Hardware or software you want as an iOS app

I'll start of with a few select wishes, and maybe they'll come true.

  • U-he Zebra
  • Teenage Engineering OP-1
  • Somethig like EastWest Symphonic Choirs
  • Native Instruments Battery or some sort of a very capable drum app with a ton of sounds.
  • Yamaha Motif XF

Of course default with Audiobus, virtual/core midi, background audio, copy/paste, sample import/export, and "open in".

  • Toontrack EZmix would be a great addition for the IOS platform. I've mailed them with this request a few months ago, but never received an answer.

  • ableton live-style midi/sample clip launcher, imperfect piano, massive or cyclop

  • Hmm. Guess this forum doesn't display lists very well.

  • A quality standalone sampler instrument.

  • YES! What Audiojunkie said... NN-XT is a great example.

For now I am using BM2 as my sampler and recording in Cubasis.

    ST

  • @Brad_Moore

    • It
    • Does
    • Lists

Just have to put a dash, space, whatever you want, then enter to the next line and do the same...it will auto-format

  • Oberheim Xpander/Matrix 12.Thanks :)

  • @Crabman That would be nice. ;-)

  • Yamaha RS7000 music production studio/sampler, the drum machine sister to the Motif.

  • Ozone. In theory, Positive Grid is working on a mastering app that looks a lot like Ozone. Hoping it eventually makes it to the app store.

  • I think we are currently limited by the hardware, but this gets better each year. I agree with a good versatile sampler and would add Yamaha CS80 (Arturia, are you listening!) and Logic!

  • The Yamaha CS80 would be a nice addition! :-)

  • Wasn't there an old rumor about Synth 1?

    @JMS thanks!

  • The Oddessey would be nice too! :-)

  • @synthandson Unfortunately, SynthX doesn't have Audiobus or IAA.....

  • Ableton Live's Session View, for its realtime audio warping timestrech.

  • Toontrack EZ Drummer

  • Korg M1 and Korg Wavestation, seeing as they've already been made into software plugins, would be awesome to have ported to iOS.

  • Agreed @ChrisG I'd like to see Korg do these too! :-)

  • More of the same-as-above from me plus a few others

    • Jupiter 8
    • Prophet-V or VS
    • Oberheim Matrix 12
    • Ableton like loop recorder/clip matrix - with an arrange view (or midi controllable)
    • Slifty drum machine Sadly abandoned when he went to work for FXpansion. I still dream of it.
    • Audiomulch - How rad would the meta-surface be on an ipad? Very rad, that's the answer.
    • @PaulB's drum machine + recycle style slicing/mapping
    • Some sort of epic keyboard/pad/knob controller that published a simple standard+SDK that allowed synth app devs to easily support auto-mapping. I'm lazy.
    • Nanostudio 2!
  • Gforce impOSCar, Waldorf Attack, EZ Drummer and a proper vocoder

  • Kong, or a Real MPC!

  • @Synthandson will take a look at SynthX but it is reply more of a nostalgia trip for me. I miss my Odyssey that I sold years ago. :)

No more synths, please. There a lot of other music app categories to fill, e.g. samplers and real grooveboxes (like Roland MC or newer Korg Electribes).

My biggest wish would be Electribe MX and SX as one App. Alternatively a iOS-Version of G-Stomper.

  • Sylenth, Massive, Electrax and Gladiator. If those became ios apps, I would have no need for my laptop

  • NI could do a Komplete for iOS, only if.

  • Toontrack EZDrummer for iPad. It makes no sense to me that they haven't done this yet
