  • Korg Karma !

    +1 for EZDrummer

  • I'm pretty sure a EZDrummer style app is coming soon. It was more or less announced here as being close to being done. I think it's called Drum Session if I remember correctly?

  • We need this!

Thanks to alienbrain on intua forums for info on this

  • Shoot, if ur on an iphone/ipad, use this link instead:

    Now that's a proper sampler

I will go with the "easy" ones, just don't know why they don't exist yet...

KORG MonoPoly, KORG Wavestation, KORG M1.

And... ARP Odyssey and 2600, Moog Modular, Yamaha CS80, Prophet 5 and VS, Jupiter 8.

Asking too much... Something like BFD - "THE" Drum App.

  • @FRibeiro I'd love any of these you just listed! :-)

I'm guessing the big analogs would require too much processing power to be problem free. The wavetable synths are more feasable as they are based on small sample loops.

@PaulB You're probably right. I've been wondering why all of the great creations coming to the iPad have been monosynths (ie iSem, iMini, iTuttle, etc). The developer of iTuttle basically came out and stated that (at least for his app) the decision to go with a monosynth or basic synth had to do with the current processing power in the iPad. As time goes on, I'd imagine things will get better and better since the iPad keeps getting more and more powerful.

There IS a Prophet emulation that is coming out and almost ready to be released. I look forward to finding out how close it sounds to the real one. :-)

Edit: It doesn't look like it is actually a Prophet emulation after all, but it DOES sound interesting on paper and the GUI looks nice :-)

It apparently has the ability to morph between 4 presets, which sounds really interesting! It would cool if an LFO could be set up to modulate the morphing capability!!! :-)

  • Seeing as it's called 'The Professor' I reckon it owes at least a nod and a wink in the direction of the Prophet series.

BTW, the hardware versions of the Minimoog and the SEM may have been monophonic, but the iOS emulations are definitely polyphonic, so don't give up hope based on my say-so. I was just pointing out that analogue modelling has an extra layer of processing to deal with, making it more problematic and therefore less likely. That doesn't mean it's impossible.

  • You make good poings @PaulB. I agree! :-)

  • Yes, I like my poings, too. :)

  • Hahaha!!!! ...and I really truly do try to proofread my comments! How I let these things slip by.....

  • I can make louder poings though:

    POING!

  • Wouldn't that be a good name for something? A new app maybe? One that just goes "poing" would be nice.

  • The One "Poing" Only app

....you'd have to be a long-time member of KVRAudio to get that joke. ;-)

@PaulB: Your poings truly are superior and now also louder, bigger and fatter than mine. I hereby humbly admit defeat.

  • Would love a lap steel guitar app

  • Pedal Steel: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/pedal-steel/id441742219?mt=8. Only 70 MB. I contacted the developer a few months ago asking about AudioBus support, and he did not rule it out, but requires OpenAL audio engine support from AB and Apple. It's a good simulation of pedal steel. However I always end of using iFretless and Geo instead.

  • I'd like a nice modulation FX app mainly for guitar and bass. I know there's turnado and wow for iPad. But it would be great to have something like that running on the iPhone, so preferrably a universal app. Also it should be less cpu hungry than things like jamup and the sugarbytes apps. The UI could be of the AUFX kind for the sake of simplicity and for resource savings. The effects I'd be most interested in would be:

    • ring modulator
    • lesley
    • wah/filter with fine tunable range, Q, volume, maybe a syncable LFO too
    • phaser
    • chorus
    • flanger
    • and of course everything midi learnable to foot- (and breath- :-)) controllers
  • @Munibeast
Maybe you won't have to wait for too long, this might come quite close:

  • I want to finally be able to afford an E-mu Emulator III sampler with original presets from 1 & 2 as well.

I dont need it! But i WANT it!

  • @mmp Yeah, I saw that the other day. Looks promising but unfortunately iPad only.

  • Audiojunkie Thanks!
Maybe i'll check out the soundfont option.

  • I think a version of Ableton's Operator for the iPad would be pretty cool. Not too CPU intensive and a minimal interface already. Zebralette would be pretty sweet too.

  • @Tarekith Yeah, that would be great. Or just ableton live for iPad... Or reason for iPad. With the right pricing I'd get them in a heartbeat. Reason's scream would also be a nice one. But we'd need more FX slots.

  • Honestly the last thing I want is a port of a desktop DAW for my iPad. I think it would end up like Rebirth and just be a scroll and zoom fest trying to get anything done.

Something other than Electrify for Live-like audio launching I can see the need for though.
