me! Some real nice deep bass from this one as well.

It's the video and not the app. The app sounds lush and full, the bass is deep and rich also.you will hear it once you get it I am quite sure.

Don’t buy it then. Others ears may disagree though.

I wonder if this could run on my iPhone 5s, which has the same CPU as iPad Mini 2.

Did a very quick test on my 5s, all seems fine. (It’s kinda cramped though)

  • So the pad patch called Uranus, I loaded it tweaked it a bit and then saved it. Now it is my anus! :D

  • Ok at the offer price it’s silly not to get it I thought.

First impression was not too great.

Hooked up to Odessa and sequencing, I fiddled and soon made 3 sounds I like.

In my opinion it’s the presets that let it down initially.

I would say Zeeon still grabs it for pure character, but it’s a decent synth, just with uninspired presets.

Now the disclaimer: my opinion on 10 minutes of quick play and obviously my choice of what constitutes a decent set of presets.

There is more to be had from this than first appears and worth a punt.

  • So the 900 presets are from someone pressing spawn 900 times? ;)
    On the fence for now....

  • Well some of the spawns are good enough to become presets. I could see this number growing quite easily .

I'm gonna get this as soon as I can find it in the store......for Spawn2 alone it is worth the money......I'm gonna take a punt and hope that in the Expert section I can control the parameters enough to generate patches and then program them onto my Bass Station 2, Mininova and Circuit. :) The things you do when your bored :D :D

It’s a good bedfellow for Zeeon. They seem to compliment each other well.

  • Thanks for reporting that, @BiancaNeve.

For me, I’ve not bought any of those synths you mention, though lusted over them heavily. I decided to pick up Cauldron as a poor-man’s substitute. Mostly based on my experience with Magellan and my love for patch randomizing. Actually, fact of business, the SPAWN2 and price are what got me.
But if I already had model 15, zeeon and Animoog, I would probably just turn off the internet and float away into la la land forever on never ending clouds of glorious synthetic sound. Nobody would see me for a long time.

Lol I love the last paragraph

  • The thing is I likely own over thirty iOS synths, many are now on iPhone

I certainly don’t need more analogue- mood 15 got me covered and then some

Now, if a decent wave table popped up then ok I may bite

The point is, how many synths do we need?? As soon as one is released, another turns up and we don’t master the previous

I think more unique tools like Odessa are more essential now and some advanced generative sequencers too

  • We are spoiled really and the apps are affordable

The devs know that and take advantage lol

  • instabuy from me :)

Lol ,oh poor us and our problems when we have too many synths. What ever shall we do! :D If all my problems were only this.

Different interfaces inspire me in different creative directions so it’s all good. Plus I like that this one is full screen AU and supports ARP in AU mode

  • 'The thing is I likely own over thirty iOS synths.'
    LOL

  • How big is the app size after it’s fully downloaded?

  • There is an awful lot of empty space here, again. :| KASPAR!....I’m sorry but this app is Kaspar’s synth engine with new clothes and some upper harmonics on the oscillators. That intro paragraph on their site...mmmmm B) But honestly who cares. It’s a VA with some cool features for an insanely low price that is also an AU.

  • Too many synths? Never heard of such a thing!

Saying that - I have deleted nearly everything that’s not AU!

  • Still cannot find this in the UK store ?

  • Yes but it cost much less than Kaspar :D

  • Low price. Yet another minimoog with very little to add. The sound is good. Not very inspiring architecture but the Randomizer is super cool. It won’t likely to be my first go to when looking for a model D

  • Does Kauldron have a global tuning option in settings?
