I've had no problems what so ever automating multiple AUv3 parameters in Cubasis?!

In the meantime i tried for myself and updated my posting - sorry for the confusion.

(at first i tried moving and recording a single knob at time, which killed the automation of the peviously recorded knob - now i understand how it works)

When did AU automation happen in Cubasis? I don't recall any announcement regarding this. But, yes it is working on the few AUs I've tried it on. At first I thought it was just a Kauldron feature, but it worked on Poison 202 and Italizer as well. So weird that AU automation is in there. Did everyone else already know about this?

Well, there was a pretty long thread about it last week, so my guess is some people knew about it ;)

Says the dude who's apps were featured in the promo-video for Cubasis 2.3 ;)
(I guess it's a pretty safe bet that there's NDAs involved regarding AUv3 Midi support in Cubasis 2.4 or something like that).

I do hope Apple jumps on the train with AUv3 automation (and editing!) as well as AUv3 Midi in GarageBand in a not too distant future...

  • I see now that Jakob Haq covered it in his 2.3 update video. I thought he was just demoing the Waves stuff. Probably should have watched it. :#
Still I find it funny how there's a few other Cubasis threads going on, but I found out about here in the Kauldron thread. :D

Why does the keys click on most presets? I don't like that it seems impossible to get a short attack without a key click. I like magellan better I think

  • Hi everyone, is anyone having a problem with Kauldron where if you turn down the main volume, it suddenly jumps mid play up to near max setting and stays there being way too loud?
I've had it occur on several of their presets, just wondering if anybody else had this experience?

I agree with this observation. I have similar issues with Kauldron and Magellan. Maybe it's just the way that the Yonac team designs their amplitude envelope? It's frustrating, to be sure - hard for me to make Juno-esque sawtooth strings with all the clicking...

It's definitely something I wish I could turn on and off. I've been getting some results making patches in kauldron tho. Definitely not as large a sonic pallete as magellan to my ears but it has its own merits that are becoming more appearent as I play with it

  • I was not a fan of Kaspar when it was released - I felt that it sounded too thin on it's own (I prefer the meatiness of synths like Zeeon, mood, and Model 15). Now that I'm working almost entirely with AUv3s, I like Kaspar a lot more. Kauldron is surprisingly rich sounding by comparison, but there are a few little niggles that bug me.

    This is the biggest...

  • Woke up to find Kauldron was updated to 2.0! A very nice seasonal gift - this workhorse synth has been a staple of my sound for many years now, happy to see it finally getting some polish!

So we get a new synth for free (in the AUv3 cosmos). Hopefully we don’t have to wait this long for the next update, because there is a serious bug in the plugin version. It‘s not possible to set the Oscillator‘s Octave to -1 or +2. Other settings do work. Strange behavior that should get a fix asap. But thanks for the update. 😎

  • I just checked, the oscillators seem to be working as expected.

    @Ploe

It works in standalone but not in AUM nor AEMS.

You may want to contact the developer. He doesn’t seem to be a frequent visitor here.

I’m on older OS 17.7.10 and it worked both Standalone and in AUM. Just tested again.

OK, I’m on 26.2 so that must be the difference. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have an email address. I don’t use Facebook or any social media. Maybe somebody with one of those available can contact them on this?
